@OP.

At least Mbaka, unlike many who sit on the fence making 'safe' predictions like T.B Joshua, Oyedepo et al. appears to have stuck out his neck when it was most risky and unprofitable to do.

For many Nigerians, that was the moment Mbaka showed he is on the side of what will improve the lot of the average man whereas his pastorpreneur buddies (like Oritsejafor. Oyedepo et al) chose to openly back the the continuation of the evil and destructive reign of GEJ in a manner that betrays the Christian faith's dedication to supporting what is good and just for humanity.

Leave Mbaka alone. He has distinguished himself , because he refused to do what others were doing, and now has the moral right to support or castigate Buhari unlike the many money - hungry sycophants who stood and watched while Nigeria burned and the terrible GEJ was about to bribe his way to a second term.

Nigerian older men like Fayose should learn to set an example for younger folks as per how to carry and present themselves gracefully, elegantly and stylishly. I personally do not care whether Fayose is 'hosting' his mistress in London or not since most Nigerian leaders, especially the wealthy ones, are sleazy like that anyway. What I find unacceptable is Fayose trying to dress young when he looks ridiculous doing so.

Look at the 'pregnancy' pot belly and chunky figure donning a hoody t-shirt. Oga Fayose stick to your flattering agbada or 'slimming' buba-style Nigerian clothing . you look hideous in that get up same way many obese African ladies look awful squeezing themselves distastefully into the tightest outfit that is about 6 sizes too small for them. You can always tell a lot about someone from their appreciation ( or lack thereof) of how to dress appropriately and in a classy way that fits what they are 'working with'.

Funny people. Please look for fuel for your gas poisoning generator while not sure when your next salary will be paid. Make I quick open my shop. I'm expecting a lorry load of good today. Happy new year.

Learn to leave Yorubas alone and face your own issues and challenges. Nigerians, not only Yorubas, can complain about Nigeria today under Buhari but that is the nature of the nation we have created whereby adults, because they have been mentally underdeveloped by poverty and deprivation, want issues like lack of electricity to be resolved in a few months while they are happy to remain ignorant about how much it cost to generate a megawatt when that financial challenge comes at a time Nigeria's income is now at least 60% what it used to be.

You should, as one example, be showing less educated/exposed Nigerians that it is difficult to create jobs in a recession and economic downturn allied to the very unique situation where a nation with a mono economy like Nigeria (dependent largely on income from crude oil sales) sees it earning power decline massively in a short period of time (less than 12 months in the case of Nigeria). Instead you are the unpatriotic and bitter sort who will perversely misinform others that jobs are not available because "Yorubas are evil" and because "Buhari is a dullard leader" merely because the terrible GEJ, who caused majority of the problems we face today, was booted out and you blame the Yorubas for that development.

People like you, despite the expensive education your parents paid for, stay on the sideline fermenting ethnic disunity and bias-based sabotage against Nigeria when you should be an 'enabler' helping others to see what is important so we may all have the nation we want, for ourselves and our children, in the near future. I pity you. You think you are harming and fighting the Yorubas but you are only harming and fighting yourself and your generations unborn. Did the Yorubas singlehandedly make Nigeria a mono economy? How about the SS President your sort shield from blame who could only loot his own region, with minions like Orubebe and Allison-Madueke et al, that produces the main income of Nigeria today when he had 5 long years to make to make a difference for his people and Nigeria at large?

http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_mono_economy

A mono-economy is a economy relying on one major export or natural resource to bring most of the currency into the country.

These cowardly recourse to one 'sickness' or the other is getting sickening for Nigerians who merely want to see the speedy prosecution and punishment of all the looters who have gotten us where we are today.

So we are to believe GEJ was being "democratic " by letting common criminals and opportunistic marauders loot Nigeria blind while ruining literally millions of lives in the process?

I really feel sorry for Nigeria because we are going nowhere with citizens who do not understand the role and duties of our President to the extent they confuse such with thinking he is there to 'Mumu' while the commonwealth of the people is looted copiously or mismanaged idiotically with zero jnterest in planning or preparing for stringent periods in future . Majority of PDP sympathisers are simply perverse enemies of Nigeria's progress with how they will see the truth and still engage in ridiculous lies. Your submissions above have no basis in fact.

From every known record available, SMEs witnessed tremendous growth in the last 16 years than any time in the history of Nigeria.

Records also indicate that there was significant increase in the number of middle class in Nigeria in the last 16 years.

