IT PAINS ME WHEN I SEE CAPABLE STUDENTS, OUTSTANDING STUDENTS, STUDENTS WHO ARE HAVE PASSION FOR MEDICINE BEEN DUMPED TO MICROBIOLOGY IN OAU.
And then u see average guys, guys who you know u are 10 times better than, guys who go from one party to another and they are in medicine department. All they know about is chasing ladies.
Then you ask yourself what is wrong.
Then You ask yourself are u not hardworking
You ask yourself didn't u read the right material for post UTME.
There was this guy in your set I mean microbiology in oau
His name is olaniyi abiodun Jeremiah . Check him out I know u will know him. Current part 2 microbiologyHe had the highest cgpa in in microbiology if not the highest in the whole of biological sciences.
He had a cgpa of either 4.93 or 4.92.
He went for change of course to medicine he was not given.
He was frustrated he opted in for jamb.
Last year cuttoff for mbbs was 275.5 and he had 273,
Still he saw a lot of people that had 250 266 and even 3 people that had 235 and they were admitted to mbbs. He had to lobby for med rehab which is physiotherapy before he was given.
He is currently in part one med rehab.
You see they have altered the guy career
i know abbey na, despite his gp he wasn't able to cross becos that time the provost frantically told us that there is no space, that whoever want's to get medicine should write jamb again, t'was sad then.

I repeat I am not here to criticize or ridicule anybody, group, or university neither am I here to promote any University.
I have seen the lackadaisical attitude shown by our medical personnel in this our country Nigeria.
Doctors and nurses who don't have passion for the course.
Doctors who can't give the correct diagnosis. Doctors who don't know the difference between malaria ailment and other typhoid.
Then I found out that one of the root problems is our admission processes.
Take it or leave it.
We play politics with medicine something that deals with life.
We discard merit for other things.
We prefer mediocrity to merit.
OUR WATCHWORD IS AVERAGE
yeah sure bro, i just can't wait to finish and apply for d.e somewhere else gan sef. I've had enough of them.

I wanted to type microbiology and not MBBS.
Concerning dentistry it is a typo error.
And guy don't u see guys that u are better off academically and still they are in mbbs.
Say the truth.
Who you are sure u had a better aggregate than them
sure i know of a girl in my set that had below 230 aggregate and she's in medicine, there's another guy like that too that is admission letter has microbiology on it but i don't know how he changed it to medicine. Note: he didn't do p.d. So it's just somehow my brother, may God lead us and direct us rightly so we don't make mistakes and think that's what God wants for us or where he wants us to be. Shalom.

my question is did any one crossed to mbbs This year
the answer is NO, but you shouldn't have put dentistry in your post.

Vcojuro:
I said mbbs. And by the way was the girl the best student in her department.
The surest department to cross from is mbbs.
And the guy with the highest cgpa one OLAMIDE abiodun was not allowed to cross. What was the former department of the lady
read the post i quoted, you said "medicine and dentistry" and BTW the girl is in my department- microbiology
Education / Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Gbsks: 2:16pm On Oct 21, 2015
A girl in my department crossed to dentistry(this present part 2).
Vcojuro:
Don't say any thing u don't know I also know of oau.
The current part one student that were admitted are just 86.
There is no crossing from any department in oau to mbbs it is not allowed, there is no space for them.
In this current part two set nobody was allowed to medicine and dentistry.
The current part 3 set only 1 deeper life guy from micro biology was allowed to join mbbs.
The current part 4 set only 1 lady and she was not the person with best cgpa but because she was chanced to know the VC.
The current part 5 nobody crossed to mbbs.
Slot give to oau mbbs is 100.
And they most graduate more than that.
Their DE candidates are not more than 10.
And it includes jupeb and a level.
Who tell you I don't know much about the school.
See this guy
This year 16 were admitted on merit into mbbs
12 from catchment 4 from elds 10 from pd.
That is a total of 42.
The remaining 46 will be through leg.
If u want to argue i will upload the admission list.
Why do you think oau don't paste their admission list on their websites for the whole world to see.
They call themselves the leading ict University and u can't paste simple admission list on your website.
Why do you think admission process takes oau 4 month to conclude.
What are they afraid of.

