I know. It's so sad.

BTW, do you know whether the APC will hold the presidential primary at Onikan or another arena?
I think it will be Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

True. It may take a decade or more for the tribe mentality to change.
The basis of the problem is that we don't see each other as fellow Nigerians. A clannish disposition is now second nature to many Nigerians.

Some of them are so unbelievably childish. Does life end because a Politician win/lose an election? This is proof of how immature some posters are. Those who generally understand that politics is a means to an end, i.e a better Nigeria, will never compromise themselves for politicians who will always come and go. Where are the political thugs who fought and died for Odili, Gbenga Daniel et in the past? Has their death prevented others replacing those they lost their lives fighting for?

People like you who make silly bets, like the above, are sentimental and egotistical individuals incapable of getting the best out of life. Why should I deactivate my NL account because of the win or loss of any politician? Many politicians live extremely privileged lives and an election win or loss is actually more painful or injurious (literally) to their over-zealous supporters than to the contestants themselves.

As someone who uses NL for various purposes, I am not ready to sacrifice my account for any politician because I have my own life and independent pursuits that are not tied to what others do. Politicians come and go my friend. Do not kill yourself over them. Aside my burning desire to see a Nigeria that resemble all the developed nations I have access to, I am not at all into worshipping any politician.

@OP.

Keep your vote. Buhari does not need it because what will be will be. If majority of Nigerians are ready for change, as I personally believe they are after the 5 years horror showof GEJ , then Buhari will win without your vote or that of your household, your community, your State and your region. It is obvious folks like you will never vote for Buhari even if Jesus Christ direct you to do so.

Why not spare us these pathetic threads where you find the flimsiest excuse to announce that Buhari has committed a 'new' offence that will prevent you voting for him when we know you are 100% committed to voting according to your ethnic and religious prejudice?

Why would anyone be afraid of Buhari who has never won an election in his over 70 years of existence?
Son, stop fooling yourself. Say the truth and shame the devil for once. Things are very different now to when Buhari ran in the past. Buhari, first of all, has never had the support of a powerful main opposition Party like the APC. Secondly, the hideous misrule and unbelievably brazen legalisation of corruption GEJ has supervised, when many Nigerians assumed he would be the change required, has made even the worst enemies of Buhari to now see him as absolutely vital to the progress and development of Nigeria.

Nigerians are now like a people in prison. It does not mater whether you were eating guguru or the finest steak as a free man. In prison you eat what is provided or starve and die. Jonathan has created a terrible situation whereby Buhari is now seen as the only meal, even if not the most delicious, capable of preventing Nigerians from starving to death.
PoliticsRe: Other APC Presidential Aspirants Team Up Against Buhari by Gbawe: 5:35pm On Dec 02, 2014
Fans of Buhari should not work themselves up with these stories about Atiku's 'endorsement' and so-called popularity. It is the work of the 'monied' Atiku camp embraced zealously by the TANdroids and Jonathanians fervently praying for an Atiku win so that the despised, failed and unpopular GEJ can have an easy ride against a candidate Nigerians feel is even more corrupt, more materialistic and more pro "business as usual" than Jonathan.

Buhari will win because the movers and shakers in the APC appreciate, as we all do, that support for the Party will drop drastically if Buhari does not emerge as the Presidential candidate of the Party. No one needs a Rocket Scientist to tell us why all the polls are between Buhari and GEJ with the few featuring Atiku showing him inconsequential behind overwhelming winner Buhari and GEJ who is a distant second place behind the general. Jonathan will stroll to victory if Atiku wins because many , in the North and SW, will simply stay at home than bother going to vote for an individual who is perceived no different to GEJ and is too tainted by the stench of corruption to ever be viewed by ordinary Nigerians as representing any form of change from the status quo.
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Best APC Aspirant For President? by Gbawe: 2:35pm On Dec 02, 2014
Buhari is the best for many reasons. For me Buhari is the only candidate capable of defeating the PDP if the APC throw their entire weight and might behind him unreservedly. Buhari, perhaps with Nda-Isaiah, is also the least politically-compromised of all those running. He is unfettered by any political interest group and has no business empire or holdings to protect or favour to the detriment of Nigeria. This consideration alone is pure gold for those who realise why all PDP Presidents have failed Nigeria since 1999.

Analytically aware Nigerians, because they understand that Presidents beholden to cabals or personal desire for self-aggrandizement have been the reason Nigeria has seen virtually no development since 1999, will know Buhari is the man we need badly for Nigeria today.

