The people of Ekiti are in for a very long drought!
Well, you make your bed and you lie in it. Rather than face the business of Governing Ekiti, Fayose is always to be found acting as the campaign manager for GEJ. It is ludicrous and Nigerians, whatever Party they support, should condemn this behaviour because we all live in States that need effective leadership and not in Aso Rock. Fayose should face the affairs of Ekiti squarely if indeed he has anything to offer the good folks of the State.

Pdp is bigger and stronger than any single individual including obj. So even the defection of obj to apc if it is true, is of no significance to pdp.
What political position is OBJ seeking which will warrant his defection? At his age and for what he has achieved I think it is easier for OBJ to operate in the background of partisan politics without anyone knowing where his allegiance lies. Fayose is trying too hard to impress GEJ with his senseless 'Rambo' style which does nothing but get him and his affiliates into trouble sooner or later.
PoliticsRe: Why I Respect Fashola And Tinubu by Gbawe: 12:45pm On Dec 07, 2014
barcanista:
what do you think about Alams/Jonathan relationship? Well the thing is when relationship is built on sincerity and "understanding" it will stand the test of time. No Governor wants to play second fiddle in control of the government that he or she heads. Had it been Fashola was/is a politician like Afikuyomi, GOS, Ikuforiji etc the story would have been different, because politicians just like Tinubu will want absolute control of both politicking and governance. In most PDP states their successors are politicians, there is clearly this conflict of interest. This is one reason Bola Tinubu will never support a typical politician to govern Lagos.
Not only Lagos my brother. Of all SW Governors Tinubu helped to power, it is only Aregbesola that can perhaps be viewed as a sagacious political player. Fashola, Ajimobi, Fayemi and Amosun are all entirely about administrative governance.
PoliticsRe: Why I Respect Fashola And Tinubu by Gbawe: 12:41pm On Dec 07, 2014
barcanista:
The BAT-BRF relationship is based on sincerity and trust and not manipulation and unnecessary power struggle. Tinubu was sincere he what he wants, he needs a technocrat that will face the business of governance while he focuses on the politicking for himself, his followers, his state and on behalf of the governor. He singlehandedly drafted fashola into the guber race in 2007 and was very clear to him, "Work for Lagos". He isn't interested in dictating policies for fashola, however, he believes(and still hold such belief) that credible people that worked for Fashola election and other of his candidate must be allowed to serve within the cabinet. Hence, the policy in Lagos is that the party, not the Governor nominates commissioners, however, the governor is given slot. Tinubu is not interested in taken credit for Fashola's achievement neither is Fashola interested in taking over the political structure, which is the basis of their relationship. Jagaban isn't interested in Fashola praising him at every fora, neither is he interested in blaming Fashola or criticising him publicly. He allow him face governance, while Fashola allows tinubu face the politicking of Lagos. This is different from what is obtained in PDP.

Is it ethically or morally justified? As long as it doesn't undermine the integrity of the government or subvert the provisions of the constitution, it is fine!
Indeed. I think Fashola and Tinubu will always be fine because both are motivated by different things that are not mutually exclusive or damaging to their relationship. Tinubu was a competent and visionary Governor whose administrative talent was stifled by the vengeful OBJ Presidency yet it is as a political Godfather and kingmaker that Tinubu came into his own fully.

