The SW is self sufficient and can produce our food because of our fertile and nutrient-rich soil. At a point in time while growing up, everything we consume in the house grew right there in our compound from fruits to vegetables of different varieties. It's urbanization and influx of people into SW that's killing off our agriculture.
Reason I keep hammering thet SW leaders need to check influx of ethnicities like Igbos swarming into Yorubaland. Our coming Yoruba generations will pay for our carelessness today.

Lastly, Cotonou is closer to us than North.. If not for boundry, it's cheaper and easier getting food items like tomatoes, pepper, onions etc. from Cotonou than North.

Influx of other ethnicities to the south west is not what is killing agriculture in the region but laziness and lack of direction from Yorubas. How come influx of igbos did not stop the mushroom of churches growing everywhere in south west. Yorubas are not creative or matured enough to singlehandedly run a country. Stop talking about what Awolowo did in the 50's, talk of the capability of the present generation, you are nothing without the contribution of other regions.

Imagine SW generating all the revenue while the centre takes it to share to other unproductive regions at the detrimemt of SW people. Take your eyes away from lagos state, lagos state achieved that lot because it was a former federal capital and the rippling effects got to Ogun state. Remove other ethnic tribes from lagos and watch it turn to another ibadan, do not make it look as if Yorubas are special or did anything extraordinary to get lagos to its present condition, just look at the condition of other states outside lagos in the west, compared to other regions.

So why are they collecting the allocations? where are the monies generated from SW entering in the SE and other parts of North??
