Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Lucrative Is Decagon Software Engineering Training Program? by GeeConn(m): 9:16am On May 09, 2023
Kaycee4194:
Well, I went through the program and for me the pros far outweighs the cons. I've seen people say go to udemy and get videos and learn. I can promise you that only few people get to actually understand or get what they are watching in those videos. I didn't know Jack when I applied to Decagon but believe you me, after the program I am doing well for myself. Not everybody has the same experience but if you keep your head in the game and work hard, the 3 mil loan will be a something you will look back at and laugh. Apart from skill what people underate in software engineering is the community you build. It is way more than money and trust me you will get a whole lot of connections which will help you in future both in linking you up with jobs and helping you out when you have bugs even in your place of work.

If you are thinking of starting a career in tech. Decagon is a yes from me.
Please can I pm you?

Don’t let anyone scare you, it’s a great thing if you can put in the work. One thing you should know is that decagon do not admit average students. The entrance assessments are tough and you must scale through even if you want to pay cash. But if you scale through, you still have to work even harder to stay ahead of your game. For me, it was a life changing experience entirely. Software engineering is not something that’s very easy to learn under six months especially for novice. But Decagon will do everything to set you on the part of success. There is also a large alumni association which still shoulder the responsibility of growth even as a software engineer.

However, if you don’t have any experience with programming and you are not sure you can sacrifice everything to a serious learning path, don’t apply.

Decagon was a good experience for me. It could help you too.
Please which stack do they teach?

INTRODUCTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND OTHER MAJOR CHANGES IN NIGERIAN POLITICS

*He was the first gubernatorial candidate in Nigeria to legally challenge to its logical conclusion, his governorship electoral victory that was denied him. He won in the Courts and reclaimed his mandate.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to legally challenge his wrongful impeachment and was reinstated by the Courts.

*He was the first Governor in Nigeria to seek the interpretation of tenures of Governors when INEC allowed elections to take place in Anambra State when his tenure had not expired; the election already concluded was cancelled and he was allowed to complete his tenure.

*He was the first Governor to serve a 2nd term in both the new and old Anambra State, that is, almost 40 years after creation of the State.

*He was the first Governor, whilst still in Office, to be appointed a Special Adviser to the President.

*He was the first serving Governor to be appointed into the Presidential Economic Management Team.

*He was among the first Governors to be honoured with a National Award in 2011, while still in office.

*Though the only Governor whose political party was in government in only one State, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum twice.

*Though the only non-PDP Governor in the South-East (made up of 5 States), he was elected by the other 4 PDP Governors as their Chairman for 8 years rather than the usual one year.

FUNDAMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE (PARTIAL LISTING)

1. Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.

2. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United States, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.

3. Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.

4. He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.

5. The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.

6. The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.

7. The State’s ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners – Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.

8. The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.
His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

11. His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. With complementary funding from our Government, they used the money to build 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres across the State, particularly in rural communities, in partnership with the Churches.

12. The State was the first to procure and distribute more than 30,000 computers to secondary schools, including 22,500 from HP. The Managing Director for Personal Systems Group HP Inc, Mr. FabriceCampoy described the deployment as the biggest of such projects in the Middle-East and Africa.

13. Anambra State Government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools, which the Head of Microsoft in Nigeria (Mr. Ken Span) described as the biggest such deployment in Africa so far.

14. The State provided Internet access to more than 500 secondary schools, which the CEO of Galaxy Backbone (Mr. Gerald Ilukwe) characterized as incomparable to any in the country.

15. More than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the State by our Government.

16. Boreholes were provided in schools all over the State.

17. Numerous classrooms were built in all the 177 communities of the State.

18 As part of the efforts to turn around the economy of the State, a number of companies were attracted to build their facilities in the Anambra State. A case in point is SABMiller, the 2nd largest brewery in the world, which built their first Green Field facility in the State, which is today one of the most successful facilities they operate globally.

19. A number of other companies followed the SABMiller initiative and were all supported and encouraged under our Government; a good example is INNOSON Motor Manufacturing Company, from which our government bought more than 1,000 vehicles.

20. Anambra State for the first time started close collaboration with recognized government security agencies (the Police, Army, Navy, Department of State Security, Civil Defence, among others), offering them various types of support including provision of more than 500 security vehicles. The improvement in security was phenomenal, such that the former IG of Police (Abubakar Mohammed) lauded Anambra State for not witnessing any bank robbery in my last three years in office.