Nonsense. I am not talking of the 419 "Nigeria biggest economy in Africa after rebasing" type of scam that is merely abracadabra PDP is fond of deceiving Nigerians with. In real terms, the Nigerian SME sector is moribund and worthless. That is the reality you may not be willing to accept because you are a biased apologist of the PDP or GEJ. Do you know what vibrant and prolific SME sectors contribute to the biggest economies of the world to the extent they are called the "lifeblood" of those economies?

God bless you OP and may he shower an abundance of blessing unto you and yours going into the new year and beyond. One has to praise the Nigerians, like you, with the clarity of vision to see what is actually going on while also understanding what must be done to rescue our nation from the 16 year 'black hole' the PDP has sunk her in. PDP has led since 1999 yet where are the 'rainy day' buffers , now that oil is selling for around $35.00 per barrel under Buhari, when oil sold for over $100.00 per barrel for most of the 5 years GEJ was President? Where is the diversified and robustly flexible economy the PDP had 16 years to deliver? What is the fate of the SME (small to medium enterprise) sector that is the lifeblood of the most developed economies in the world? In fact the SME completely disintegrated under the PDP !!! We must also ask why the PDP, over 16 long years , has failed to provide the constant power and robust infrastructure every adult worldwide understand is a critical requirement for the robust and sustainable socio-economic growth of Nigeria.

This is the hand Buhari and the APC have been dealt and anyone expecting a miracle in a few months is simply an unrealistic and highly simplistic individual who makes no allowance in their thinking for facts and the reality of what Nigeria is facing.

Like I tell my friends, Nigeria is facing worse than the credit crunch depression that crippled the economies of many western nations to the extent even leading and exemplary economies like the UK are only finding their feet today many years after the credit crunch and with economic stimulus measures such as keeping interest rates at an all time low of 0.5% for more than 6 years !!!!!!!

It would be better if some Nigerians take time educate themselves about the problems we face, courtesy of the mismanagement and corruption of the PDP, instead of constituting themselves into a menace and a headache for the Buhari government,. All. hands are needed on deck because this is what is required for the extent of the damage done by the PDP. The moment some Nigerians accept that we are in a serious economic downturn, albeit man-made, that is the moment they will understand they must be a part of the solution instead of making themselves a part of the problem with the ignorant and baseless demand for a miracle in a few months when the national income, diversified economy, strong SME contribution et al is simply not available to spur the sort of economic growth and well-being some want to see. When jobs were not created at a time we sold oil, which is responsible for 80% of our national income, at $110.00 per barrel is it now that oil is selling for $35.00 per barrel that employment will be booming? Nigerians need to think deeper, accept reality and make incrementally realistic demands.

I know sey nothing do you. Good to see you have seen what we saw back then. Hope you now agree that "Johnny B Goode" (as you liked to call GEJ) is no good at all as some of us always insisted. It was not personal. Some of us just saw through GEJ very early to know he is not at all cut out for leadership at the level he was placed in. The office, plus the rapacious crooks and self-serving hawks attached to it, simply overwhelmed a very simple but patently unprincipled man who would have been happy retiring a local government chairman to spend the rest of his days sipping 'local wine' with his pals in a sleepy bar in Otuoke. Buhari is one of the very few capable of doing what it takes to turn Nigeria round and I am glad you see this too.

I totally agree with you. What could be more wicked, callous and downright ungodly than diverting funds meant to fight a murderous terrorist group towards a desperation to 'win' an undeserved electoral victory? Till the end GEJ and the PDP kept stabbing and killing Nigerians after causing them so much pain. Now they have the nerve to criticise Buhari and the APC when this is a Party they left with only debts and no 'rainy day' savings at a time oil, responsible for 80% of our total national income, has plummeted in price from highs of $110.00 per barrel (under GEJ) to £37.00 dollars per barrel today. You wonder the demons and devils in the PDP that they are still able to open their mouths and criticise the APC and Buhari of not performing economic miracles only 7 months after they left Nigeria in the worst and most criminal condition any government in the world can leave a Nation in for a successor. I personally feel that GEJ should be held accountable for the looting he supervised because of the destructive and disgusting scale of it all.

They are talking money/crumbs trickling down to them from the largesse of PDP/GEJ corruption and looting. Those boys are simply not enlightened enough to know that it is better a government teach them to fish than give them a big fish once every year or around election time. It has to get worse before it gets better because GEJ stole and squandered every kobo when we sold oil at $100.00 per barrel for many years and earned trillions of Naira. Today oil is around $37.00 per barrel. That is a 60% loss of earnings in a sector that provides 80% of total income of Nigeria !!!

