Crime › How Do We Stop 419's In 9ja by geolabious(op): 12:53pm On Sep 17, 2008 |
I and some friends are trying to setup a campaign to stop 419.
Since we use the internet often, we are fed up with these scammers in our midst doing serious damage to our person and country.
Today, when you mention Nigeria, the world sees you like a thief. No body trusts us. 419ers have done a lot of damage to this county. Yet we’ve don’t nothing about it. Read an article: Evil things Nigerians do online at:
http://oxcheck.net/na/4.html
Please suggest ways to stop 419. What do you think can be done to stop the menace? What can be done online or offline? Should it be left to government alone? Are the banks responsible? Can cyber cafés do something? Can the ordinary Nigerian at home or aboard do something? |
Adverts › Making Money In Nigeria by geolabious(op): 12:42pm On Sep 17, 2008 |
Dear Nairalander, Let’s talk about how we can make money in Nigeria, where opportunities abound. In fact I believe Naija is the world’s best open secret in terms of investment opportunities. All those things we complain about are opportunities to make serious money. Here are some opportunities I personally think are worthwhile Transportation: Imagine how much money is there to make if some savvy investor will start a well-run transportation system to chase away all those dilapidated Molues and Danfos; Some guy has started a bus service called City-Link in Lagos and I’m sure he’ll do well. Telephony, Imagine how much MTN GLO, and ZAIN are raking today and there’s room for greater growth. Money can be made in support areas like Rural telephony, etc Hotels: The South Africans (e.g Protea Hotels ( http://www.proteahotels.com/search/result.asp?code=ng)) are rushing in with some first class hotels in our major cities. I hear Marriott is also coming into PH. But there’s still room for 1st class serviced flats, B&Bs etc Schools: One of the best investments in Naija today is the establishment of Pricvate primary and secondary schools. I wish the Government will sell off some of their public schools Real Estate: If you can afford it too there are several well-located Public and Private well designed estates springing up all over Lagos. Houses in VGC valued at 7m about 7 years ago are now worth 22m. Imagine Stock Market :For those (like me) who cant afford such high profile investments, have you considered the Nigerian stock Exchange ( http://www.thenigerianstockexchange.com) After a discussion in the old board about 2 years back, I decided to give the Nigerian stock market a try and I've not been disappointed overall ¡V although some specific stocks are under-perfoming. Apart from good dividends (even in Dollar terms), there’s also a widespread practice of bonus shares (as opposed to stock splits in the US) which in some cases has doubled the number of holdings. For those who don’t have the time or who aren’t sure about what stocks to pick, there are also some very good performing mutual funds e.g. IBTC’s ( http://www.ibtc-lagos.com/Mutual-Funds/IBTC-NEF.htm) Another good news is you can now get real-time quotes at the NSE’s website and also do some limited trading online via sites like Liquid Africa ( http://www.liquidafrica.com/). Here’s hoping you will all find ways to take advantage of these opportunities before the South Africans and other discerning “foreign investors†invade the whole place. Does anyone have other ideas of how to legally make some dough in Naija? Dem say if person dey cry, person dey see road. |

Now you are in love and you'ved asked me same question but my answer will be different entirely. 'because you said you will not have anything to do with woman
Since you said both of you are Virgin.
Disvirgin (disflower) Her, sleep with her time's without number even though she don't, before she get another guy that is perfect,
Or
Impregnate her and disown the pregnancy,
Or
I start to call both of you Mr & Mrs Olabode Elijah Gbega
Note:
Not that this advice is bad but you can remember what you did told me sometime ago. so don't be angry over this,

pollock: @geolabious
what i mean is "most" guys will think " Na because we be agemate, thats why she dey talk to me anyhow, , if i had a younger girl she will not dare talk to me that way" but in fairness to the lady she is just reacting just the same way some other girl will, but most commonly guys tend to interpret it different because of the ego. Romance › Re: Can U Marry U Age Mate? by geolabious(op): 11:03am On Sep 16, 2008 |
pollock: Men have Egos, which is very normal or expected, but it becomes negative when u are with someone your age or older
Typical scenerio( Example)
when u have a younger girl, and u guys get into an arguement, and she says something that is quite insulting, u will most likely overlook it because u would say "Na small pickin dey worry am". u will easily forgive her, and she will love u more because, u understand that she is young and immature.
but when the girl is your agemate or older in same situation, u will feel more insulted because of our "Male Ego", and it will be difficult for u to deal with, then she will think " u are acting immature", and she knows if u were older, u will overlook it.women know these things, its very normal. U are right but , |

Romance › Re: Can U Marry U Age Mate? by geolabious(op): 10:23am On Sep 16, 2008 |
pollock: I think there is more meat to the topic, anybody can marry anybody, but the true hidden question is " will the marriage work?", alot of folks have highlighted some factors, especially in our nigerian culture, just to add some
1. Respect. this is very important in our Nigerian culture, (i have seen alot of Nigerian marriages that have failed due to this especially in the US) 2. Level of reasoning, 3. Level of exposure 4. Women want men they can look up to 5. Physical apearance( i hate to say this, but unfortunately its true), no woman wants to look older than her husband)
from my personal experience and experiences of people i know. i hope this helps, word of advice don't get into a relationship with your agemate and waste years before u realise that it will lead nowhere. nip in the bud! Good luck!!! Kasa Final |
