tit:You may think you are 'catching fun' with this your style of badmouthing everyone to satisfy the attention you seek but be aware karma is a b1t.c.h. When you speak ill of those doing their best to advance the lives of their fellow man , as Amosun is doing, then know that good fortune will avoid you. It is not a curse but a reality characters like you deserves for never giving credit where due and for only being able to badmouth and pull down others doing what you neither have the talent, will or focus to do. For anyone not a brazen liar, Amosun is one of the top five Governors in Nigeria on account of the tangibles he has delivered alone. |
Extractor101:Abi OOO. I don't know what is wrong with that character. |
Impressive. Ogun State is taking big steps in the right direction under Amosun. Ogun fully on course. |
kushy:Completely true. |
bestman09:Bro are you for real? Some of you need to work on your bad belle that warps your ability to think logically thus making you to deny reality and miss what is obvious. You cannot compare the position of being the number 4 citizen of Nigeria as Speaker house of reps (a glorified and junior underling to the Senate) to being the number 1 citizen and top executive officer of a Nigerian State with the complete freedom to shape said state however you want while directly transforming the lives and future of millions. Tell us if you and many Nigerians even remember the name of the speaker before Tambuwal. You can then tell us, in stark contrast, if anybody has forgotten Jakande or Donald Duke considering how long both have been out of power as Governors of Nigerian States. Do you think Fashola, now a global star on account of his work in Lagos, will be forgotten or entirely anonymous even in the next 40 years? These are the realities that tells you how important and respected the position of governor is. You forget all of us live in one Nigerian state or the other and not the House of Reps. |
pendy79:Sharp guy. We can all remember Rev.Ugolor, amongst many others, making it clear GEJ is always appeasing and kowtowing to those who "carry guns". What a poor example of a commander in chief. Nigeria has truly suffered. Violence is not exclusive to any particular tribe, now that the federal government is dealing with only those who carry arms, the fact that Urhobos do not carry arms, the fact that the Ogonis do not carry arms does not mean they are stupid. Look at the billions of naira that has been sunk into amnesty which would have been used to build infrastructure, this is fraud. Less than one per cent of the people in the Niger Delta are the ones benefiting from the amnesty.- See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/2015-presidency-itll-be-disastrous-if-jonathan-uses-state-machinery-to-manipulate-another-term-ugolor/#sthash.uWXNYYWc.dpuf |
StBlack1:Indeed. We are all partisan to an extent but we must submit ourselves, always, to the law and to essential doctrines such as that concerning the sanctity of separation of power. To do anything else is to ask for a lawless society where only thugs and criminal elements, with scant regards for law and order, will be attracted to leadership. |
idumuose:Nobody wants to do that but the utterances of some folks, where they openly support what is wrong, means it is difficult to respond to them with anything other than harsh words. Imaging a thief breaking into your house and all I can do is to talk in defence of the thief? What nice words would you have to say to me if I was doing such an insensitively immoral thing which disregards the primary consideration i.e the safety of your life and property? A sensible and upright person would know that Ekiti folks, even if they voted for Fayose, do not deserve to gain a lawless society. If Nigeria is still a working Country then the separate arms of Government must still remain able to carry out their duties and provide checks and balances for each other. Anyone speaking against that sacrosanct consideration can expect harsh words from other law-abiding and educated citizens. |
barcanista:To be honest, I really don't know how these guys think !!!! They are just ridiculously clannish to the extent they miss what is obvious and are ever ready to support with is completely wrong if such serves the interest of their affiliates. Whatever the situation, Fayose cannot begin dictatorially riding roughshod over the legislative arm and usurping it's powers/responsibilities. That is a simple enough concept for anyone to understand and respect whether they are pro-APC or Pro-PDP |
VICTORCIZA:Another clannish waste of space. Do you know about the principles of 'separation of power' and why it must be respected always? So the executive arm should interfere with and even override the powers and responsibilities of the legislative arm? God save Nigeria from worthless folks like you parading as 'citizens'. Which Nation would not remain backwards when it has individual like you as 'human resources'? separation of powers definition. A fundamental principle of government, whereby powers and responsibilities are divided among the legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch |
