Education › Re: From MBBS To Botany, Please I Need Suggestion! by GdexFolami(m): 9:22am On Dec 28, 2017 |
Ronaldinnioh: What you need is just to buy another Jamb form and prepare for another Jamb. Delete the course from your mind and have a high hope that you will pass your Jamb and get your heart desired course. My own shoe I was forced to take the course by elder siblings and my parents chased out of the house to take the course but guess what. You can force a horse to the stream but you can't force it to drink water. I took the admission but had 0% interest in all the course activities. I stabbed lectures and practical. But today am in my Final Year Medicine and Surgery.
In 2010 I was given Botany instead of Medicine and Surgery in UNN. I wrote another jamb and deleted my mind from the course and whatever the outcome might be,even if I fail my Jamb or they withhold my result, I will not be sad, since I have made up my mind never to do that course in my life. I was reading and my course mate were always discouraging me from taking another course(because most of us were in the same shoe as those who got the course through supplementary list and we are wounded doctors then and shows me the importance of the Botany. Am not saying is a bad course or I can't be rich but that is not my heart desired course.
I wrote Jamb and I went for UI interview and I was admitted to Study Medicine and Surgery which was my heart desired course.
Pls never let your course mates/ room mates not know about your intention because they can never encourage you. Some will tell you that your Jamb will be withheld.
Others will say how can you begin 100level all over again.
Some will say you are wasting money
Others will say how old are you that it is not what you studied that gives you work in future
Most importantly know that you alone will suffer the consequences of your actions in choosing your career. Make a wise decision now. Nobody will bear your cross not even YOUR Parents or Siblings. you said it all man |

Jodha: Too bad I saw this thread late ....but it's awk ...
Anatomy nah die...Biochem is not hard but... somehow is the toughest because people fail it most... My advice to any young medicine student is
... "Calm down...bring yhur shoulder down..because yhu got admitted into medicine doesn't make yhu a doctor... Medical school is very funny ...very difficult to get in but very easy to fail out...until yhu pass yhur first MBBS exams in 300level consider yhurself a jambite..cause from 400level that's when everything starts....it's not easy but if yhu read yhull pass there's no two ways about it...yhu just need discipline"....
That's all for now... I love this. |

Jman06: Please my dear, pick up D.E form from JAMB and go back to school. I did same after biochemistry and i am happy i did. In my own case i chose pharmacy instead.
When i did my IT in a pharm industry, i met some guys who did microbiology/biochemistry. I discovered that many of them who were even lucky enough to get jobs in pharm industries live in perpetual anger and beef the pharmacists because in their ignorance they think that they should be paid as much as pharmacists, forgetting that they are only there due to shortage of pharmacists and also because some companies employ them to cut cost and so pay them peanuts.
So, to save yourself from such mediocrity, I advise you go for D.E.
Don't listen to anybody who may start telling you that "They are the same thing". They are not o nice one bro . You said it all |

esivue007: that's just it dude things can change so much four years after.....I'm even thinking on maybe if I can't go for MBBS again cuz of age, which area (best)can I specialize in to during my masters program?cuz I'm may do that immediately after bsc or Nysc or what is d best area I can specialize into during my masters program in biochemistry. I realize dat clinical biochemistry are very inferior in naija labour market so I'm thinking about venturing in to pharm,is it possible or what you own suggestion? DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS... . There's no need for collosal words . If medicine is truly ur passion ,then nothing shud change it. Make sure in ten years time you can proudly say you chose the life you're living ,you didn't settle for it. Continue with your Bsc.biochemistry but keep writing jamb for medicine. #teamMBBS |

Zhinurayn17: Hello here.. Am happy to join this compromising thread.. Actually I am a medical aspirant.. But due to my scores o had to switch to physiology.. I had 262 in jamb and 68% in jamb.. So people told me to switch that if I get admitted with physiology I'll be able to switch to medicine and surgery.. That's in unilorin.. So I want to ask for the requirements to switch to medicine from other medical courses.. And does the change take place after the first semester or after the end of year 1.. Ill appreciate good answers.. in unilorin the best ten from physiology and the best ten from anatomy cross to medicine . It takes place after the first year ....if you're among the best ten in either physiology or anatomy in 100l then you'll move to 200l medicine . Hope I have answered ur question? |

Hmmmmmmmm Let me share my testimony too ,I wanted to keep calm but no it's just ruffling through my tummy . I have been following this thread since 2015 ,then I read the pages of the group from 0 till date ,the active times of Dr Laguda ,drgboy ,lomaxx, mentorandfriend and so on . All thanks to those pple for their unleaving words of motivation ,they somehow helped me till this day . But c'mon I made it at last ,I have been admitted to study medicine and surgery in the university of Ilorin on Sunday!. Cheers to the doctors ,old medical students and we the newbies of the prestigious medical family . May we sought higher and higher in this profession ,the sky is our starting point . And to the upcoming ones ,note these two quotes ...... "Motivation is what makes you start whereas habit and consistency is what keep you going" " No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small" #teamMBBS |

*PLS, READ * *JAMB CAPS PORTAL HAS BEEN ENABLED* *(TEAM PLATO REPORTS)* This year 2017 Admission is centrally based and various tertiary institutions will send their admission list to Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) for Approval before it's released officially. This is meant to say that only candidates who score well and have surpass the University aptitude test/ Post UTME will surely get the nods to be admitted. We'll not write too much as we've promised to keep this short and simple, The JAMB Caps should only be use by candidates who have been offered admission by institution, For Instance, Few days ago, We gathered that the University of Ilorin admission list has been forwarded to Jamb for approval after several hitches, which means a candidate who picked the University is not even expected to visit the CAPS page at all until admission offer. The following are to be noted as an Aspirant, *Once you've not been offered an admission, your portal will read, admitted and you're to accept the offer of admission, You're not expected to accept until you've been offered admission, If your portal reads "recommended", it means a candidate is opened to other institutions, You're not expected to accept If your portal reads "not admitted"*, Anyone who does that do it at his/her risk/detriment. The link to the caps is available below, http://caps.jamb.gov.ng/app_candidates/candidateprofile.aspx . *Please, Make sure you've completely read the information before checking the link at all*. NOTE - Please, bear in mind that only candidates who meet the O'level and A'level requirements and other criteria set by institutions would be offered admission for 2017/2018 session. WhatsApp/Call for Questions and clarifications, *08060948531*, Instructions are paramount to this year's admission, Virtually all fore runner Federal Universities have been mandated to release the their merit list unfailingly next week. We wish you all the best. *TEAM PLATO REPORTS* |
