Merci!!! Absolute YES .
|
Hi Guys, Please I have a question. Is it okay for an applicant who has not received medical request after submitting His application and given biometrics to go ahead and do His medicals and send to CIC via webform? Thanks for your responses! |
"Them say who no go, no know". I lived in Benin City (Ikpoba-Hill) for most of my life. Whatever I am today, I give credit to the things I learned from that great city. I must not forget to Mention that a lot of great people have come out of Benin City. A lot of popular figures in Nigeria today especially in sports, entertainment and media houses spent a great/some part of their lives in the Old Bendel which Benin was a part of (Find out for yourself, I am not ready to argue). Late Stephen Keshi, Majek Fashek, Sir Victor Uwaifo, I go dye, Late Felix Okugbe of AIT, Sulai Aledeh of Channels TV, Ali baba, basket mouth, Bovi etc all have histories in this city that some people have decided to say whatever they like about. I was even in the same secondary school with Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile for some time. In as much as people prefer to paint the town black a lot of great talent have come from there. I agree there's a lot of cultism in Benin, but the truth remains that we have all kinds of gang and thugs in every society, even abroad. I attended two higher institutions known for cult activities in Edo state and I successfully completed my education without having any issues with cultists, it's a matter of choice. Even in the environment where I grew up in Benin, there was a lot of cult activities but they never crossed my path. If you travel around the country you will know that Cultism is not just peculiar to Benin alone. At least I have lived in the North-west and south western part of Nigeria so I can tell from my little experience there. I think the main issue is that these activities were very popular way back in Benin and so a lot of people still have their mindset fixed in that era. One of the most popular crimes there today is even what is called 419/yahoo and not even all the other things being talked about. Again, we cannot attribute this to Benin city alone it is what many youths in Nigeria have turned to now using unemployment and economic issues in the country as an excuse. However, things have really changed in recent times in Benin City. In terms of prostitution, I don't think Benin has more prostitutes than other cities I have lived in Nigeria talk less of strip clubs. When I was working in Lagos, I had a neighbour who was transferred to Benin and anytime we spoke on the phone he was excited to be in Benin. He used to always say nice things about Benin and told me he prefers the life there than to Lagos in almost every aspect. And truth be told, Benin is home to people from all over Nigeria so it is not just the people from the state that are involved in all these activities that have been mentioned. Benin is like a transit zone with a lot of travelers passing through the city daily. As for the witch craft thing, we grew up hearing several stories here and there but I never witnessed or experienced any such thing. I only know that I used to always come across pots containing stuffs used as sacrifice by the road side regularly and that has also gone down in recent times. Yes, they travel abroad a lot but it's not everyone that comes here for the same reason. I am somewhere in the American continent today studying and working and I know so many others who grew up in Benin who are doing well for themselves in their business and professional life in different parts of the world. Let us try to understand the criticality of the contents we post on the internet. We need to always strike a balance and refrain from giving out information we are not 100% sure of the validity. Benin like every city has its ups and downs (the good, the bad and the ugly). We need to embrace other peoples culture and way of life so we can integrate easily wherever we find ourselves and live happily together. I live you guys with this quote; The Danger of a single story, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche: “The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.” ― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie |
wealth360:Overall I'd say they are okay. I used the airline when I came in last year. I had a long lay over (18hrs) in Casablanca and they provided a room and meals for the period. I know some other people here in Canada who used it and there was no major complain. If you have a connecting flight when you arrive Canada, please ensure to check in your luggage. The Air Maroc staff in Lagos airport that checked me in told me that I'll get my luggage in my final destination so I didnt even bother to check when I landed in Montreal cos I trusted His words and also cos I needed to get immigration clearance (study permit) and catch my final flight (Air Canada) which was to leave in an hour. When I got to my City I couldn't find my luggage so air Canada informed me that it may have been left in Montreal and assured that they'll track it and send it to my address which they did after about 3 days. When I received it, all the locks I used for my bags were broken and some of the food items I packed were tampered with. In terms of cost, I think they have the best rates from Nigeria to Canada. You can google 'travelstart nigeria' to compare prices for available flights to your location. |
