Everything that was destroyed during those protests is not even 0.1 % of the money stolen from Nigeria every day. If you pushed the govt to cut corruption by even half you wouldn't imagine the kind of things that could be built with the saved money.

They could have gone to Abuja and left Lagos alone since the second lap of their protest was that the president must go. The president is not based in Lagos yet Lagos lost more from a protest insisting the president must go. Protest must be strategic even if disorganised.

If you burn your senate buildings and stuff like that, I have no problem with you but don’t destroy people’s businesses and public infrastructure.

Something has to give. If one day you make an inch of progress by presenting peaceful petitions to Aso Rock I will pay you special homage. That cannot work in Africa. The politicians will be more than happy to have such protests every day and change nothing. The so-called leaders will be compromised by govt and paid to calm you down. You might as well be one of them from the way you go about things here. In Kenya we tried raising voices for two years protesting bad governance and budgeted corruption but a protest that took less than a month addressed all those concerns. The govt is now in the middle of painstakingly addressing the concerns that one month ago they would never even have imagined bothering. Ofcourse it’s not easy and they are trying every delay tactic and gimmicks but the prospect of being overwhelmed by nationwide protests is scaring them. You stick to that nonsense of talks with leaders who dont give one s.hit about you and see where it gets you.

Look man I get you but EndSars 2020 ended up destroying many facilities in Lagos and what is more painful is that even after the Government disbanded SARS, they decided to continue and said Buhari must go.

My biggest problem is that lots of BRT buses were burnt down. The most advanced DNA facility in West Africa at the time was burnt down and many other things in Lagos.

All of this happened because there were no leaders. When you move from End SARS (which was done before shit got worse) to Buhari must go all of a sudden ( which was going to be more difficult) you show that you are not organised with your demands.

This is the only problem I have with protests. They can easily get out of hand destroying even the little progress you have made.
In Nigeria for instance , I would prefer to see a protest in front of the senate and beside ASO Rock area in Abuja with leaders of the protests presenting their demands but not in Lagos.

Ah you miss. My first super falcons game ever was the olympics in 2004 where Nigeria beat Japan 1-0. Then we had both Mercy Akide, Perpetua Nkwocha, Stella Mbachu and Vera Okolo. Since then I’ve been glued.

Then we went on to beat Cameroon 5-0 in Afcon final in December that year to lift our 4th title and we did this without our best striker then Mercy Akide.

The main problem of Nigeria is that very different people, likely to always fight and impede each other, have been forces to exist under "one Nigeria".

If regional governance arrives today, some regions of Nigeria will quickly go on to becomevwey successful mini-nations within a nation that can compare to the likes of Turkey in even 15 to 20 years time.

If Nigerians agitate for the right things, i.e regional autonomy for a nation where people are not united by homogeneity of ideas that influences societal existence, economic development and religious/ethnic/cultural tolerance, you will see the true talent and nation-building potentials of progressive Nigerians at work.

Regional Governance may be good for the South East, South West, and North West but do you know how diverse the other regions are?

Of course it does have a great bearing on foreign reserves if you borrow locally to pay off your foreign debts.

If you borrow locally to pay your foreign debts, where would you get the dollars from since the Government doesn’t print dollars? You would then have to go to your foreign reserves to convert to dollars except you are talking about treasury bills in which FPI’s also participate in but FPI is hot money and they bring in and take out as they please.
FPI inflows have not been as high as it was in March/April.

Ruto even went to the UN thing and attacked Russia on behalf of the US about the Ukraine issue. This man is just foolish. The same Russia had given Kenya millions of tonnes of free fertilizer just the other day, some of which Ruto stole and sold farmers fake fertilizer in the form of soil dug from the ground. I think this is the only aspect Randy got it Wrong, we needed a good crosser among the flank players upfront, Kanu and Ajibade doesn’t give that.

If Rinsola was there it would have been better because he picked Macleans and Ihezuo who are also very good in the Air and can also feed from good crosses like Oshoala.


Kanu again has a nagging Knee injury which Racing Louisville has been managing well. She won’t play 90minutes for sure, Maybe Randy has plan for Esther and Ihezuo to play from the flank.. Esther can also cross very well from the Left flank too but her style of play is very deceptive.

I also think it should have been Rinsola for Kanu because Ihezuo already offers much of what Kanu can offer.

ECOWAS ON THE MOVE

Customs Directors General from Nigeria, Ghana and three neighbouring African countries have agreed to connect to the ECOWAS electronic Interconnected Transit Goods Management System (SIGMAT), regarding goods transiting the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor( before September 2024). 
The agreement is aimed at easing trade on the corridor through the electronic sharing of information on goods in transit, as against manual documentation along borders, among others. 

What the above policy seeks to address are issues relating to “Cargo diversion”.
We have seen Nigeria bound cargoes use other ports within the ECOWAS community. This has contributed to smuggling and loss of revenue.

By connecting to the ECOWAS electronic Interconnected Transit Goods Management System (SIGMAT), importers from Nigeria can use any port however the expected tariff will be paid and accrued to the Nigerian authorities.

NIMASA is also working to ensure the creation of ship-to-ship zones to avoid cargo diversion to neighbouring countries.
