One of the reasons why OAU remains 'Great Ife' - one could almost forget the existence of cultism. I stand to be corrected, but I believe EVERY caught cultist is alway publicly beaten and disgraced irrespective of the status of their parents in the university. Maximum Shi-shi. RIP Damino...[/quote]Yeah you are right and they also do it to people who steal on campus and fight publicly on campus. |
I read on nairaland yesterday that upcoming musician and final year banking and finance student of LASU Damino Damoche was shot by people suspeted to be cultists. I attend Obafemi Awolowo University and cultism is not really a problem in my school. Just want to find out from people of other universities if cultism is present in their school. |
If you are a law student, lawyer or someone who is just interested in court room proceedings these tv series are what you should watch. 5>>> HARRY'S LAW Harry's Law revolves around Harriet Korn, a recently fired patent lawyer, and her group of associates as they come together to form a unique law firm in a rundown shoe store in Cincinnati. In the second season, the practice is moved upstairs to a larger office with the help of prestigious lawyer and friend Thomas "Tommy" Jefferson.(very good for criminal proceedings and tortious proceedings) 4>>> THE PRACTICE The Practice is an American legal drama created by David E. Kelley centering on the partners and associates at a Boston law firm. The Practice focused on the law firm of Robert Donnell and Associates (later becoming Donnell, Young, Dole, & Frutt, and ultimately Young, Frutt, & Berluti). Plots typically featured the firm's involvement in various high-profile criminal and civil cases that often mirror current events.(very good for legal and professional ethics) 3>>> OUTLAW Outlaw is an American one-hour courtroom drama stars Jimmy Smits as a Supreme Court Justice who resigns from the bench and returns to private practice in an elite law firm where Claire Sax, love interest to Garza, is a powerful senior partner. As part of the deal the firm has an Ex-Supreme Court Justice on their staff of lawyers and Garza is allow to pick his team and the cases he work. (very good for legal and ethical argument and also law and morality) 2>>> THE GOOD WIFE The series focuses on Alicia Florrick, whose husband Peter Florrick, a former Cook County state's attorney, has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. Aliciareturns to her old job as a litigator (having taken 12 years out to be a stay-at-home mother) to provide for her two children.(this is a very educative series about law and politics and gives you an insigth into how the prosecutor office works) 1>>> SUITS The series, set at the fictional law firm Pearson/Hardman in New York City, follows Ross after he stumbles into a job interview with Specter, who is searching for an associate. Ross is undoubtedly the best candidate for the position, a position he obtains without having a law degree. (this series for me is the best legal series ever made it combines everything from crime to torts to life style angry it only has 2 seasons waiting for season 3) Thats my list if you disagree with me lets ear your opinion. ebamma: and how much were obasanjo your grandfather don give back? The fact that Obasanjo has not given back stolen money does not make what Atiku did right |
Nigeria against all expectation home and abroad won the nations cup after 19 years. The last time the country won was in 1994 and this pave the way for a good percentage of the then 1994 squard to get lucrative contract from "big" clubs in in Europe. With the exception of Mikel and Moses who both play for Chelsea most of our players player for lower teams in Europe and some of them play at home in Nigeria(six players including Nba). Now the question is would winning the nations cup help some of the players to get better clubs or would the clubs be afraid of buying Nigerian players because of their "African tag". |
i have read so many post by atheist on nairaland and there is something that is consistent in their argument which is rich knowledge of philosophy. So my quetion is does philosophy negatively affect your religious beliefs or does it just help you think better. |
Just realise today that an action cannot be so good that it would not have a flip(bad) side. I remember reading 2 or 3 years ago that Warren buffet and Bill gates made a promise to give almost 50% of their total wealth to charity and i thought that is as philanthropic and noble as any one could ever get, but today i read an interview of the current richest man in the world Carlos Slim popularly known as "slim" where he was quoted as saying that bill and warren giving 50% of their wealth would not solve the problem of poverty, that instead Bill should use ideas like he has done in the past to create more jobs for people and in his opinion this would be a more potent way of tackling poverty. Even though his statement sounded a bit harsh at first, a second look at what he said made me realise that he might actually be right because if you look at it donating money to charity would only give a temporary fix for the problems people are facing but not a permanent solution. Then i realised again that someone else might argue that "Slim" is just being miserly and does not want to part with his fortune. I guess it depend on who you ask. |
holly-pagan:It just an advice and it not in your place to respond for tonto |
codeaddict: Listen to yourself - God created the earth in 8 days..So, I'm a product of NOTHING, but your God is a product of SOMETHING. How?Why?When?Where? It's all in The Holy Bible. A book that has been constantly disproved and re-disproved. How stupid does that sound?guy i think you did too much philosophy in school and you did not see it as what it is "a course" |
Brand_new: I don't get the logic. He finds an operation too risky to try despite someone offering to pay the bills yet he want them to die via mercy killing. He needs to be slapped into his senses for that.Really if you are told that one of your twin have a 1 in 5 chance of surviving and not even the two of them when they are in perfect health at the time would you consider separating them |
now this is the problem i have with the nigerian legislature instead of of enacting laws and policies that can adequately tackle the major ploblems of Nigeria like corruption, security etc. we enact and on issues that developed nations face like gay marriage and ban of alcohol but i guess that is what they can focus on since enacting laws on corruption and the likes might affect them negatively |
just happy to make first page |
i dont think his original interntion was to resign outrigthly, i think he is just using it to get a better offer from the NFF. He knows he has bargainning power since he won the nations cup and he is cashing in. |