Hi All, My concern is that many of us want others to visit the NDDC HQ for them but we are not putting ourselves in their situation. Try to imagine if it was you in PH and be sincere with the house if you will volunteer to go there or not. I see a lot of selfish statements been made here and I am sorry if I hurt anyone for writing this. I'm just worried that people cannot reach an agreement in a small forum like this. I have been on other forums in nairaland and can tell the difference from my little experience. It leaves a lot of room for doubt if I have to be honest with myself. This is why I have refused to respond to anyone sending me PMs from here because I believe it is for personal gain and not for everyones benefit. So must it be PH people alone that will sacrifice for the forum? Please do not also forget that there are others who followed the process that are not on this forum. If I may ask, who represents them? That is why we have various means of communication and as long as it is used decently and effectively I do not see any reason why it will cause any harm. Unless we stay together from here we may not get any tangible result. I bet you its possible that some people in this forum have some inside information. Again I am sorry to say that, but this is how we have made our country look. I think it is very unfair to ask for help that you cannot give. Please feel free to criticize any part of my statement. It is just my opinion, I can be wrong and I am open to correction. Good luck to Everyone... Thank You! |
Some of us already in Canada and even though we ever fit pay complete fees, school and country have been treating us nice. Naija is always making life look so hard. We are far from progress in Nigeria. Nobody to even explain the reason for the delay, no form of communication. They make it look like they are doing us a favour with what belongs to us. They can't even treat their own children like this, they will use our money to bring them here and give them the best with our nations wealth. Its bullshit Man!!! They don't really care about us, they don't. I sorry for my country, honestly. A day will come, one very day wen hungry men go eat up all this thief's for our country. |
For your informate my savings account shows my monthly salary coming in and if you sabi SOA well well company name go show for there, my pension account also is enough proof that I work, my mansaard life savings nko I put my employment info on one of the CIC form. I'm not a desperado and will never be. The last thing I will do here is to Gold plate like you want me to and list documents I didn't use. Yes I paid an agent and He delivered. I work and can afford to use an agent to get what I want genuinely, is that a crime FYI agent is a Canadian Citizen with vast experience and did the needful to convince the VO in the Letter of Explanation. Everything I listed previously was what I used, no more no less. Wether I go Canny or not, Bros I bam for Naija on my own.Just don't mislead people because "what you don't know exists". Your degree is not a prison yard. Education is a tool to thinking. Education sets you free. Oga!!! I'm too busy to have your time. Na you be Solo wen Wizkid dey talk about for that Runtown jam (Lagos to Kampala): "even solo talk say I no go blow but right now........" This is the last time I will post anything here because of people like you. Egbon casie!!! If you want the TRV you can come and collect it. casie26: |

Good Day Everyone. Below are the documents I used during my application: CIC Forms Sponsor's Bank Statement - Corporate Account (Sponsor is my Uncle with same Surname) Sponsor's Treasury Bill Investment from same account Sponsorship Letter (stating that sponsor will provide entire funding for the program; fees + living cost) My Stanbic Pension Statement My Mansaard Life Insurance Savings My GTB Savings Acct (Salary Account too) Letter of Explanation to VO (don't sound desperate). An agent was involved and for me it was worth it. Truth is every application is unique but you have to ensure you have the minimum requirements like Course of study should be related to previous study or work experience, Available funds should cover costs and cash flow should be okay, dont leave room for suspicion/doubt etc. NOTE:I didn't notarise any documents, did not include my pay slips, no letter of introduction from work place, no study leave letter, did not use any CAC document from Uncle, no affidavit was used, no shares, land or property documents was used even though I could have been able to provide them. Lesson: ask questions, take risks that will not land you in more trouble, do the right thing and trust God. omooba2015: |

