Then you buy more, average down and hold. Long term, Naira will always lose against the dollar.
Buying more might be a very big risk, from the information I got from an impeccable source, FG wants to digitise dollar in Nigeria. Like turn into crypto form to curb hoarding and speculation. Hoarders and speculators are the major reasons why the rate is astronomically high. This policy is likely to be implemented next year.

I will stop buying as from next year to see how it goes

What if the dollar crashes to 800naira?
grin grin grin

I will lick my wound and accept my fate. No Biggie! grin

But I make informed decisions, dollar will get to 1200 -1300 by December. With that alone I don make cool 200k and above.

Yuletide season, there is always a high demand for FX. You dont need a financial analyst to tell you this.

Yes, I'm not. But everywhere I go, I know the exaxt amount of fuel that will take me there. What makes ehailing different?

Besides, he has bought the car already. There's no harm in trying.
Baba, Personal driving and Ehailing driving na 2 different ball game, buts let not go deeper into that.

Now that he's bought it, I could give him some hints on how he can maximize profit with big tanks or else he will be accruing losses everyday.

I drive Toyota Camry muscle. It's almost the same thing with big daddy. It's for experience drivers who know how to maximize profits in this perilous time of our Economy not for newbies who wants to start this business afresh.

That's why I didn't include it

You should have asked before you bought it na.

Since you have bought it, as long as you keep the car in pristine condition(o2 sensors, coils, plugs, airflow meter, e.t.c are in optimal condition) and you drive yourself, you should get by. The rated mpg is 18

If you drive 200km a day and work 6 days a week, you would have spent N12,000 extra on fuel a week (N2,000 a day) compared to someone who drives a Corolla in pristine condition and maybe N6,000 extra compared to most corollas on the road since they have one issue or the other affecting their fuel consumption.

Most of the routine mechanical parts like brake pads, linkages, filters e.t.c you'll be changing frequently are not so expensive compared to corollas.

You can give it a try. All the best.
You are not an Ehailing driver. From your advice I could tell

Good day everyone that has been upholding this thread and helping people find their feet in the Uber/bolt hustle...

Please guys I have a question,I just got hold of a lexus Es300...please is it good for Uber .I intent to drive it myself .
Lexus ES300 is not a suitable car for the hustle.

1. It's 3.0 litre engine. It will consume more fuel, not fuel economical

2. It's 70 litre fuel tank. U go buy fuel taya. full tank na 42k, Half tank 21k.

3. Lexus part are very expensive. One small damage will swallow your 3 months earning on Bolt and leave you with nothing to save.

4. It will take you 6years to recoup your investment. By that time the car fit don quench before the time reach to reap the fruit of your labour

5. Lexus ES300 is too big to navigate the nooks and crannies of bad roads of lasgidi. Danfo, okada and keke will scratch your car easily. They will dent your car. You can't navigate Bad road easily with big cars like ES300.

Solution:

You need a compact car like Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Matrix. These are the 3 best for this business. They are rugged, strong, reliable and easy to maintain. And fuel efficient

Asper Driver score, when u see a trip u know u will not fulfil, no point picking it. Just decline or ignore till it rings out.
Then when ur acceptance rate starts to go too low, before it reaches 50, u start accepting and cancelling.
This way, u maintain both parameters above the threshold.
Pearl you know all this things you no talk on time, if I tell you how many drivers wey dem don block because low acceptance rate, you no go believe. 6 in 10 drivers are on suspension including me. How to get my account unblocked is what I have thinking since 5days ago

Bolt is just annoying now, they expect you to waste fuel to pick up someone so far from you for a trip of 2k
Where is sense in that...
There are no much cars like before. Fuel subsidy removal is affecting the business. Alot of partner has withdrawn their cars from the platform as drivers are not meeting up with weekly rental, and even the weekly rental of 30k or 35k didn't increase in this current inflation. No reasonable thinking partner will rent his car out for such amount weekly especially if the car is Tokunbo. Even naija used don cost. Car owner drivers and higher purchase drivers are the only ones on the road now. I guess thats the reason for Long distance pick up. They need to work on that long pick up or else they will end up blocking all their drivers, cos no driver likes long distance pick up.

uber is far from perfect, some days you will go out and come back vexed and angry..other days you will smile. their current promotion of 11,500 per day(after 15 trips) is what is still keeping me there.
Wow! They use to be number one, Bolt overtook them, now Indrive is the rave of the moment. Currently Indrive has more drivers than Bolt and Uber. Every blocked Bolt drivers has ported to Indrive, if you ask majority of them, they will tell you Indrive is best thing to ever happen to them, because of 10% commission and freedom to choose their trips. But their fare is what I don't like, it's very low except when there is surge on bolt. As for Uber, from what you just said I think half bread is better than none. I will register with them this week. A friend of mine told me Uber has the best surge. Christmas season is around, there would be scarcity of ride. Demand will be very high. No matter how imperfect Uber is, I will still make some good cash

I have a guy on our group that finished HP in18 months.. But it wasn't strictly via Bolt,/Uber.. He got a lot of offlines travelling..interstate..

There was a particular one he got to Abuja to and fro around 200k. When fuel was still 460 +.. and numerous offers like that.
The earnings from the offline travels made bulk majority of the repayment plan.

From my observation, the longer the
HP tenor, the less likely the chances of completing the payment.
18 months ! It takes God grace, hard work, focus and discipline to pay off higher purchase in a short period of time

it seems I would registered on Uber, are there trips on Ubers. Is it profitable driving on uber

Bolt blocked my account because of low acceptance rate. How person acceptance rate no go come down when I am getting long distance request of 4km to 20km and above.

I have rida

I have Indrive

I need either Bolt or Uber for Christmas season.

It's like Bolt don't have much drivers again. The pick up distance is usually very far. Few drivers in a location each time I open riders app. People don dey drop the hustle. What will happen when fuel hits #800 to #1000/per litre. It's inevitable cos landing cost of fuel in depot is 720 already. Government is paying subsidy codedly to maintain fuel at its present price.

If you're not ready to pay 70k per week forget it!
grin grin grin.

Any partner giving out tokunbo car for rent, this should be the weekly rental according to the current inflation.

1. Toyota Corolla (Uber spec) 70k

2. Big daddy 55k

3. Matrix 60k

4. Muscle 50k

But the peanuts this app coy offer drivers won't even allow partner recoup investment