Ngwakwe:Must you comment always? What has this matter got to do with anything other than Fayose, as usual, dictatorially showing no respect for the legislative arm of Government? What is wrong with people like you and what sort of world do you live in where simple rules about wrong or right can be rejected because of a clannish outlook alone? Some of us, unlike you, know what Fayose is about entirely, due to his antecedent, and we did not begin criticising him only today in the era of GEJ and because of his affiliation with the President. We had hoped Fayose would have consigned his lawless and dictatorial ways, which we condemned back then also, to the past. I bet you will even become Gbenga Daniel's biggest apologist today if he suddenly becomes strategically important to the ambition of GEJ. To think you are meant to be ultra-religious. As they say Africans claim to know God more than others yet are most ungodly in thoughts and action. to ratify list of the new caretaker Chairmen and Supervisor that will be swear in tommorow by Governor Fayose without House of Assembly approval. |
seanet02:I don't know what is wrong with the guy. When we then call his ilk ethnocentric and clannish they will be sulking. Whatever happened to standing on the side of legality instead of just blindly supporting and even making inane excuses for anything/anyone affiliated with the PDP and GEJ? |
pendy79:Bro, we are used to this sort of abuse of power. It is the Nigerian way after all. We are a people, despite conventional education, still emotionally and democratically immature. The notion of behaving in a just and equitable manner always is not something some Nigerians are ready to accept let alone live by. This is one of the reason the poor and disenfranchise do not currently have a voice or strong representation in Nigeria. The Nigerian elite, in positions of influence same as the mods and the owner of Nairaland enjoy, abuse their powers and use it to intolerantly muzzle the wishes, opinion, voices and aspirations of the Nigerian people. I accept what Nairaland is and you will notice I am never found complaining here. This is because I know that the supporters of GEJ who run this forum will never prevent future development that are meant to be. GEJ is a terrible President Nigerians want to see the back of. The discriminatory antics of Nairaland administrators will not change anything. |
anonimi:You are simply a lunatic and pathetic loser. The garbage above confirms it beyond doubt. |
babyosisi:Very wise words here. Really informed opinion about preserving the sanctity of a union between two people from diverse background. Great post. |
patrickmuf:Indeed. what is clear is that Nigerians have indulged the PDP for long enough. In most Countries of the world ,where the electorate is focused only on receiving effective leadership, ruling Parties are voted out as soon as their tenure is up which is 4 years in most cases. Nigerians have given the PDP 16 years amounting to 4 tenures of 4 years. That is simply more than enough time, when everything has remained comatose or even worse as Olumhense points out, to conclude a nation must have change. |
anonimi:I know you have serious 'issues' but try and learn to stay on topic. Open your own thread about what Lagosians want and deserve. Contribute directly to the subject matter of this thread, i.e the notion PDP should be voted out, or get lost. Your childish attempt at moving focus away from the subject matter is only indicative of your immature and dishonest nature. |
duwdu:Very bright observation. It is even obvious that Olumhense , in testimony to the neutrality and objectivity he is known for, cannot even directly endorse the APC. What he is absolutely sure of is that the PDP has to make way for another Party so Nigeria gains change from the current status quo which is literally as low as we can sink. Anyone who knows Olumhense, as you clearly do, will realise this article is stronger, more direct and more ideologically resolute than most of his other writings we have read. Olumhense ire against the PDP is typical of what most neutral and objective Nigerians believe to be the case currently. I.e "PDP must go" for Nigeria to make progress. 15 years is far more than enough indulgence of a grossly failed ruling Party. |
Ofunaofu:This is the simple truth TANdroids do not wish to accept. The "fresh air" and "boy with no shoes" ruse are now universally discredited catch-phrases. When was the last time anyone used "fresh air" and GEJ in the same sentence. Little things like that tell a lot about how Nigerians are thinking. GEJ is now another part of our failed history that must be relegated to the past so that a new leader can get the chance to deliver the change Jonathan has emphatically shown he does not represent. |
berem:This Berem lady is a fantastic advert of what a Nigerian should be. She is real, a friend and supporter to all plus a detribalised person who genuinely loves all others , wherever they are from, and is happy to live and let live. My dear sister, keep being yourself. You will be rewarded by God and man for your obvious goodness of heart and character. |
