6. Saves you lots of money in the long term.
7. High life span. 25years for the panels, 5years for the batteries. (That is why u must always go for quality and not compromise looking for cheap setups)

DISADVANTAGES OF SOLAR POWER
1. Very expensive setup
2. Requires high level of expertise for setup and repairs.
3. Requires space. Unshaded surface area is key.

3. Reliable. The generator is very reliable so far it is kept in good shape.

5. low expertise level required for setup, maintenance and repairs
DISADVANTAGES OF PETROL/DIESEL GENERATORS

@darealgeesam, sir, I don't mean to sound patronizing but I'm totally flabbergasted at ur wealth of experience. Keep up d good work. But I stil a notch unresolved.
U stated d 80w panels will b connect in 4 strings of 2 panels connect in series. I.e. voltage = 2x17.5=35v. I tot d system was a 48v, 4 batts inverter set up. Or am I mistaken?

This is the problem i have with online consultancy. People dont appreciate information. I already told you sir that 100ah battery will not last more than 2-3 hours with all the stated load. By the way mr chris i appreciate your contribution on this thread, but 100ah battery for 40,000?! What?! It shld not cost more than 25,000 at most. Mr. Samuel, i have answered the question u are asking now. You want it to last 5-6hours then buy 2 100ah batteries. You want it to last 18hrs then u need about 6 X 100ah batteries or better still 3 200ah batteries. Note this is based on the assumption that your tv is about 170w, fan is 60w and your bulb is 26w and that they will all be on for 18hrs.

You want a system that will give u good satisfaction? 18hrs at least everyday then budget about 300,000 just for equipments (no installation cost). This will give you 3X 200ah deep circle batteries, 6X 120W solar panels charge controller of 30a and a 1,000 watt inverter.

The amnesty rogramme should stop.If it is done transparently I will advocate every kobo of it should be put into the Delta.Yes there should be money for the DELTA but NOT for militants.I do not think the militants should be disrespected while it is happening but it has t stop.At any rate militant who was 35 in 2005 is now 45 the 10 year old is now 20 and would soon want to get paid. The program was designed to end may 2015. The idea was to train and integrate the militants back into the society. This would have been achieved but for the lack of foresight and greed of gej.
Now let me break it down.
1. Majority of the real agitators were left out of the program.
2. Not a single ex agitator was giving an elite trsining. Eg, piloting or scholaship to school abroad. The best they got was welding or the likes frm some third world states.
3. The initial idea was to attract investors like Hyundai heavy (ship builders), commence work on other trains of NLNG at Bonny, construct roads and other infrastructures amongst other things in the region. many of the boys would have been gainfully employed if gej had seen the plan thru. But the reality on ground after 5yrs is clear to all. Amnesty under jonathan is a drain pipe. The creeks are still very volatile because the govt was not sincere frm the onset. Simply put, amnesty is a SCAM?
4. The program was designed to have direct impact on the foot soldiers as the generals. But the focus as we have noticed is on a few ex warlords. No delibrate approach to achieving the original aim. The result is clear. Oil theft and vandalism is still high.
5. I have a friend who works in the amnesty office, she is a multi millionair. Like her, many of the ex warlords have properties scattered all over. Its just sharing and sharing and sharing.
6. Gej in his wisdom gave the militants contracts to protect the same pipelines they bursted to steal oil. Today it is a free for all siphoning. No more restrictions. The rate of spills in nigeria today is about the highest in recent times.

I could go on and on. Ateke recieves billions yearly frm the govt so am not suprised.
Amnesty was largely turned into an 'ijaw only' business. Even ateke is begging for development in the region. That means gej deviated frm the original plan. He did nothing to advnce the program beyong hand outs.

Gej's exit is like a blessing in disguise. What the niger delta need at this point is a leader who will stand his grounds to make sure most of the programs and policies on the region. Not one who will prefer to put perfum over shiit and allow the stench hibernate for a while.

1. Aw did u arrive at 0.64kva? Was it based on chrgn current reqt or power reqt?
2. D solar circuit is DC so I fink 0.64kva shld b 0.64kw
3. Are d 80w panels arranged in series? If so... 17.5x8 = 140v
4. Thus, Wot is d rating of d mppt chrg controller if u proffer d same chrg controller for both 0.64kva & 1.42kva solar system?
5. Do d cost u enumerated above cover delivery & installation?