Fashola, on the other end, is entirely about administrative focus and efficiency. Fashola does not have the guile or brawn to be a politician Nigerian-style. To that extent their relationship works as a mutually respectful one. As with every relationship there may be rifts and misunderstandings now and then but these get resolved in the end because the two men involved are relatively intelligent, pragmatic and reasonable.
PoliticsRe: Ex-president Is An APC Member – Fayose by Gbawe: 9:59am On Dec 07, 2014
This Ayo Fayose is so unrefined and uncouth. Always has been and always will be. Jonathan is desperately seeking to build bridges to aid his 2015 ambition, via sending peace emissaries to OBJ, and Fayose is foolishly destroying everything with his uncouth and bellicose 'motor-mouth'. Good for the APC that the SW PDP is full of uncontrollable, politically unintelligent and impulsive thugs like 'Korobucci', George, Fayose et al. Fayose is beginning to 'pay back' GEJ for the trust the naive President reposed in this ultra-divisive and destructive character to be his 2015 SW 'garrison commander'.
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidential Election: My Conditions To Campaign For GEJ — Gov Sule Lamido by Gbawe: 6:48am On Dec 07, 2014
OrlandoOwoh:
Sule Lamido shouldn't be seen as coward even though the situation he finds himself makes him show some uncertainty. He has his son to protect. We all know how Jonathan went about using the EFCC against his son. If you read carefully, you will see where he mentioned EFCC.
Unfortunately, the tag of cowardice will stick to Lamido same as an animal who is always in the mud with Pigs will be called a Pig also. Do we forget 2010 so soon when Lamido was a vociferous opponent to GEJ's Presidential ambition only to then turn champion campaigner for Jonathan because of how selfish personal ambition made him believe supporting GEJ, against his innate conviction and original posture, means he would have a clear path to 2015? Lamido swallowed the "I will do one term" promise of GEJ and based all his actions on this insincere pledge GEJ had no intention of abiding with.

GEJ has now blatantly let Lamido and others down but we continue to see the lack of spine Lamido operates with because something else (corruption exposure against him and his family) is now holding him hostage today when he contradicted himself in 2011 and let many down because of personal ambition. It is obvious to many that there will always be one thing or the other to use in whipping Lamido in line as is always the case for unprincipled characters and charlatans. Laughable that Lamido now wants to portray himself a man who act in the interest of the greater good of Nigeria when intelligent political analysts will know his actions and capitulation shows an unprincipled character willing to follow the direction of the wind so long as that aids the pursuit of his personal agenda.
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidential Election: My Conditions To Campaign For GEJ — Gov Sule Lamido by Gbawe:
FastShipping:
Sule Lamido is an azz. He was all over the place in 2011 insulting his people and campaigning for GEJ with the hope he would be allowed be President in 2015. He was everywhere in 2011 insulting, castigating Buhari and opposition figures. GEJ dealt him a low blow by exposing his corrupt side with his thieving sons. When he realized he wouldn't be allowed to become the flag bearer, he started looking for ways to get his two thieving sons out of corruption charges as FFK did. The stupid Lamido really thought GEJ was going to run for one term.

Poor you stupid Lamido. cheesy cheesy
Indeed. Unfortunately for Lamido, things have changed immensely to leave his self-serving calculations in tatters. Lamido is now viewed with cynicism by many of his peers. He appears to lack conviction and ,like Governor Aliyu, is another 'turncoat' character always playing to the gallery by saying what people want to hear yet perpetually lacking the character to 'walk the walk'. Politically, Lamido is now caught between a rock and a very hard place.

Okupe: APC will Crumble and Disappear by 2014

24 Apr 2013

Says power supply will stabilise by 2014

Our Correspondents
The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, Tuesday described the merger of opposition political parties on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a weak association that would crumble and disappear by 2014, a year to the general election.

Okupe, who paid a courtesy visit to THISDAY corporate office in Apapa, Lagos, dismissed the view that the merger would rout the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next election, noting that the forces behind the merger are not serious-minded people capable of causing a major upset in national politics.

While hinging his prediction on the projection that the president's joker, which is stable electricity, would have been attained by 2014, Okupe noted that if stable power which is critical to the opposition would be punctured and rendered ineffective

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Progressives_Congress

All Progressives Congress

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is a Nigerian political party formed on 6 February 2013 in anticipation of the 2015 elections.[3][4][5]

Formation[edit]
Formed in February 2013, the party is the result of an alliance by Nigeria's four biggest opposition parties – the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) – merged to take on the People's Democratic Party

PoliticsRe: Governor Fashola, You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourself! by Gbawe: 10:12am On Dec 06, 2014
@OP.

You are always working yourself up over nothing. Fashola is more a technocrat than a politician. Tinubu is not only one of the most brilliant political strategists in Nigeria but he is also a consummate political godfather and kingmaker. When you learn the difference between Tinubu and Fashola and are able to put issues in perspective then you will not come here ranting rabidly against Fashola.