Congratulation OP. Wishing you a happy and wonderful married life. You guys appear the perfect complement to each other. God bless and strengthen your union. |
OAUTemitayo:That's the spirit. God bless and strenghten you. It is your own future and that of children unborn you must fight for. Nigerians were seriously disenchanted with the PDP at the centre even 1n 2011. The "boy with no shoes" held hope because of what they claimed he is i.e man who is from the same ghetto as the masses and is , in theory, the best choice to side with and fight for what is in the best interest of the common man. Now Nigerians know they have been scammed same as you are angry at all the unfulfilled promises GEJ made to your particular interest group. "The only thing constant in life is change" and I believe Nigerians, a people forever hopeful of a bright future, will embrace change in 2015 as they did in 2011. The PDP bus has reached its last bus stop and all passengers have gotten off the bus of poverty, corruption, private jet elitism and anti-people wickedness. |
OAUTemitayo:I think Nigeria will surely reject the PDP. Jonathanians and TANdroids forget that GEJ totally and comprehensively shattered all the preconceived notions Nigerians held on to while the PDP ,over many years, plundered the nation i.e "e go better if we are rid of the old boys". That was precisely the sentiments GEJ benefited from in 2011. Nigerians know precisely what the PDP is but they voted for GEJ because of the belief that a 'young' and educated man who was from a poor background, with nothing at all to do with the past and the military, indicated the best hope for the deliverance of Nigeria. This simplistic thinking has now been overwhelmingly and emphatically discredited by the monumental corruption, anti-people mien, oligarchic elitism and misrule of GEJ. Now we all have overwhelming proof that the making of a great and pro-people leader has zilch to do with education, age, being born poor and from a minority ethnic group or having nothing to do with the military. If anything GEJ has proven that the 'new generation' could be greater thieves with a more callous readiness to serve the interest of the elite and private jet Oligarchs while ignoring average Nigerians. The PDP has no fresh product to sell and no decent report card to run on. Ethnocentric, prejudiced, anti-Nigerian and vengeful folks will do their best to support GEJ but I think this election , if the opposition get's it strategy right, will show these enemies of progress that Nigerians who are normal and simply desire a nation that works are far more than them numerically. |
http://saharareporters.com/2014/11/15/easy-pdp-defeat-sonala-olumhense As Easy As PDP (To Defeat) By Sonala Olumhense |
@Barcanista. Buhari is on course to get the ticket and I think, unlike the past, he will enjoy monumental and unanimous support this time around. your call is the right one but this is obvious to the leaders of the APC as well. It will be obvious to the most influential members of the APC that no Northern candidate other than Buhari can defeat the far-reaching machinations of the PDP. People forget that Tinubu is a pragmatist. They say he has supported Tambuwal yet look at the the 2011 elections where it was claimed Fashola had no chance of getting the APC ticket because Tinubu had "settled" on someone else. In the end Tinubu strongly came out to support Fashola who was never threatened as the best candidate to deliver Lagos for the now defunct ACN. Precisely the same situation with Buhari and the fight for the Presidency. |
Caseless:The fact is that fans of GEJ can never agree to this because their messiah is a monumental failure and disappointment to almost every Nigerian. When issues become entirely about the actions and inactions of GEJ then it will quickly become obvious he is a failure. This is why no Jonathanian can discuss even the few major problems of Nigeria I have shown Mr.President has failed to tackle or even worsened. A lot of Nigerians are ethnocentric and prejudiced folks who prefer to remain blind to what is crystal clear to the entire world. |
derecho:What more refinement are you looking for? Those messages you quote are even general comments of dissatisfaction. Yet you have time to highlight them and speak as if those commentators have said/done something wrong while you ignore my own detailed identification of specific major problems of Nigeria GEJ has failed to tackle or even worsened significantly. The bottom line, if we wish to be analytically "refined", is that we must be entirely honest in acknowledging and confronting leadership failure even if it is our father indicted of such. This is how it is done worldwide, because the interest of the majority is paramount above everything else, and this is what has led to Nations developing whereas we stagnate through persevering with failure and focusing on trivialities. |
