This is what am talking about a president and a Prime minister system

The president controls these agencies that's y they are puppet. We need a new system where the president doesn't have power over these agencies or even appointment of judges and ministers.

In that case, even if u decamp to the president's party. The agency will still persecute u for being a fraud because the party affiliation lacks power of control of the agency.

Too much power in one man is what is destroying this country.

I must say, if the president is just the head of government and not the head of state, this would be more favourable to the nation.

Let say, we have a president that appoints the ministers, make federal appointments, exercise executive power, appoint judges, accredit ambassadors, make pardons etc. And a Prime minister who controls the government (head of government) synonymous to the "Office of the current Nigerian President", that will limit the power of the Prime Minister(the current Nigerian President viz-a-viz Tinubu), and thus the Parliament(Senate) can function independently without influence by the prime minister (Tinubu). This will bring a complete check and balance.

Also, the Judges will act without fear of the Prime Minister(Tinubu). 1, they are not paid by the Prime Minister (Tinubu) and the Prime Minister can neither sack or appoint them.


This will automatically end rubber stamped Senate and a complete check and balance will be observed.

Nigeria is complex and the people are different from most people in the world. Many of us are self centered and hypocrite. What will work for America may not work for Nigeria because of the Uniqueness and Complexity of the Nigerian people.

But an absolute check of power will compel the Prime Minister(who holds the current power of Tinubu except appointments and some others...) to act in favour of the people and in line with the constitution.

Now, if the president is elected by the people. The prime minister will be nominated by the Senate, just like the Senate President but with more power and independence.

If you have a contrary opinion to this, i would love to hear it. Let discuss what would help our nation.