21. To further enhance security, Anambra State provided at least one security vehicle to each of all the 177 communities in the State as well as various organizations such as markets and Churches.

22. His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka.

23. His Government commenced the planned development of the Igbariam Campus of the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu-Ojukwu University, including the fencing, construction of internal roads, electrification, construction of the Faculty of Law, Auditorium, Administrative Block, Faculty of Agriculture, Management Building, among others).

24. His Government attracted the World Bank support on erosion – National Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) – to Anambra State.

25. His Government was the first to do Poverty Mapping in Nigeria, as a guide for the effective implementation of our poverty-alleviation strategies.

26 His Government, for the first time, undertook the aerial mapping of Awka as well as the production of Structure Plans for Awka Capital Territory, Onitsha and Nnewi.

27. During his tenure and with his Government’s support, Anambra State became an oil producing State.

28. He built the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were hitherto scattered around the State.

29. His government commenced the development of the ‘Three Arms Zone’ comprising Government House/Governor’s Lodge, Legislative Building/Speakers Residence, and Judiciary Building with Chief Judge’s Residence.

30. By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than twelve (12) health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation; when we took off in 2006, no health institution in Anambra State was duly accredited.

31. Anambra State was the first to undergo national peer review, which scrutinised State Governments for good governance, through the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM), an initiative of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the DFID.

Our leaders can never be exempted from these at all... Do you know how many job opportunities that would have been created with their stolen funds?

Most of those yahoo boys have tried meaningful ways of making money without success.

Attitudes like this only show how horrible the future would be for Nigeria as the up coming generations of leaders would be worst going by submissions such as yours..

The present is already more than horrible, courtesy of our leaders. Do you know how many youth that has lost farms and means of livelihood to herdsmen and its attendants problems, yet our leaders just don't care.

Please I am not siding the bad boys, I am just trying to let others see from their own perspective too.

Our leaders are to blame.

Op are you into yahoo? Your write up fully supported fraudsters. Let me remind you, effc is doing the right and its legal. The world is a global village and we signed so many bilateral with other nations on money laundries and other crimes.

Talking from experience if you travel out of the country, your passport is a suspect, you will be searched naked like common criminals because of the atrocities of yahoo boys. There are many that loose their money to yahoo boys that died of heart Attack, and so on.

I am not in support of yahoo boys. But it's the fault of our leaders, who are stealing us blind.

The effort of these guys are quite commendable too. One should appreciate the amount of effort that went down by this guys in inventing such many tricks. Advance countries like US & EU understands this as raw potentials that need to be harnessed and so when they are caught, they are interviewed and given light sentence.

If you are considerate of your fellow human beings pains and stress, you should feel bad when a fellow man comes around to ask you for money to eat. When that persons finds a way to save his dignity through these means, you should just be happy for him and mind your business.

Be grateful for once that you have a descent means of survival. Mind your business.

Normally, if EFCC wants to work accordingly, they should not be on the street going from house to house, looking for 'Yahoo boys'. They should wait for a petition from the victim, after the petition they should try and find the scammer, arrest him

What Nigerians don't know is that the disbanded SARS personnels were absolved into EFCC, Their number was much, that is why you can hear EFCC is operating in Ikorodu, Ikeja, Lekki all at the same time.

They are the same criminals. I knew The disbanded SARS men, having tasted illegal money can't keep quite for long.

Politicians are looting funds belonging to the masses, yet they don't go to their houses to arrest them without being charged.

The Nigerian government is so bad, wicked and heartless.

Please, I am not making case for scammers, but crimes are in degrees. There are sane crimes and mindless ones too.

I will prefer to be scammed than to be shot and killed for my money.

Not correct. You will spend less than 400k. Max 200k.

Anyway, I think I might be wrong here, because this was of 2017 market price estimate.

That item is grossly overpriced.

You can get it for 100-150k from other sources even here on Nairaland.

Why pay over 380k for an item you can get elsewhere for 150k?

This is 2020. Nigeria is in a recession and every kobo counts.

My suggestion. Return the product, cut your loss and move on.

Woow, this sounds good, please what is the power output for this?

I have seen the battery and panel output but I can't find the power output there.

I'm being scammed by mtn. I need a help from an expert in renewable energy.

This was a solar system sold to me by mtn last week with it's panel. Now, they want me to be paying them 7.3k every month for the next 4 years, otherwise it will stop functioning. I'm very confused right now. They didn't say this at first until I've paid them the initial 25k and installation made totaling around 30k. This means I'll be spending around 400k just to owe this thing according to them.

