It's not normal. Mike probably thought you were referring to your bank account. Your sales proceeds should be in your trading account immediately after you made the sale if you already opted out of DCS. Mfunkynation: I have never experienced this with Morgan capital? That's why I am asking if it's the normal norm now. If person sells today, he won't have access to the money to buy another in the same day. Damn! |

Like I said, it is a very strange concept to common sense and perception of justice to talk of 'repentant terrorist'. However, the insinuation that they are being recruited into the military has been refuted by the authorities. Agbalowomeri: The point is obviously not recruiting into the military. Don't we see repentant terrorist televised been released after "amnesty"? That is exactly why we are still where we are. Today, Fulani herders will be apprehended and handed over to the police, only to be released the following day. Where is the justice? |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 5:20pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
The military has consistently said no repentant terrorist (I don't even believe in the concept of repentant terrorist) has been recruited into the military. If we don't criticize based on truth and facts, how are we different from the people manipulating the system? Agbalowomeri: I think you have a strong point. How many terrorists were arrested and then released, even sponsored in trainings and employed in the military under Buhari? The sentencing will bring nothing else but tension in the country. Tinubu better go and retrace those past decisions. Selective justice is the beginning of chaos in any nation |

Write an email to CSCS, copy yoour broker and SEC. Copying SEC is very important at this point. You will get a resolution. Attach the sale contract note and make sure you complain bitterly (put some element of rudeness, na Naija we dey) about the lack of actions from the cscs and your brokers since you brought the issue to their notice. Emumakpo: I received sales contract notes from my broker, but no sms from cscs
I have checked my porfolio with cscs and the shares are no longer there
I have done both since last week |

Have they actually started fish trawling? There was this coorporate action earlier this year for the acquisition of a number of trawlers to be delivered in May 2025. We never heard any update on it. It’s an awesome news to hear. For me, it’s the most important aspect of the CGT. The market will likely start reacting before the end of this week. awesomeJ: The 5% crash seems to break circuit at Taiwo's team, it's good he put out that tweet.

Suspending the CGT will cause an unprecedented uproar that can potentially rubbish the whole NTA 2025. Only a small priviledged fraction of Nigerians are in the Capital Market. The right thing to do is to rescind the retrospective application of the CGT and possibly just retain the existing 10% CGT but with rigorous implementation. Raider76: What are the odds that Tinubu will suspend this CGT? I want gamble on that. |

Bro, it's the CGT. Trump's CPC is not responsible for the red paint on the floor of the ngx. It is the CGT. Agbalowomeri: What volume do you think is exiting NGX? Go check, it is not heavy
The red started just after Trump pronouncement. We have had the CGT memo the entire year so while now and not December? |

The only direction for the market for the remainder of this year is southward unless something changes. Who would put money in a RI/PO when you can get it cheaper on the floor? mikeapollo: It depends on how/where the funds is raised, and if they can meet their target e.g. via private placement if there's a strategic investor, or rights/public offer if the price is attractive for investors to buy. If they raise the funds now, it may help improve 2025 balance sheet and help them start 2026 on a better footing, otherwise they would wait until Q2 2026, and the share price may decline further. |