Factor in the reality that GEJ and the PDP put no 'rainy day' buffer in place, instead preferring to loot Nigeria dry, and it becomes obvious to even a child that this is not a time anyone will see a flush economy, bouyant growth, job creation etc, etc. GEJ and the PDP did not cause oil price to crash but they certainly did not help to prepare us for it with their unpatriotic act of looting everything available.

This was my assertion also. In fact I went further to say GEJ was a very dangerous President because of how he created a gangster paradise where miscreant with no conscience suddenly found themselves in charge of very sensitive processes, contracts and positions that gave them unfettered access to the wealth of Nigeria. Imagine handing pipeline protection contracts to militia groups (OPC for example) all for the sake of winning an election? GEJ does not yet appreciate that what he has done, to include ruining literally millions of lives, will haunt him and his generations unborn. GEJ has the blood and death of many Nigerians on his hand. The man is very wicked and callous. I am not and will never be one of those who think he is a "gentle" individual "led astray" by others.

Spare this crap to those gullible enough to lap them in. The shenanigans of the APC led government is unfolding and Nigerians are keenly observing and taking notes.

You are just ignorant and totally unexposed and this is why you can dismiss fact-based argument as "crap". There is no 'shenanigans' as you put it and any reasonable person with a sound knowledge of how nations are run will understand the depth and severity of the challenges the APC is facing and why simple-minded folks, who deliberately fail to educate themselves, will never appreciate that the sort of 'change' they are insisting on seeing cannot be delivered in months. When you don't see employment everywhere you begin shouting "the change is fake" yet what jobs are you going to see created at a time when government is struggling seriously, because of a 60% shortfall in income, to even fund its own affairs and pay the workers currently under its employment?

Are you guys for real at all? How can jobs be created in a seriously depressed economy? Britain is a perfect example with how unemployment and retrenchment, because many businesses had to lay workers off, was high at the beginning of the credit crunch-led recession. It was only after addressing the underpinning issues that jobs, prosperity and economic growth began to return years after the worst period hit many nations hard. Nigeria has been hit far worse because, courtesy of the PDP, we do not even have 'rainy day' buffers/savings, a diversified economy and lack a vibrant SME sector which is the life blood of the economy of many developed nation. We do not have those instruments to use in aiding the sort of recovery far more robust economies could not manage in three-four years yet Buhari and the APC have to do literally everything from scratch !!!!!

As if that task is not difficult enough, the Government has to contend with those, like you, who are educated yet totally fail to rise above ignorance and pettiness to then be part of a joint effort to repair the horrendous damage 16 years of PDP rule has done. I really feel sorry for Nigeria because it is a nation that is very unlucky in the sense that Nigerians are the greatest of their own nation.

You guys make me laugh with your deliberate acts of omission and commission which seeks to blur the lines so that Nigerians do not know who to blame for their predicament. The bottom line is that it is the cumulative policies and unpatriotic actions/looting of PDP Presidents since 1999 that has gotten us where we are today. There is no way to spin that simple fact. Any reasonable person would give the APC a reasonable amount of time to fix what, courtesy of the PDP, amounts to greater economic woes than developed western nations were able to overcome when many became economically distressed some years ago.

APC will continue blaming GEJ tenure untill their own tenure elapse,no sentiment this APC government does not even know how to fix this government, the APC government promise Nigerians change, and indeed we are witnessing the change, from the very onset I knew APC was a scam.

Buddy, APC is not a "scam". You are the only one ignoring and denying the obvious, to then scam yourself, because of innate prejudice that precludes you from giving credit or support to the Buhari government where due.

Have you been on Mars to have missed revelations that shows GEJ and his PDP gang have looted Nigeria into poverty going into a period where oil, Nigeria's main income, is now at an all time low of $35.00 per barrel from the high of $100.00 - $110.00 per barrel that was almost constant throughout the 4 years the thieving and very wicked GEJ was President?

When I read that Buhari "does not even know how to fix this government" I immediately realise, with all due respect, I am reading the submission of a very ignorant person. Oil is Nigeria's main source of wealth accounting for around 80% of total income. This is so because of military rulers and then 16 years of democratic rule under the PDP during which the Nigerian economy was myopically and dangerously allowed to be completely reliant on the oil wealth of Nigeria. It is income from oil wealth that services virtually the entire operation of government and provides for capital spending which impacts heavily on the economy.

