Well, any other tribe that bears Osakwe may have borrowed the name from Igbo. Anambra and Anioma area of Igboland are synonymous with Osakwe. From Nnewi, Oraifite, Onitsha, Ogbaru and Anioma bears the name. One of the richest Nnewi families are the Osakwes.

Osakwe is the short form of Olisakwe.
Osaji also is the short firm of Olisaji.