Good day Everyone, I got a mail yesterday (3:32pm) for medical examination and went to The Consultant Practice in Ikoyi to do the needful this morning. I paid #28,050 only for the exercise. Doctor said it will take about 1 week to send the result to CIC. So I'm back to my "patiently waiting mode". This afternoon I received another mail from CIC stating that my application has been updated and when I checked online I found that the medical section now reads 'We need your medical information'. I guess that was just an update to my application status based on the mail received yesterday. I think paper application is fast for now, I met someone who applied (paper) April 19th and got medical mail May 3rd. Just my opinion anyway. I applied online on the 10th of March and 9 weeks later (yesterday) I got medical mail. |
Oga Team16, Na wa for you ooo. There is what is called 'risk tolerance' and I see clearly where you stand based on your comment on this issue. In my opinion and from my little experience, risk assessment is carried out to avoid future problems. So I'm a bit worried by your position. It's always important as you plan for the present to consider the effect/consequence of tomorrow. Some consequences do not mature until 20 years or more, while some can be early; either way there's always a reaction to our action's (positive or negative). What works for my friend might not work for me. I'm assuming that you just wanted to emphasise on staying positive and achieving what you can for now and allowing the future to take care of itself and not the other way round. Risks are not what we should joke with especially when we are planning. I mean no harm here please just a candid advice. All the best as you package your documents for application. Team16: |

I'm patiently waiting to be called up for medicals. Applied about 8 weeks ago. Whats up with ya? Team16: |
Thanks Boss. It worked out that way. Imagine NDDC not responding to my persistent complaint on this issue. We really have a long way to go in this country, walahi! Too many incompetency in our government institutions. Another key thing is to try not to include any special character when naming your documents (thats before you upload them). I think thats what is causing the query. Hope everyone here can make it before deadline. Good luck! arshavineering: |
You can also reach them via the number in the publication. I called again today but there was no response. Will try tomorrow and persist till deadline day. For me its not a do or die affair because I dont really trust NDDC based on my experience with them in 2012 . ace19: |
I had the same issue too. I contacted them immediately on the 21st of April and I was told they will forward my complaint to the consultant. Till now there has been no response but I will call them again today. I'm certain it will get sorted before the last day. ace19: |
Applied online 10th March, did biometrics 11th March. Resumption is September 2nd. When are you supposed to resume? simisolataiwo: |
Hi Guyz, Just noticed this morning that deadline has been postponed to Next Friday 29th April 2016. I guess this will help those who are yet to meet up with all the requirements. For those having issues with the gif, google is always a good friend in situations like this. Just use the right words to search for help. In the search engine just type "jpeg to gif" you will be able to do the conversion easily. And yes my picture displayed on the page after I uploaded it. I had a problem when I clicked the submit button. No reference was generated, I only saw a page with alpha-numeric characters which was more like an SQL query. I already contacted NDDC and they promised to work on that. I wish everyone out here Good luck! |
I was offered an M.Eng (Mech Engr) with UNB. Just waiting on CIC for now. @pampem also confirmed He/She got an MBA slot at UNB. You going for UnderG or Masters? What Course? Kulllchi: |

Vickthorea:I guess you wanted to type "logic" and not "login". This kind of mistake can be the reason, my 2 cents. |
KELVIN086:If you've never heard of Obax you are on a long thing boss. I attended an interview there Sept 2011. Google is always our friend anytime anyday so if you are not sure you ask? |
babacha:Me wen be learner? I gree get power to challenge BABACHA, you see that name Only you nah chairmen. At least all them wen dey follow you hold ground for grammar self go learn from this. Bros yeeee only you be Broses, you too much. Nice one............. As e be so if you do mechanical key point for the house office go pay well ooo. Lol!!! Cheers bro! |
babacha:Oga! Get it clear, there are four stroke petrol engines that use carburetor. Look for an old Peugeot 504 engine and you'll see it. We are all here to learn bro.......... I can see you have some good mechanical knowledge, nice one. Here are some questions for your attention 1.) If an engine is not designed to be water cooled (i.e. no radiator) what other means can be used to cool it? Explain the principle behind it. 2.) Why does a two stroke engine generates more smoke than a four stroke engine? 3.) A pump comes alive when powered on but it's not pumping, what could be the problem? |
