What are we forgiving them for? They have taken the North East Back at least 30 years. Countless Dead, Widows, orphans and IDPs. Wasted trillions of Naira that would have been used positively.

It is no longer surprising the rate at which articulated vehicles fail brake and lose control at the cost of human lives.

These are needless deaths that can be prevented with the right policy/regulations. Most of these trucks on our roads have outlived their lifespan, with many of them manufactured during World War 2.

The FRSC alongside other relevant agencies need to come up with a framework to phase out these "death traps on wheels" by ensuring only trucks with a maximum of 10yrs can ply our roads. The drivers also need proper training, background checks, and tracking to ensure more accountability and safer driving .

Until this is done, tragic accidents like this will continue ad infinitum.

The Nigerian way has prevented this from happening. You now wonder what is the Objective of VIO office

For FG , unless it is an agency (forget ministry) that has shown competency for excellence and is performance oriented. Even a friend of mine after he was scammed by a Car dealer went to get help from his friend who is a DSS operative to go and arrest the car dealer and intimidate him. Is that the work of DSS! They are used by VIPs to intimidate their foes and opponents, they have seriously deviated from their mandate over the years.

In their bid to cajole the Nigerian State to bow to their demand.
This made the Nigerian government to converge urgent security meeting that led to the upward review of the Security threat posed by the Secessionists to the integrity of the country.
The subsequent change in security code level by the government led to the neutralization of the uprising.
This robust tackling of the activities of the the ESN exposed the government's game of ostrich in addressing the overall insecurities in the various parts of the country.
The truth is that Nigeria have the capacity to tackle the various internal security threats but are just not willing to tackle the reformed Boko Haram, banditry.
Maybe, the government in power is taking it likely with them probably because they are the president's kinsmen.
Or maybe, the top officers in military hierarchy and the top politicians are jeopardizing the war against the insurgency, taking undue advantage of the insecurities to cash out, as their salaries alone won't be enough for them to acquire properties in Dubai like the politicians are doing.
The military officers want to live large like the senators.
To those outside the East, they thought maybe IPOB/ESN was an over hyped militia group.

If an Immigration officer tells you how much he makes daily from extortions on International Passport applicants, you'd hate your job.