America would inject an anaesthetic into the body of the terrorist in detention, put a tracker or better still a bomb that can be triggered from anywhere around the globe then free the fool. Boko harm would subsequently release the abducted girls thinking they got a good deal and once the girls have been confined into safe hands, the president would have the privilege of triggering the bomb inside the body of the freed terrorist by just a click of a button from his office killing en mass some bloody assss licking terrorists around the freed bokoharamist

Divy college 1.5mshould be enough and it is a sec school incase u dont want rules and uniforms u shld try others. but know that cambridge exam fees is not stable. They can change it anytime and late registeration attracts extra charge. Lectures for may/june exam next yr has already stated.
hmmm.

Cc Rimini need ur help here.
1)Syllabus structure remains with the teachers. For the exams we have 5 papers. Alevels comprises of AS and A2. paper 1 is AS obj,2 is AS essay, paper 3 is practical, 4 is A2 essay and paper 5 has to do with applying ur understanding in practicals basically A2. You think up practicals urself in line with what is given to you...dnt really know how to explain that. For subject combinations it depends on ur course for medicine it is bio,phy and chem...but some pipl add maths, engineering is maths, phy and chem. Note that the 1st three is very important for medicine if you plan to school in nigeria. No. of subjects is 3-4 aldo most people do 3.
2)I wont say it is difficult. You just have to know ur books and textbooks to ur fingertips. You must understand whatever you are being taught. The exams are so tactical unlike waec. Cie twists questions such that if u dont understand what u read u will give wrong answers...this is my opinion.
3a)It ought to be a 2yr programme. AS for the 1st yr and A2 for the 2nd. But u can do it under 9months if u can handle it. Thats what most centres in nigeria offer.
4)Yes you can. The exams are concluded.in early june and results come out usuallg on the 10th-14th of august. But that is for may/june. Those who write in oct/nov have to wait till the next yr as they get results in january.
5)To an extent. You need teachers who know the syllabus inside out and preferably mark cambridge exams. But majority of the work lies on the student. For the minimum points i will advice you to aim for A*s. This is 90 and above. When u aim for this the least u can fall down to is an A or if too bad B with adequate preparations amd God.
3b)For the cost it depends on where you want to do it. Just try to find out the price from those around you and also hw well their past students have done.

1)For the grading im sure of A*90 and above,A- 80-89 and B-70-79. Dont know the figures for the other grades but there is c,d,e,f and u. U is the lowest. It is equivalent to having written nothing.
5) For the minimum points i will use ui since thats where im applying to for medicine it was 15pts as of last yr which is equivalent to 2As and a B. In nigeria the A*s are not regarded but incase u change ur mind and study outside they are a plus.
To the best of my little knowledge iv explained all im sure of. Any area ur not clear u can ask me or Rimini.

Also u need to lay your hands on past questions. So that u know the exact points they want as answers.
Thanks a lot!. If i may ask where did you do yours? And how much did it cost you in total?

You can ask here. Im sure there will be others that will have better explanations
okay thanks here are my questions. (1) what is the syllabus structure, exam structure, subject combinations, grading and other components of the exam like? (2) is it very difficult as people claim it is? (3) what is the duration of the programme and how expensive is it? (4) and also if i write it in a particular year will i be able to take jamb d.e form that year? (5) do tutorial centres determine the success of the candidate and also what are the minimum points required for entry into any university?. Thanks as i await your reply.

traditionally, it's a week after cut off has been released. BTW did you meet the cut off?

Well, we have quite a few of them. I think about 7 or so. You will have to finish with a good grade at least a minimum of a second class upper. Its quite competitive I must admit, but its feasible
ok thanks bro, sorry for bothering you, can you explain how the time table of the clinical stage is because i have a guy who entered part 4 of recent and i am suprised to hear that they've started exam cos i feel it's too soon

Yes, I am a 600 level medical. I mean the new 600 level, the old ones are currently writing their final exams.
Now about the issue of cut-offs. There are certain cut-offs that are circulating all around the school. This is hardly surprising. Its not strange. Cut-offs circulate almost everytime admission is on the cards. However, the official cut-offs from the senate is not yet out, and its the most reliable and dependable one.
Again, don't be surprised if the official cut-offs and the so called rumored-cut offs bear a lot of resemblance. They might actually be the same with very minor adjustments. Okay??
hey bro, please i would like to ask. How many d.e students do you have in your set? Because i'm considering d.e after my first degree and i would like to know how prospective d.e is. Thanks
