I have being going Tru all d comments here, most of them are educative. Op, I want to b sincere in my comment, from spiritual, biological, to physical point of view, u may not be virgin. But from good conscience pt of view, u may be considered a virgin n accorded the respect of a virgin. Don't mess up urself because it had being proven here that you are not longer a virgin, I will advise that you keep urself til Ur wedding night. May God help u. |
Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) , s the first petroleum University in Africa n sixth in the world, it was established in 2007 by Federal Government to train high level man power for the oil n gas and Allied companies. People often mistake it for( PTI) Petroleum Training Institute Effurun. Fupre is differ from PTI. Though schools are sited in Effurun Delta State. Fupre offer courses in Engineering and sciences. U can drop all matters relating to fupre here. B u a fuprite or aspirant, all of u are highly welcome. Great Fuprite, I greet u dynamically. |
The first Electrical Engineer was William Gilbert who design versorium ( a device that detect the presence of statically charged object, he was the first to draw clear distinction between magnetism and static electricity and he was also credited with establishing the term electricity, in 1775 Alessandro Volta devise electrophorus (a device that produce static electricity). in1800 Volta develop the voltaic pile, a forerunner of the electric battery In the 19th century In 1827, George .S. Ohm quantified the relationship between electric current and potential difference in a conductor. 1831 Michael Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction 1873James Clark Maxwell published a unified theory of electricity and magnetism 1893 standardization of unit was done at Chicago, Volt, Ampere, Coulomb, Ohm Henry and Farad was adopted. Thomas Edison built world first large-scale electrical power network and switched it ON in 1882 those provide direct current to 59 customers on Manhattan Island in New York City. 1885 Universities started to offer a bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering example of such schools are Massachusetts institute of Technology, Cornell University etc. More to come |
U can tell us more, while I am typing the part two of my write up |
This days, most of secondary school leaver thought that electrical/Electronics Engineering is all about NAPA. That is a minute part of it, it is far more than that, before I deliberate on Electrical/Electronics Engineering, let us take a brief look at Engineering as a whole First what is Engineering? ENGINEERING is the discipline, the art, the skills and the profession of acquiring and applying scientific, mathematical, economical, social and practical knowledge in order to design and build structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes that safely realize improvement to the lives of people. That is to say Engineers are problem solvers, he uses those knowledge mentioned above to solve human’s problems. Some people do see Engineering and Technology as same, but they are different though similar. HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING The historical development of technology and engineering by man has been more of a gradual process from primitive technology of stones and stick to the present day high technology of computer and space travel. In (3500-1000BC) the discovery of the following metals (copper, bronze, iron), bring a change in the Engineering World. The use of metal was a great improvement over the use of stones because they could be shaped into any form and absorb larger forces, this led to the discovery of the six machines in which modern technology is based, they are Wedge Incline plane Pulley Wheel axle Screw. In the 19th century industrial revolution occur in Europe and North America, this was fuelled by the discovery of steam engine by the middle of the 18th century in England with such engine many sophisticated machine were built. Different technology develop include mining, shipping, advance form of transportation, as time went on, electric motor was invented in 1821 by Michael Faraday, replaces steam engine as the prime for many factories, steam turbine invented by Rudolph Diesel in 1893 replace steam engine as major power source for transportation. Also at this time atomic principle was used to manufacture atomic bombs, power generation from nuclear energy were developing during this era. For precise control and monitoring, many electronics devices were developed such as ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) by Presper Eckert Jr and John Mauchy in the middle part of the 20th century. In Nigeria, modern Technology and Engineering came with colonisation and it gradually replace what was existing, the colonialist built roads, waterway, bridges, railways all over the country in addition, public utilities were establish THE ENGINEERING FAMILY The council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) recognises four cadres in engineering professional practice in Nigeria, they are Craftman/Artisans (Technical College) Technicians (OND Holders) Technologist (HND Holders ) Engineers (B Eng Holders) And the ratio of Engineer:Technologist:Technician:Craftman is 1:2:4:8 MAJOR BRANCHES OF ENGINEERING The major branches of Enginering are: Agricultural Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical/Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering Material and Metallurgical Engineering. Other Engineering discipline include Production Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering Biomechanical Engineering, Control Engineering,Gas Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Now let focus a little on ELECTRICAL/Electronics Engineering. What is Electrical/Electronics Engineering Electrical/Electronics Engineering is concern with the 1. Design and development, testing a vast Electrical machine, generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. 2. Design and manufacture of various communication component and system such as radio, television, microwave systems, telegraph, telephone etc 3. Design of Electronic equipment and computer. Therefore Electrical/Electronics Engineering is simply the field of Engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronic and electromagnetism. It became an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century, after the commercialization of electric telegraph, telephone and electric power distribution. T. B. C |

Naija farmers I appreciate n celebrate u need Ur families |
Farmers in the first world countries are highly celebrated, they even among the richest people (though mechanize farmers) in those countries, because they r d feeders of the Nation. But in the developing countries, like Nigeria for example, farmers r relegated except the rich ones whose source of money may not even be from farming. In our country today once somebody introduce himself as a farmer we look down on him instead us to celebrate my respect him as one of the feeders of the nation. I remember some time ago when this sentence '' u son of a farmer" was regarded as an insult, We need to change our attitude towards farmers n start celebrating them. Thank God the government of the day is now focusing her Attention on Agriculture. I know one day we shall have farmers day, my parents are not farmers but I think we need to appreciate not celebrate them. Drop Ur Comments to appreciate our farmers. Thanks |
bamite:They should settle FG for once, the law must take its course. It is a deliberate attempt |
MTN Sha, they shld just settle FG for once na. A Nigerian company cannot do this in SA |

Back then in primary school, when ur mum take u to d market to buy u new school sandals, she will b advice to buy u a size bigger than ur actually size (for instance, if ur actual size is 30 she wil buy u 32), hoping that u soon grow to that size (he go big reach the size). the funniest thing is that, some times u may not grow to the size they bought u before it will destroy. I experienced it once. Fellow Nairalanders do u experience this too? Feel free to comment, Or just share some funny primary school moments. Thanks |
NemzySeries:Thank u sir |
Griffon:Nigeria have all d categories of human, I think there are more of right thinking ones. |
