[quote author=efosasere post=44450771]I remember when I first came to The Netherlands as at 2005. It's something I'll never forget in my life. I was walking down to the grocery store to get some stuffs and someone from no where threw bananas at me and made monkey chants. I started crying and even the people around started laughing. Some Nigerians and some black guys started laughing at me too. When I asked while they were laughing, they said that was how they cried when they first entered the country too.

The Dutch people use it as a way of welcoming you into their country especially when you're new. Some are equally unrepentant Racists too but I've equally gotten used to it. Once in a while when they insult racially I insult them in return with my native language too which is Bini. They get angry when you insult them in your native dialect cos they don't know what you're

@op you think Obama doesn't know that Nigerians are suffering due to incompetence of Buhari but that won't stop Obama from been nice to Buahri as the President of the USA (the host), I can bet u if God should expose what Obama and other world leaders are thinking in their mind about Buhari you will be ashamed to put up this thread.

Buhari is the least qualified to be there and I can bet you he didn't learn nothing from his visit there excerpt he went there with an assistant, next time he should please send our Prof the Vice Presido for stuff like this.

At times I laugh when I hear other tribes insult the great bini empire but everyday evidence keeps coming up to show that the empire was indeed a great one.

The Nigerian government should sit up and create a world class tourist center for artefacts like this and watch people from all over the world come to Nigeria for stuff like this.

Omotola is so on point, the Government is only inetrested in collecting tax. It's not just state government alone the Federal is also collecting huge sums of amount as withholding tax.

Lagos state is all about Tax;
You will pay tax,pay land use charge, pay development levy, pay for business premises and pay for Lawma. Nothing is free in Lagos and still they embezzel the money and don't provide nothing for the citizens.

They think say Nigerians be fools abi, people blood dey hot o.

100 cedis? =#5000. My dear, your word just made me laugh now. I don't know why people are actually going to Ghana but in my way Nigeria is better if we can improve in our light and apart from that in business you can't compare Nigeria to Ghana. An average Ghanaian can afford nothing more that wakye to eat which is like 3cedis and can't afford to buy one big digestive biscuit for 8cedis which is like 350 and same biscuit is less than that in Nigeria. You guys are living in difficulty in that country especially the low class I pitied more. Your government are making life difficult everyday increasing all tariff and all. I don't see any special thing in Ghana as a whole oh to me. If Ghana population can be increased with just 50% you will know that you guys are in big mess. Unfriendly people especially your ladies. Very timid set of peeps #enoughsaid

Na wa o so Ghana cedis don improve small be that, I don't blame them for the way they are insulting Us i blame our useless government.

Our immigration should also make visa compulsory for all Ghanaians that want to come to Nigeria and the ones here should also have a means of identification as Ghanaians.

Ur sister's knowlege concerning yoruba is not the alpha and omega of how Yoruba should position their culture, lady i believe u are a knowlegeble one and I expect u to reason logically and holistically,my own family told me several thing comcerning other tribes, especially the igbo's,but I will be fool to act on that, because I know what i wud ve lost today,in terms of relationship, money, values etc.....like so many people do say igbos involve in criminal activities, but I can vouch for all my igbo friends, they are just too lovely, and always happy to be around them, several things being said about igbo ladies but today the are my best girlfriends.
For the fact that someone is not ashame to promote her culture doesnt give u the permission to rubbish her heritage, mind you we are ignorant of what we dont know.......how will u feel if a Yoruba, Hausa, ijaw etc doctor that suppose to treat u I'm the hospital to save ur life decided not to do that because you are not from his/her tribe base on what someone told her about ur tribe?

Baby, the problem of Nigeria today is not only tribalism but the tribalist who never see anything good in their fellow human because he is from a different tribe.......u can also help ur sister, believe she might also be ignorant of the truth!
Every other tribes can tell u the other sides of ur own tribe that u wont like at all,but that doesnt make them truth.......remember u and ur sister is not God....and he created everyone including tribes in their unique ways which culture is party......instead of u insulting his works, use that to praise him because that shows his creativity power!

Thank you noted!

Well, since it is from experience, no problem. Lagos is filled with a lot of frustrated people. So, dont blame them, it could be down to frustration. i once had a Calabar woman( origin deduced from her english) shout at me for walking (according to her) too slowly on the streets of Mushin. She kept on rambling even after she had "run" past me. That was pure frustration.

You are right frustration might be part of it.

If you would be rational, you'd question your aunt's personality and behaviour. Why does every yoruba person she knows, does that to her? How many yoruba people does she know? How many yoruba people do you know?

i am a rational being, i wouldn't generalise that every igbo person kicks their parents in the morning to wake them up, just because someone i know has said it.

i wouldn't say every woman from Benin is a prostitute, just because i have had interactions with just 2,and the exhibited traits of prostitutes. Morale of my story, stop the generalisation. Thanks

I am sorrry about the way i passed my message i wasnt generalising, there is no perfect person out there.

And for my aunt none of thoses stuff happened to her she got to know a lot about yoruba people because she has worked with them and have few of them as friends, the funny thing is when she ask her friends why there do that at times to people they just laugh over it they dont even deny it.

I on the other hand i had my primary, secondary and University in lagos so when my aunt was explaining to me i was able to relate, i dont think most yorubas do that out of hate i think its just a normal thing for them.

@op i think you need to mind your business what the Vp's wife decides to do is her business though am a litlle disappointed but its her life not mine.

My aunt has made me realize one thing about the Yorubas is that they are very pretenious and that while they are greeting u on the outside they are insulting you in their mind.
You need to see the way my aunt described them which is very true because i have witnessed it happen to someone, a yoruba person will greet and hail you and immediately you turn your back call you oloriburuku and all sorts of names.
