its all about the suv, the houses, unforunately almost everybody in Nigeria is striving hard to have these things, everybody want a house in parkview, everybody want to have a 200,000 naira phone, everybody want to show off to thier next door neighbour
no harm in aspiring to be successful, but we need to reevaluate the meaning of success, our society celebrate anybody that has material things, regardless of their source,kings award them with chieftancy titles, even churches make them leaders in the congregation without asking for their source of wealth
the other day i read about the lautech student whose private part was used for money rituals, people like these will also be celebrated in our society, its sick and sad, God help us, lets re evalute our value system

wealth and riches are good if acquired in good ways at the right time and if the intention is to contribute positively to the lives of the people around us

The purpose of money is to afford the good things of life, we work to get money to provide for our needs, money is not meant to be stored
There is nobody who does not pay bills, either you buy recharge cards from mike adenuga or you pay vigilantes to watch your house and buy diesel or petrol to run your generator and pumping machine

if people want more money so that they can afford more in life or have excess , so as to pay their bills and have reserve, they should look for more human problems to solve or increase their skills and they will get more income( this applies anywhere on planet earth)

living in the uk: good health servioe, freedom to walk around at 1am without looking back, working system at least to a high extent, good and affordable education for your kids, no vigilantes or night guards banging on ur gate to show that they are hardworking, anything happens to u , u call for an ambulance and they show up in 10 minutes,meanwhile there is nothing that says if you live abroad you can not be rich, as a matter of fact i know very successful Nigerians abroad, that Made their money legitimately

[b]living in Naija: big money( if you are one of the few that have it), if u are lucky or connected, or have a decent well paying job, or if u have a godfather that initiates you into cult or politics, you have to pay for vigilantes,opc, dig your own bore hole,buy petrol or diesel, visit someone at 9pm and they tell you you can not go home because its too late, or you can not go from lagos to ibadan at night because of armed robbers, you can have good deals , make big money and buy 8 to 10 cars that you park most of the time, you can have a personal driver for 10$ a day,who can plan with armed robbers to come and rob you and kill you , because he wants " to make it too" , your wife can work in a bank till 11pm and the boss may pressurise her to sleep with hIM, you need to pay millions for your childrens school fees, because they have personal laptops and they go to london every summer or they have an admin assistant that has british accent

i dont personally know OBJ and i have never benefited from him directly, but i think we need to give the man some credit, am not saying he is a
saint, but i believe before obasanjo came into power, Nigeria was in a state of no hope, the atmosphere was very tensed, we were under a lot of pressure, have a flash back to Abacha's tenure pls, it was a terrible atmosphere, an average youth would do anything to escape from the country

When Obj came in, the tension was reduced, sense of belonging came back to at least a lot of Nigerians, that was when the GSM came in, a lot of multinationals came in and international relations with countries outside Nigeria became at least better

i remember there was no way a young man would go to the british or American embassy and you will be granted visa, but from the time of obj, people started doing more businesses, and funny enough most young people dont want to stay abroad when they travel now, back in those days American visa was like gold, if you got it there was no way you would go back to Nigeria

am sorry to say, with all respect to Northerners in the house, hausas were pretty much determining what happened in Nigeria, they were so strong that Nigeria was practically ruled by a clique, but obasanjo came in and broke that strong clique to an extent , pls lets give this man some credit, even though he could have done better

a 16 million naira jeep does not gaurantee free flow of traffic , my very rich uncle was shot by armed robbers, they rushed him to 2 private hospitals in lagos and he died because there was no blood in the first one, even though he was rich and highly connected
the quality of life of a security gaurd in the usa may be better than that of a billionare in lagos, and am not talking about the number of cars in the compound, am talking about prompt medical service, fire service and fair judicial system, thats how u determine good life

SOMEONE MENTIONED EARLIER THAT THIS HOSPITAL IS A BUSINESS AND THEY ARE IN BUSINESS TO MAKE PROFIT, I QUITE AGREE WITH THIS, THE HOSPITAL SHOULD NOT OPERATE AT A LOSS, BUT I THINK THERE SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL WHEN IT COMES TO HOSPITALS HANDLING LIFE AND DEATH SITUATIONS,THE LAW SHOULD MAKE IT MANDATORY FOR HOSPITALS TO TREAT PEOPLE IN LIFE AND DEATH SITUATIONS, ANY HOSPITAL THAT REFUSES TO TREAT SUCH PATIENTS SHOULD HAVE THEIR LICENSE REVOKED