Please, someone familiar with this system should advice me on what to do, because I'm getting depressed about it. Funny enough, the system doesn't carry load except specified bulb, phone and laptop charger, and a very light TV.

Should I hack or resell it? I don't know if it's possible. Please someone should help me out.

Admin#Please, help me take it to the front page.
It seems there are things you didn't pay attention to before signing and obtaining the product. It's all there in the agreement letter which should be inside that carton.

You are using the latest package LUMOS PRIME - power output is 120 watts

I have been using the previous package LUMOS ECO - 60 watts for more than 2 years now and it has been superb. If you have tried other energy solutions before this, you would appreciate lumos better.

Honestly, the payment is not so sweet at all but if you pay yearly it is far cheaper for you, I use it too. I'll dig up the payment plan and post.

Also, I found out that if you want to construct a similar power package of same capability , it will cost you the same 400k not including all the troubles with it.

But if you want to hack it, which is not legal, I know someone who can help sha.

This is the one I am reading so far that I am thinking "What kind of idiots are these people?".People leave their phones charging outside and went to sleep (IN NIGERIA) and they are crying it was stolen.

It's normal in our lodge, which is very secured with a security man attached. The compound fence is more than 10 feet high. Nothing as much as a pin gets missing in our lodge too. We all behave like one big family. You can walk into anybody's room any time, provided it's open.

Even the thief had to climb a table to jump into the compound.

The writer himself approached a person on his own in the dark, even though the person is one he has seen with a dagger under his armpit and acting stealthily.
I mean this was an unusual happening. It has never occurred before. I have never anticipated such nor what my reaction would have been to such happening.

Whatever university these people were students of I would advice no one ever send their children there except the child has down syndrome.

Loolz, well this Nigeria for you.

Mine was in 2014. In our student's lodge in school. I put on my generator around 8pm, planning to work till day break. My room was so much filled with phones of my lodge mates that I had to provide another extension sockets outside my room for others to also charge without coming into my room to disturb me. I was busy working with two laptops on my table.

At 2am a sudden heavy sleep came on me, but I shrugged it off and brought out my kola and started chewing it. Seconds later, someone passed my door, flashed a torchlight at me and proceeded to charge his phone(so I thought) on the outdoor extension. I became a little unsettled after he passed my door and I couldn't see his head above my window. Again he was unusually silent, He didn't call out any greeting as was usual of our noisy members. so I decided to check him out. I saw huge guy with dagger in his armpit picking up people's phones (I thought he was charging phones). He resembled one of our members. He wasn't aware of my presence, so I said, O boy why are you with dagger this night, is there trouble anywhere? He jumped away with so much shocked and faced me, then I looked at his face and discovered that this stranger was a thief from Hell knows where. We faced each other, like 2 yards apart and speechless for some seconds. He was smelling of alcohol and cigarette and bare chested too with only a jeans short. As I was thinking how best to quickly fight this thief without getting wounded, before our members will wake up to join me, then he started shouting at me.

He said, Are you crazy? Aren't you afraid looking at me? Do you want to fight me? As he was saying so, he brought out the dagger from his armpit. I became afraid and stepped back into my room and locked the door. I looked from the window and saw him packing the remaining phones. So I shouted Thief Thief, but everyone were fast asleep. Then I became more afraid, that he will come after me when he is done with outside and my door is a light wooden one too which he can easily kick open. I was so angry and afraid at the same time. I took my chair, broke the ceiling and jumped into it. The loud sound from the ceiling woke up our lodge security man up and so many people too. Within seconds, the whole lodge members of about 20 people gathered at my room, but the guy was gone, soon we heard the sound of a motorbike, start up. before we could rush outside the gate they had zoomed off. We have always heard of how hostels were robbed while everyone were asleep but we haven't seen such a thing in our's before. As we were one of the most secured hostels, and we had a security man too. people whose phones were picked were crying.

We later learnt, that these robbers use charm prepared in the Cemetery or burial ground. They take a broom stick or two and dip it into the tomb of a dead person. They will leave it there for a whole day or two before they take it away. When they dip that same broom stick in front of any gate they want to rob its occupants, everyone in that house will fall asleep instantly, just like the dead in the cemetery till they are through and remove it.

Can someone pls enlighten me on this Hushpuppi situation? I don’t understand how someone who is smart enough to scam over 1 million people, hack government systems, 15 billion worth of assets, would be stupid to flash it on Instagram.
