Hello great nairalanders

I have first class Bsc Biochemistry and intends to apply for Medicine and surgery through Direct entry in any federal university available
My question
1. Does University of port harcourt accept Direct Entry to medicine with Bsc Biochemistry?
2. What are my chances?
3. What other federal universities accept Direct entry to medicine?

Thank you very much.
Awaiting response.
If you are ready to come down the west, UI is a good option considering the fact that you have a first class in a life science degree.

Stop feeling Targeted or Victimized.
No Matter Your Tribe, if You cannot cope Academically in OAU, You might Fail and be Kicked out

Anything that happened to you happened Across board and failure in School does determine your success outside School.
So Stop the Ethnic coloring and Stop feeling Victimized based on Tribe.
Don't mind him. People like him won't study hard to pass exams but will later blame tribalism for their failures.

Hi everyone, please I need suggestions of institutions that consider 2nd class lower for direct entry to medicine and surgery.
I’ve tried using google but I’m getting a lot of very conflicting information and I’m not sure what is currently available. Thank you

Check UNIBEN and UNN. (You'll have to write entrance exams though). Dr STORM2 (I don't know if she's still active on the forum) got into UNN with a 2:2.
I learnt Olabisi Onabanjo (OOU) considers 2:2 as well (you have to write entrance exams too)

Have you been to their office?
yes I have. I visited 2 days ago . I was able to speak to one of them to fast track it for me and I was told it will be available in less than 5 days. I spent 10k in total (Cos I had to get an affidavit too), my only hope is that it works. But I don't mind if you give me your link just in case

You're jumping too fast, you don't even know the basics of JS before jumping into Redux. JavaScript is not just syntax, but a lot of other API like DOM, and stuff.

Use a good book.

Not all Front-end jobs are about consuming API, you will be told to create UI Custom Components or debug some frameworks, these are things not taught on freecodecamp and the like.

There's a lot to know, Browser Paint Cycle, Prototype Inheritance, etc

Use a book o, I've worked with various companies and the only saving grace for me has been the Core JS foundation, every framework magic still resolves around JS, even React.

JSX is not supposed to be possible, but something parses it and constructs it into DOM via JavaScript.

JavaScript is massive, other than the syntax, there are a ton of APIs like WebGL, Audio, Video, Canvas, WebWorkers, Storage, Network, and HID the list is long and gets longer.

I work with Svelte for a Gas company in the US, and the code here is insane, we've built a lot of custom UI components draggable widgets, Canvas that renders Shape from an exported C++ Desktop app for Gas Diagrams.

Don't learn Redux, focus on JS first.

I usually don't tell people to read JS first because I know people want quick cash, but if you want to be a seasoned dev, learn JS well. There are 24 Chapters in this book.

Nothing stops you from reading a chapter a day or for 2 days.

I am writing a Shopify Theme and it's pure JavaScript with customElements, that is another API sef I didn't mention, you see how crazy JS is, it keeps expanding.

Please, What edition is this ? Where can I get the PDF ?

What has god you worship got to do with a woman refusing to give you her number?

A woman have the right to say no... A man have the right to say no...why do you guys treat woman like used condom?

Everyone has the right to say "no". I don't have a problem with that. I only have problems with people coming back to say "yes" after they have said "no". In my opinion, She shouldn't have bothered to text the guy again.

Thank you. Let me look into these immediately.
You're welcome. I think the A level route is the best. Find a reputable school that offers the program (like Oxbridge Academy in Lagos). I believe they'll properly guide you concerning the process.

Hello everyone,

Please does anyone know the process of getting into a Medical school in the UK (undergraduate).

A friend of mine wants to send their child to the UK. Please Any information will be appreciated
There are several options.
(1) Through foundation programs (There are limited schools that offer this program to international students. Like 3 or 4 I think)
(2) Through A levels (Register for the next A level Diet now if you want this option. The next is May/June)
(3) University of Buckingham premed program which lasts for 9-10months after which you'll proceed to their 4years 6months mbchb program (I'm not sure if the registration is still on)
(4) Graduate entry program (4years). You'll have to sit for a test called GAMSAT or BMAT and UKCAT )
Mind you, there are exams you may have to write depending on the school. The exams include
(1) IELTS (Some schools may waive this if you have an A in your gcse English)
(2) UKCAT or BMAT (or Both in some cases)
(3) GAMSAT ( For graduate entry route)
Also, you might want to consider international students friendly schools like Buckingham, Brunel, UCLAN (University of central Lancashire) These universities have much more spaces for international students than home students. If you need clarification you could ask more questions

Hi Boss man, I'd rather say you should weigh all your options carefully. Going abroad as you've said is highly unlikely.

Going to Bowen for Intercalated Medicine means you might be repeating 200L as they might not consider you for advanced standing. Furthermore, the fees...it's a whole lot.

Going to LASU technically seems to be your best option. However, how do you intend to get the transcripts? Or the back and forth a between Ile-Ife and Ikeja? Would they consider you for advanced standing? LASU's fees might also increase in the future as there have been a number of caprices about the tuition fees at LASU.

Just know you're not alone as someone has rightly said. It's so sad been in a country where students and education are more or less an afterthought. 80% of Medical Students are affected by this strike, the 20% are those in some state and private Universities. This too, hopefully being the last of it's kind, would pass.

Lastly, I would always pick the prestigious OAU over LASU or BOWEN. (Apologies to those who attend any of the latter).

I wish you the best.
Exactly, he may have to repeat 200 level wherever he ends up. He's halfway through and I think things get better when he's in clinicals (year 5 and 6 especially).

I have something tangible doing already, but it doesn't give me the feeling that I'm making progress.

The stress/time it would take to obtain a transcript is insignificant compared to what a future with ASUU holds.

I would like to know more about medicine in the aforementioned institutions.
oh ok. I really don't know anything about the aforementioned school. Keep asking you'll find answers.

Good day Everyone.

I'm a 300L Medical student in OAU(yet to begin 300L though because of ASUU). Time is no longer on my side age-wise. ASUU strike and the current state of Tertiary education in the country have left me depressed.

Please, I need your inputs on the following options that I've thought about:

||Make a transfer to a private university, preferably Bowen, because medicine in Bowen is intercalated, they award a BSC alongside MBBS.

||Make to a transfer to a state university like Lasu, since they are not affected by ASUU. But my fear is this might change in the future.

||Make a transfer abroad, I don't think this is feasible though...
Or you could chill and see it to the end in oau. Transferring is quite difficult. Getting transcripts in oau is quite difficult and time consuming. If I were you, I'll just keep on with it and find something tangible to invest my time in. This is my opinion though

MPH is rather too saturated.

Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (kind of expensive) and the University of Calabar, Calabar both accept a Second class honors (lower division) into Medicine.

She might want to make further enquiries at those Universities
UNN and Uniben are on that list as well and the good thing is they both conduct d.e exams. So you could be lucky if you get the required cut off

Wike, I take God beg you, stay back in PDP. lipsrsealed

Obi has been careful not to attack people. His interest is how to solve Nigeria's problem. Every speech is a lecture, back to back. Little wonder his popularity keeps growing by leaps and bounds.

Labour Party doesn't need someone who will be verbally attacking people and unwisely picking battles for them. Wike cannot be controlled.
Truth be told, he needs someone as abrasive as wike. In my opinion, the combo makes sense. Issues can only arise between the two if wike entertains corrupt practices.
