[s][/s]Governance is about service because those chosen to govern are empowered to do so. Here in Nigeria,the powers that have hitherto been vested by those empowered to govern has often been misused. Governors come and go but while some are enjoying their lives as ex- Governors, unfortunately others are not. Not that those that are enjoying themselves are saints,no. For today,here are some former Governors who have been sent to prison. You can add your own to the list.
Joly Name is a former Governor of Taraba State. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison for corrupt related crimes.
Joshua Dariye, a former Governor of Plateau State was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for corrupt related charges.
James Ngilari,a former Governor of Adamawa State was jailed for five years for engaging in corrupt practices by an Adamawa State high court but was later acquitted by the court of appeal after 2 years.
Most recently, Orji Uzo Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State has been sentenced to twelve years in prison too.
So my dear Governors continue to Govern with all the powers vested on you. If you like, Govern well ,if you like blow big big grammar until your tenure expires. My own beat is to compile and trust me,I will do it well. Who will be the next former Governor to be imprisoned?

I remain my humble self and can never support evil. Yesterday morning, the news of rape that took place about two decades ago was agog on social media. The supposed victim Mrs Busola Dakolo, a photographer
married to a musician came up with a story about how her mum travelled and the gate was not locked. Then Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo knocked on the door and she went in her night gown to open the door after which the pastor raped her right inside her house thereby disvirgining her. After the act, he went back to his car and brought a bottle of Krest for her to drink telling her that she should be happy that he was the one that took her virginity. Meanwhile, Busola's sister was still within the same "big duplex" but was not aware of what was happening to her sister. The story did not just end there, according to her, she was also raped in other instances by the same pastor. Pastor Biodun has come up with his own defense that he has never raped, not even as an unbeliever. My grandma( of blessed memory) has always told me that it is always good to hear both sides of a story before I draw my own conclusion. I have drawn my own conclusion already as I can not allow someone to come and insult my sensibility. I don't know your own conclusions oh but Dakolo's wife should report this case to the Police and then investigation should be carried out. We should be very sure that Pastor Fatoyinbo actually raped her. Let this not be another case of Joseph and Potiphar's wife. It is a very simple thing to tarnish someone's image especially in this age of social media but what if this Pastor is not guilty? Will his innocence also go viral?. I am just thinking aloud. Remember that Potiphar's wife actually had Joseph's shirt with her but in reality, Joseph was innocent though there was just no way he could prove his innocence. Let me end this piece by emphasizing that Nigerians should be cautious, before we crucify the COZA pastor, let's first establish that he is guilty as charged!

Recently the rate of death through suicide using sniper has been alarming. In a bid to reduce the incidence, NAFDAC restricted the sale of 100mls sniper in the open markets and supermarkets. Following thie restriction on the sale of sniper there has been mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some see it as a welcome development, others see it as an exercise in futility claiming that there are a thousand and one ways through which suicide can be committed. Rebecca Felix, a final year student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka in her remarks is of the opinion that the Government should have embarked on enlightenment campaigns especially to make the youths understand that suicide can never be a solution to anyone's problem instead of banning the product. Hear her, " If someone who has made up his mind to commit suicide does not see sniper, he or she will look for other alternatives so, if NAFDAC has decided to ban sniper, they should also consider banning knives and ropes. But we all know that it is not possible to keep knives and ropes out of circulation so, then why must they spoil someone's business instead of embarking on attitudinal reorientation of her citizens ? "

The delay in release of the 2019 UTME results by the Joint Admissions and matriculation board has caused panic for candidates who have been expecting their results in the last two weeks. Unlike last year's UTME which was released early, this year's exercise took a different turn as candidates are yet to access their results.
It will be recalled that JAMB's head of media and publicity Fabian Benjamin stated on Friday the results will be ready from Monday April 29, 2019. Consequently, candidates were sighted in their numbers around business centers yesterday in a bid to check their results to no avail.
Fabian has stated that the results are all ready but are yet to be released because they are still being ratified. As candidates patiently await their results, we wish them all the best.

Those that are saying that the lady is an adulterer should also consider whether she was in the know that Azotani or whatever they call him told her that he was married.

A Nigerian lady has demanded for justice following the release of her naked video on social media. Ms Ogochukwu Okafor, a young mother of a six year old son was lured to the home of her facebook male friend Ifeanyi Azotani only to be humiliated by Azotan's wife and her friend who got her nude and recorded the event on video before releasing the said video on social media.
The Anambra Commissioner of Police Rabiu Ladodo who paraded Azotani, his wife Tochukwu and her friend Ogochukwu said that the culprits stripped their victim and video recorded her naked.
Ms Ogochukwu who spoke to newsmen in Awka frowned at the incident stating that it ruined her reputation and career. She reiterated that she would never be assuaged by any kind of plea to rescind her decision.
In contemporary times, cases of women publicly humiliating other women for the sake of their husbands has been on the increase. One wonders if the aggressive women ought not to caution their husbands instead of humiliating their fellow women.

Fortune has smiled on Success, a primary school pupil who was sent back from school for not paying 900 naira yesterday.A visibly angry Success was interviewed as she was going back home and she said she preferred to be flogged instead of going home. Hear her,"no be say I no go pay, them go dey pursue person instead of them flog person. The cane go tire them go tire for flogging,them go flog, flog, dem go tire ".The video was posted on social media and it went viral. The same day, well meaning Nigerians including her local government chairman Hon Eugene Inoaghan located the girl and her family. Some made cash donations while others promised to pay money for her education to the tertiary level. It is my prayer that the promises be fulfilled. Success 'outcry also helped about ten of her fellow pupils who could not also pay the 900 naira as some well meaning Nigerians who were at Success 'school to pay the money decided to lend a helping hand to others. This is indeed a positive manifestation of social media and it is a welcome development.

The All Progressives Congress has rejected the results of the governorship election held in Akwa Ibom on saturday March 9, 2019.
This position was made known by the Akwa Ibom State governorship collation agent of APC Bishop Samuel Akpan who contended the authenticity of the result insisting that elections across the State were shambolic, gotten through fraud and malpractice and therefore would never be accepted by APC in the State. He called for a cancellation of the result and was visibly angry.
Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel of the PDP polled a total number of 519,712 votes to defeat Obong Nsima Ekere of the APC who had 171,978 votes.
Ironically, reports gathered by Society Issues showed that the APC intimidated the INEC members of staff sent to Essien Udim including the adhock staffs sent there. This was made known by the collation officer for Essien Udim, Barrister Nsikak Nsenam, a lecturer with the University of Uyo who spoke exhaustively about the treatment that they received courtesy of the APC. Despite the outcry the APC are still the same people complaining about election malpractices.

APC supporters have laid siege at the INEC headquarters along Udoudoma Avenue Uyo. They are demanding the immediate removal of the INEC resident commissioner for Akwa Ibom State Mike Igini.
The youths are threatening to raze the INEC headquarters.

Nigerian politicians are a bunch of interesting fellows. They must always have their way no matter whose ox is gored. Imagine how these fellows wanted to rubbish me. They wanted me to stand in the sun, queue up and cast my vote yet, the vote will not count. Na waoh! Imagine a governor's aid with INEC sensitive materials.
