Politics / Re: Does the Nigerian Police Make Things Worse For Nigerians? by Geez(m): 5:50pm On Dec 21, 2005
otokx:

i wont say so. the nigerian police force and indeed our military are highly skilled and very professional though poorly paid. If you are referring to the few bad eggs which do not amount to 5% then you are being unfair.

Otokx, you must be in foreign land and not Nigeria or you have someone in the Police Force or you were part of the Police Force.

Jakumo:

Geez, upon the street-level actualization of your demand that there be neither a military nor police force in Nigeria , would you further recommend the Somalia Government of Liberalized Anarchy model as opposed to the more conservative Liberia Government of Shifting Frontlines model for the new, every-man-for-himself Nigerian sate you boldly envision ?
The situation in Somalia is the absence of Law & Order while in Nigeria is the corruption of power by the police and armed forces. In some sense, there is no law & order in Nigeria because of the abuse of power. Who are you to complain or press charges against men in the uniform? In Somalia there is no absolute power like it is in Nigeria with the police and armed forces in charge. Anarchy in Nigeria is in glorified form, where power corrupts absolutely.

nicetohave, what is ludicrous about a theory of evolution that is not water-tight.

nferyn, I'm not a scientist by profession or career but I can tell you that evolutionists are beginning to see evidence that contracdicts their theory, hence biologist like Micheal Behe and others are finally coming out of the closet of having to accept falsehoods in science. I am not against science but against claims that are wrong. According to Dr. Michael Behe of University of Lehigh, the complexity of protein structure alone does not support the theory of evolution. I will read your reference but I will not be surprised to read the same old arguments that are now being disproved.

I am a trained engineer and I have worked closely with scientists in the medical field for many years. Many have reservations on the theory of evolution.

IAH, your characterisation is firm and not true with me. What is wrong in telling someone how you feel? Hard-to-get is taking a step to the days when marriages are arranged.  tongue embarassed

IAH, I'm not a lion and I do not belong to that charaterisation. I just don't get into battles and also I'm frank with my statement. tongue undecided

If she is re-living her past, she can tell me verbally instead of saying NO initially. There's nothing wrong in saying "I'm just out of a relationship and I want to be alone" and I will value that and thread differently, but not the typical bushe's attitude of NO, point blank!  smiley
Romance / Re: Men: Simple Approachable Lady or a Hard-to-Get? by Geez(m): 10:47pm On Dec 16, 2005
nicetohave, I value my peace. I do not get into battles for anything whatsoever, especially in relationships. Many men end up running away naked from their so-called high-valued gal. Not me at all. smiley
Romance / Re: Men: Simple Approachable Lady or a Hard-to-Get? by Geez(m): 10:44pm On Dec 16, 2005
2_die_4, its easier said than that. Some battles can be deceptives especially with the so-called hard-to-get play kinda of thing. Often times, men think they are smart and knowledegable, but from what I have seen, the best advice is "do not sweat to get into a mutual relationship" otherwise when the real deal comes you will be pronounced dead on arrival if the gal is gold and grave digger.
Romance / Re: Men: Simple Approachable Lady or a Hard-to-Get? by Geez(m): 10:38pm On Dec 16, 2005
nicetohave, you're perfectly right. No fight in any form on my part. If the relationship is not going to be mutually beneficial, then let her go, afterall, just as there are many men out there, there are also many gals out there. Forget it, I will never sweat for a gal, because if you do, then when it comes to maintenance, you will be dead and buried with her burden. Pray you do not fight for gold, diamond and grave digger.
Health / Re: Tips To Getting Slimmer (The Natural Way) by Geez(m): 10:33pm On Dec 16, 2005
Simple, simple solution: stop eating eba, pounded yam, rice, amala, bush meat at the quantity not greater than what a 2 years old kid would eat and the result of weight loss will be fantastic.
Politics / Re: Does the Nigerian Police Make Things Worse For Nigerians? by Geez(m): 10:27pm On Dec 16, 2005
Nigerian Police Force is a govt sanctioned and formed organization with a mission and vision to:

(1) Steal from the people you are supposed to protect;
(2) Beat up innocents and protect the crooks;
(3) Intimidate while stealing and breaking the laws of the land;
(4) Shut at any provocation, even over =N=10 [ten naira] bribe; and
(5) Look and smell dirty.

Nigeria will be better off without the police and the military.

nferyn,, evidence that all humans have the same ancestor is not new, however, to say that we evolve from organism that originated by chance without scientific proof other than some similarities is a fraud in science. A simple example is cell, plant and animal cells are closely similar but not perfectly similar. If you maintain that you [not me] evolve from apes, or organism, who come scientists are divided on this claim.  Checkout the work of Micheal Behe, a well known biochemist http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/index.php?command=view&id=31&isFellow=true. Why are scientists refuting Darwin Theory if it is valid. By the way, a theory is a theory, unlike scientific laws.

I encourage you to see the other side. I understand that refuting the claim that we are created will mean a lot to many because their life's work hinge on this falsehood.

Larger 20 is thinking of writing a book on heaven and he has his own view of heaven, partly anchored on the bible but not completely. Check the discussion thread for details.

babycute, you're perfectly right. I just cannot think about. lipsrsealed
Family / Re: Your Child Says, "Daddy, Mommy, I'm Gay!" by Geez(m): 9:26pm On Dec 16, 2005
If my child walks to you and says I'm gay, s/he should walkout and say s/he is not. This is the trash that the west market and it has no bearing on the great Africa land, except few twisted Africans who buy in to the craps being marketed in the west.

I encourage parent to sit their children down as often and as frequently as possible and teach them culture that has value - the African culture. The west just do not know their origin and they have no culture - like rabbits and dogs. It is shame on humanity. You do not have to be a christian or muslim to know this.

This is not about intolerance or hatred, it is about common sense.

nferyn, you have dug in to your position and I am not surprised. The complexity of DNA alone is enough proof that humans did not evolve by chance as stated by some scientists. A noted authority in microbiology from the University of Lehigh, USA recently put forward a convincing case for an intelligent design as evolution couldn't have been responsible for the complexity of human system. Whether you like it or not, there is no fool proof link that humans evolved, hence science is partly based on false faith. From the Smithsonian Institute to any archeological findings, the link is still missing. If you cannot show me the fool proof link, then why maintain a position that lacks solid evidence [your quote]. Contradiction or what? smiley smiley smiley