derecho:Why waste time checking up on Dipo when you can simply inspect his message and give us your candid opinion on that and that alone? Doing what you have done make you appear a closet fan of GEJ who is not keen to admit this publicly but eager to do anything ,including shooting the messenger, to undermine what are clear-cut and indisputable indicators of leadership misrule and failure we are all trained to identify as educated men and women. Forget the messengers please. The messages are entirely correct. I have highlighted the major problems of Nigeria GEJ has done nothing about or even worsened. What say you about those issues raised considering that Nigeria will never develop until those specifically identified problems are tackled effectively? |
Arch1: omololu2020:Guys, ignore that ethnocentric and ultra-bigoted individual. The fact accepted universally is that GEJ has failed to have any impact whatsoever on the major problems that has always plagued Nigeria to ensure that our nation remains underdeveloped and backwards. In fact GEJ has taken us backwards in regards to the search for solutions to our major woes. Corruption, known worldwide to be a major reason why African nation remain basket cases, is best not mentioned under GEJ who is surely one of the most corruption-friendly leader in the universe !!! We have been told since time immemorial that our nation cannot develop committing over 70% of its annual spending to recurrent expenditure, at the expense of capital spendings, which only maintains waste, bloated governance and profligacy detrimental to the development of Nigeria. What has '10 airplanes' and 'billion Naira food' GEJ done to tackle this fundamental and crippling malaise? Has anyone seen a sincere reform of the Army, NPF, Secret services and other armed forces institutions to make them better at delivering on their core brief of protecting Nigerian lives and property? If anything our armed forces have never been this ineffective, demoralised and totally compromised to be turned into a third arm of government that does/says anything in the interest of the ruling PDP Party instead of striving to deliver in the best interest of Nigerians!!! The concept of strong and independent institution, vitally needed by Nigeria almost above all other considerations, has died a hideously comical death under GEJ !!!! Refining our oil optimally is essential as a complete game-changer for Nigeria because it means we produce enough refined derivative of crude to satisfy local demand while we can even go on to export a healthy volume of refined products which would seriously boost Nigeria's income significantly. We could also defeat scams against Nigeria initiated through rogue marketer conduct masquerading as "importation and supply" of refined oil. What has GEJ done to make this pivotal goal a reality? Absolutely nothing. If anything, GEJ has shown to the world, via binning the recommendation of the Ribadu petroleum task force, that he is a major part of the reason why graft continues to ail and cripple the Nigerian petroleum sector. Have we seen a reform of the home of corruption (NNPC) that continues to make billions of dollars disappear into thin air as if we are talking about 30 kobo? How about the ultra-important power sector that has now completely being taken over by the crony capitalism GEJ dubiously sold as "power privatisation" ? Till today power supply is worsening with no solution in sight simply because the hideously corrupt GEJ hijacked another laudable target to make it entirely about the enrichment of his cronies and the usual AGIPs all to the detriment of Nigeria? I could go on all day yet suffice to say honest and balanced folks who know the major problems of Nigeria, i.e those that have kept and will continue to keep Nigeria down, will agree GEJ is a monumental failure who has to leave for Nigeria to make real progress. |
Deiok:You're right. His comments were spot on and a truthful take on reality and the state of affairs today. Too much sentiments, prejudice, division and bigotry today in the land called Nigeria. Goodluck at least will take credit for the following;- building an industry of corruption in Nigeria; share, steal, loot and launder public resources with the instrumentality of the Presidency;, clueless leadership, divide Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines, ex militants and sponsors of terror groups being spokesperson of the Government and friends of the President, surrendering Nigeria to the hands of a cabal and criminals, the first president ever in our history to surrender Nigerian territories to invaders. The first president to voluntarily surrender territories of Nigeria bigger than the size of Togo and Ghana combined and with a population more than that of Benin Republic and Togo combined. |
OrlandoOwoh:Forgive him. Deprivation, poverty and lack of exposure can do that to anyone. This why there are so many Nigerians living in prehistoric conditions yet still happy to continue " suffering and smiling" while even supporting their oppressors and tormentors as the chap you quoted is doing. GEJ, without any doubt, has taken Nigeria backwards horribly and far more than any other since 1999. This is the truth any honest and pragmatic Nigeria, even if a direct brother of GEJ, will admit. |
idumuose:Surely you cannot be the original Idumuose. What are you up to? |