Amosun cleared as APC governorship candidate

https://www.osundefender.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/GOV.-IBIKUNLE-AMOSUN-250x300.jpg
GOV. IBIKUNLE AMOSUN

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state, Southwest, Nigeria has been cleared as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for next year’s governorship election.
The National Screening Committee for Governorship Aspirants (South West) of the APC cleared him yesterday.
The Chairman of the Screening Committee, who is also a former governor of Gombe state, Senator Danjuma Goje, revealed that Ogun is the only state that has one candidate in the Southwest, as at the end of sale of forms and the screening exercise.
He presented the screening certificate to the governor in Lagos amid jubilation.

Goje commended the governor for his strides since assuming the saddle of leadership in the Gateway State, saying that the governor has been screened and cleared.
According to him, “We have just concluded screening and sale of forms. Governor Amosun is the only candidate from Ogun state. I want to commend him for the good works he is doing for our party, the good people of the state and his various strides since he assumed office. God will help our party come 2015 to effect the needed change in this country,” Goje said.
In his response, Amosun commended the party leadership for the set of experienced statesmen who made up the Screening Committee, pointing out that, he alongside his colleagues, would still fly the flag of APC in Ogun.
Amosun stated that the party’s manifesto, which is development-oriented is paramount to the present administration in the Gateway State.
The governor expressed optimism that APC will be victorious in the Presidential election, and would thereby extend development to the length and breadth of the country.
He said his government is committed to the party’s programme, which is development that cuts across every facet of human life including employment generation, urban renewal, qualitative education, among others. “APC will truly make the difference in Nigeria and will be victorious in the Presidential election,” Amosun posited.

Not true. The cost od a modern modular rail network, for example, is very high. This is why even Lagos has not completed irs own model. The FG must assist states more in terms of critical infrastructure and one of the ways to do this would be to reform bloated federal governance so that more is made available dor States to spend on the socio-economic drvelopment of Nigeria.

Gone are the days when I used to take the jokers seriously. Constructive criticism is okay but such should make sense and be directly pertinent. This development is laudable as it means Lagos is on course to becoming virtually independent and self-financing. This would be a dream fiscal scenario for any Nigerian State because federal allocation can effectively be utilised for capital projects since the State can finance itself.

My bro, I respectfully urge you to stay out of my tete-a-tete with some posters here. You cannot know Niaraland from one thread or even from being on this forum for a year. There is no one I insult here who does not deserve it by virtue of the fact that they insulted me without provocation, at one stage or the other, while I tried to discuss productively. I used to ignore them for a long time till I realised some of them take the graciousness of others for weakness. The fool Tomakint, for example, ran around NL hurling insult at any poster who criticised GEJ. His favourite was to call every critic of GEJ old as if he is himself a teenager.

Imagine my shock when the picture-expose phase on Nairaland showed him up to be an old, ugly and scruffy hobo !!! Why should I then not pay the lying hypocrite back in his own coin when it is cretins like him destroying this forum simply because they cannot stand factual criticism of their failed messiah? As for the others, they are prejudiced and ethnocentric clowns well-known on this forum for their sectional myopia against other ethnic groups especially Yorubas, Hausas and Fulanis . I cannot stand those sort and I have no interest in being polite to them same as a black man has no kind words for a racist or white supremacist. I am a highly refined and well-mannered person and as such will never insult you and other productively polite posters but I make no apologies for insulting vile posters and uncouth agberos who feel they have a monopoly of hurling vitriol at others

As this is a politics forum, I will use an example of Dimeji Bankole (he is 44) to make a point since he is one of Nigeria's most prominent young Politicians haven been a former speaker HOR.

I urge the entire forum to now pray with me.

If Dimeji Bankole is my egbon (older brother) age-wise then may God continue to bless and accord me success as has been the case till now. Misfortune will then be your lot from now and henceforth if the above is true and the same misfortune should befall me if it is a lie and I am indeed as old as Dimeji Bankole let alone be considered an old man. I say a big Amen to this prayer and Nairalanders are welcomed to help me say amen to this prayer too to make it more potent.

When the misfortune and bad luck begin to come your way then you will know why cool cool cool cool cool

At least we have seen pictures of Tomakint to know 100% he is an ugly, poverty-stricken, shabbily-dressed and urchin-like 'arugbo'.