Do you need a rocket scientist to tell you there can be no miracle or overnight abracadabra that can reverse a situation where Nigeria worked with earnings of $108.00 per barrel of oil now reduced to $35.00 per barrel of oil especially as the previous government had looted the nation dry to ensure no 'rainy day savings' is in place to help Nigeria weather the storm during periods like this? Also consider all these tragedies and misfortune have converged at a time when the abysmal failure of the PDP to diversify the Nigerian economy away from over-reliance of oil, over 16 long years, is now making situations a million times worse to mend !!! Yet you unreasonable and unpatriotic folks continue to distract Buhari rather than give him your full support considering what he is trying to reverse.

What has happened to Nigeria, courtesy of 16 years of PDP rule culminating in the disastrous 5 years rule of GEJ, is far worse than the credit crunch saga that plunged many of the worlds largest economies into recession and economic doldrums for a long time !!! How long do you think it took Britain, USA et al to recover from that and be where they are today? Is it the 7 months you ignorant folks are giving Buhari to turn Nigeria into Dubai despite the very severe challenges, caused by the PDP, your kind deliberately choose to remain blind to? I can only give you a clue by saying the UK is still recovering today. Do you know that the credit crunch virtually destroyed nations like Greece, Portugal and Ireland to the extent erstwhile proud nations needed the EU to support and bail them out?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financialcrisis/8150137/Ireland-forced-to-take-EU-and-IMF-bail-out-package.html

What is wrong with you people? Do you hate others so much you cannot even do the adult thing of seeing and acknowledging the truth?

You and others should get this and get it once and for all. There is going to be no miracle cure for the Nigerian economy because the damage the PDP has done, combined with the massive decline in oil price the PDP did not save or prepare for, means we are in big trouble. It is only an austere, determined, principled and brave man like Buhari who can save us and guide us towards the path of recovery. Your 'brilliant' NOI (Okonjo-Iweala) turned out to be nothing but another complicit crook with an expensive CV. She contributed directly to where we are today and became a deceptive mouthpiece for the looting of our national wealth. If you want to be a productive citizen then educate yourself thoroughly about what Nigeria is facing, and what must be done to reverse our woes, before making ignorant and annoying submissions.

Buhari's approach of recovering stolen wealth, sanitising the oil sector, cutting waste, diversifying the Nigerian economy aggressively et al are absolutely the right and immediately required steps a serious and focused leader can take. If you want to listen to the deceptive noise of those who caused the problem , i,e the PDP, that a 'miracle cure' exist for the economy than that is your own wahala. They already deem you ignorant and 'malleable' anyway and this is why they peddle falsehood they think you and many Nigerians do not have the intellectual prowess to see through. The fact is that the Nigerian economy, because the PDP papered over the cracks for 16 years with deceit and mago-mago, is sick in ways such that no 'fix' can be seen without the addressing of some very fundamental problems. Let me give you an example. You are building a mansion. Your business is thriving selling aluminium and you sell each sheet for $60,00. Your children attend nice schools and you employ and pay a chef, driver, gardener et al. Lo and behold the price of aluminium crash to $10.00 per sheet. How ignorant would I be if I start harassing you to continue building your mansion at the same pace and splendour when you have far less money to put into the project than you did previously? Should I be insisting you keep on your staff you can hardly pay, because of business hardship, or even be demanding you hire more workers? Does it not make sense I give you time to steady your personal ship and perhaps allow you to look at other options that mean you won't be entirely reliant on your aluminium business alone for your survival and livelihood? You guys really need to think and act maturely because constituting yourselves into saboteurs, when you know the truth. You and yours will suffer too unless you see, say and support what is right.

I would really love, even for once, for you millions of 'economic gurus' and geniuses to propose clearly and without ambiguity what Buhari and the APC should do to deliver the 'miracle fix' you want given the real challenges facing the Nigerian economy that even the brightest brains behinds the world's top economy did not surmount in under 2 years when they faced economic woes far less than Nigeria is facing today.

even those celebrities, comedians, nollywood and co. will be invited..

like GEJ was just dishing out money to anybody he feels happy with..

SMH... what a tragedy

They simply shared the wealth of 170 million people amongst themselves shamelessly. Anyone who thinks Buhari will back down from bringing those responsible to book, whoever they may be, is simply delusional and unexposed. They need to leave Nigeria to see that most nations of the world will not fold its arms and watch individuals threaten and cower the officially elected Government with the mandate to use whatever is at its disposal in the interest of the nation and against anyone/group who threaten such interests.