These APC People self. ah ah
Look you don't play politics by abusing the president. Edwin Clark has every right to be worried about GEJ's safety, because the way and leaders abuse and talk about him is very very uncivilized. when they abuse him, they feel good but when any of GEJ's supporters talk back, the person has committed a mortal sin. Just read the comments above by apc boys and you will marvel at how animalistic they are. What exactly did the man say that is bad or wrong? Going by the way you people abuse GEJ. you have change your ways and act civilized for once, you don't have the monopoly of abuses or violence.
Please try and speak as if you are exposed and know what obtains beyond Nigeria. Harsh criticism of the ruling Party ,especially if it is failing the people seriously as is the case with Nigeria, is not unique to our nation. Yet people like you, unique to Nigeria, must always embrace sentiments to insinuate that justified and passionate criticism of an ultra-failed Presidency is a personalised attack against GEJ rather than a struggle to agitate always for what is in the best interest of 170 million Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: APC Leaders May Kill Jonathan Before February Presidential Election –Edwin Clark by Gbawe: 9:53am On Dec 05, 2014
This is very careless talk from Clark. It will only heat up an already very hot polity. No one is planning to assassinate a President Nigerians themselves are ready to take out with their vote.

Now that it is officially confirmed, I heartily congratulate Ambode and wish him success in the main election. Congratulations to the APC for conducting a highly transparent , free and fair gubernatorial primaries. Hamzat put up a good showing and must be commended . Same for all others who took part. GOS should not return to the Senate, he has been there since 2007, prior to that he was in Reps for 4years. GOS should be nominated for a role in the Party at the National level with optimism of being nominated in a federal board or parastatal under the APC administration of Muhammadu Buhari. Lagos Central I heard that PDP will present Dr. Ade Dosunmu, if Fashola wish to go to the Senate he should be given the ticket(assuming he's denied VP slot), if not then Remi should return but mind you a Remi on the ballot Vs Dosunmu will be a tough one for Lagos Central. As for Ashafa, he should be allowed to return to the Senate.
#my opinion
I think the General has settled on Fashola and he may push forward with that choice if he wins which I am fairly sure will be the case. So far, Buhari has not been cowered or intimidated by the religious Hawks in the APC who are insisting it must not be a Muslim-Muslim ticket. The General wants Fashola to be his VP and is personally convinced that running with the Lagos Governor is his best chance of winning.
PoliticsRe: Kudos To Lagos APC!! Truly Tinubu Is A Collosus. by Gbawe:
My brother, this is why I said nada throughout yesterday when folks talked up their various choices for the APC ticket because I knew it would not even be close. I had already stated it here previously that Ambode would win and that he would win convincingly regardless of the strength of those facing him.

One thing a lot of people do not know and never account for is that Tinubu is a master at what happens before an election i.e planning and negotiating to win. This is where the man is head and shoulders above everyone else. When his candidate then emerges the winner people will begin talking of "one man show" and "imposition" without giving Tinubu credit for his very difficult behind-the-scene work he always puts 150% into.

The man is not a crude bully as many seem to think and he has a hand in majority of the positives the APC is witnessing including, as one example, the defection of Tambuwal and his eventual emergence as the APC gubernatorial candidate of Sokoto. What is not known or made public about Tinubu is far, far more than interesting and pleasantly surprising than what people think they know of the man.

The APC governorship aspirant, Ambode, earlier today bribed most of the 600 delegates in Lagos state with $25000 each. And asked them to make an oath that they will not vote for anyone else afterwards. Openly, he claimed all the 600 delegates are in his pocket. With $25000, are they not?
It is a sad development, because the lives of some of the delegates have also be threatened. Should'nt the election be free and fair? If APC are doing this in Lagos state, why are then are they blaming PDP for imposition?
This is not the democracy we are asking for. If Ambode, Kuforiji or Shasore paint themselves well, then let the delegates decide. But not by bribing, oath making or life threatened message...SAD and SHAMEFUL...