For many Nigerians, it is simply a problem of lack of exposure and this is why they think a local 'alagbara' (strongman) like Tompolo will now be bigger than the Government because GEJ and others before him allowed that to be the case. The uncompromising Buhari knows what it takes to bravely lead for the 170 million regardless of whose Ox is gored. This is why Nnamdi Kanu is in detention and likely to face a serious jail term despite all the "touch director and Nigeria will burn" noise that Buhari simply ignored. About time we had a President like this as well since others before him have made many worthless elements to believe that impunity reigns and is profitable in Nigeria. Patriotic Nigerians who mean well for Nigeria are all behind Buhari solidly.

"almighty" tompolo going into hiding? E don red meehn! cheesy cheesy cheesy

I used to think this guy was bigger than the government as some made us to believe

Well, 'he might be bigger than GEJ's government, but never Buhari's' grin grin

Beautiful !!!! Powerful statement. A President that does not understand that no single individual or group must hold a nation to ransom, especially not the biggest black nation on earth, is not fit to be President of Nigeria. Under GEJ common brigands threatened Nigeria and GEJ feebly and weakly looked away till many were encouraged to join the show of shame. Buhari is a proper leader who will not hesitate to deal with Tompolo, Asari-Dokunu, Gani Adams or anyone else because he knows that the battle is lost when Government, with all its legal might and inherent power, start kowtowing to individuals or militias groups and their leaders. Someone needs to make the myopic followers of GEJ understand that Buhari is very different to their very weak messiah.

Politics / Re: PDP Will Sack Buhari In 2019 -bode George by Gbawe: 9:55am On Dec 12, 2015
Clown. Kowa sef is waxing stronger than the PDP that is now on life support. The scale of thieving the Party carried out against Nigeria, now being revealed daily, is the final nail in the coffin of that "nest of killers". Bode George will die a bitter, frustrated and disappointed old man.

It's really sad cry

After all the votes he got from the north? Even if Dasuki or Matawalle didn't vote for him, we know folks from their villages did. So why couldn't he think of them and forgive?

In fact this is the height of treachery angry

Fine point you make here my brother. Whatever happened to Northern Solidarity and being your brother's keeper regardless of what he has done wrong? So what if many died because of the looting of these individuals? Does Buhari not know this is the Nigeria way? Why should he be insisting people pay for their corrupt looting of our treasury and wealth? Northerners must now be regretting their vote for "change" because Buhari is now prosecuting their elite rather than giving them each brand new and freshly cut keys to the CBN vaults. This Buhari sef !!! What a nuisance.

\why pour sand for people garri ? Why can't Buhari just learn from GEJ and mind his own business? Why not look the other way and let 'awon boyz' eat? Is school fees in top UK and US schools peanuts? Does the man not understand the billions that must be stolen to fund that lifestyle? Northerners and "Yaribas" una see ya life? The man you voted in is demanding accountability and you are the major victims being hounded left, right and centre. Non of this would be happening under GEJ but you stubborn people insisted on change. Oya enjoy your 'change' then. Yeye people.

You've just successfully spewed out rubbish! So Fayose is your political giant in south west? Some people spend precious time to type before thinking through what they've posted. Smh

Indeed. Over the past few years, and much as I have tried, I have found myself unable to retain my respect for many Nigerians because of how they speak and think. How can anyone, in any nation on earth in 2015, be praising a politician for no other quality than being loud and "giving the opposition a run for their money"? Are governors primarily voted in to do that, i.e play opposition supremo to the detriment of those who voted them into office, or should their primary duty be a focus on doing everything that facilitates the socio-economic progress of those that elected them into office? I.e Ekiti folks in the case of Fayose. What has Fayose achieved as an administrator considering this is the only thing a politically sophisticated and aware citizen must judge him on?

Nigerians are always seeking the wrong things from politicians and this is why political leaders are happy to let the masses down. They know Nigerians have low expectation and will even hail them as role models for cutting pomo and fish in the market and for eating at a local Buka.Imagine praising a politician (Fayose) as a SW "political giant" because of noise-making and agbero conduct? Awolowo must be grimacing in his grave today at the backwardness of some Nigerian minds when he has a right to expect us to be far more mentally advanced than when he was leading us.

This topic is testimony to the notion that democratic independence and thinking is deepening in Nigeria
Otherwise how on earth can the world-acclaimed Fashola be compared to the empty barrel showman called Fayose?

True democracy, where they are both allowed to contest for the same political position, is the only thing that links Fashola and Fayose. They are world's apart in terms of administrative talent, refinement, intellect, application, vision and much more.
