Good day all,
Pls I am about to apply for study permit VISA for my wife while I apply for SOWP and our baby (2 years) will be on a visitors VISA (I will like to know if this is the expectation, please).
My passport will expire next year and my Wife's passport is still carrying her maiden name (although, she has sworn affidavit already) and it will expire by 2026 (although, she will be going for a 2 years course of study).
Do we need to renew all passports (myself and hers) while she also renew hers (cos of the change of name, as she used her new name in the admission process).
Is it a must to also get all 3 passports ready before VISA application as we are already trying to sort out the Baby's passport.
Responses will be well appreciated.
We are looking at Jan 2024 (Seneca). |

Welsh2np: Kindly try to re-punctuate. I’m finding it difficult understanding your concerns.
However from the little I understand as part of your concerns- when you do a new passport (as in a passport renewal) after submitting an application for a SP, it is recommended you send the data page of the new passport in a webform to IRCC.
And there’s no “best time to do a new passport”. If you know your passport is due to expire in the next 6Months to a year, you should renew it. Also, if you require a visa that’ll be longer than the due date of expiration of your passport, you could also think of renewing your passport already.
Your questions are so misleading to say the least. That’s why no one has been responding. Especially question 1. Are you supposed to have two passports? When you do a new passport, aren’t they suppose to cancel the old passport?
As per question 1 above, and I quote “... nd present new passport at POE??”
Now my own question to you is:
Which passport would you be sending to IRCC for the counterfoil SP? And - how do you intend to travel without a study permit evidence on your new passport? Or do you intend to be traveling with two passports Hello @Welsh2np, pls I will like to confirm if it is advisable to go for a new passport cos of a change of name. The passport will expire in 8+ years' time but just to be on the safe side. |

beccadamilola: Starting your application by August ahead of September intake is a risk sha why not submit around April/May instead so you still have time ahead. I won't be able to do complete biometrics till after July. |

Good day all,
I just got admission to both Humber (1yr prog) and Seneca (2yrs prog) but looking forward to going with Seneca cos of the PGWP time which will be 3 years (Sept 2023 intake). The challenge now is that I won't be able to do Biometrics for now till like somewhere around July/August for some personal reasons.
Should I go ahead to accept the admission while I wait till July/August before starting with my application or inform the school about this event, pls? |

mummyprincess: Good day all! I applied to Seneca college for fall 2023 for 2-yr diploma courses. 1. Does anyone know long an offer is open to be accepted/ confirmed? 2. How long is the duration they give for someone to pay the 1st semester fees after the offer letter has been sent?
I got wait-listed at this time for my 1st choice meaning that this wait list is not for any other intake but got an offer in my 3rd choice 2days. ago and was told that once I have accepted the program, all other program choices will be cancelled and an official Offer of Admission letter and package will be emailed to me within 2 business days.
I don't want to immediately accept this offer since it will cancel out where I am on wait list in case an offer will come from it eventually, most importantly, I wouldn't want to loose out entirely by not knowing how long this offer is open to me to make a wise decision with the 'bird at hand'. Thanks Hi, pls when did you apply? Still looking forward to getting a decision for my own application. |

Bobomaigida: So sorry for the refusal, the best thing now is to request for CBSA notes to determine the exact reasons for refusal. That being said, the GRA payment is small for a family of six for a month, then the 10.5mm balance was it built overtime or it was a lump sum payment? The Pension fund is also small since only 625K will be available to you. Just quickly request for the notes which will arrive middle of Feb and then you can reapply. if i want to add pension fund to my POF, will i need to request for a letter from my pension fund handler (Using trust fund). |

That might also FasTrack visa processing. I will not advise you to apply using tourists or visitors visa . Thanks a lot for your response @Ikiloba. just a follow up question, pls. How can i go about getting a genuine doctor's appointment and will this be in-line with us trying to process a Student permit..or which of the VISA will this be? |

Hi all, i want to believe this is the wrong thread...but I believe I can still get the help needed, pls.
I plan to travel on Vistors VISA for a medical purpose (i.e. delivery) while still waiting for admission which hopefully should come next month (since they stated that it will take 6 - 10 weeks) for Fall admission.
From our calculation, delivery is to be around July (by the grace of God).
So, i want to confirm it is advisable to pursue Visitor VISA or just wait till i sort out my study permit.
NOTE: I am sure one can update the status from Visitor to Student.
also, for processing Visitor VISA, wouldn't mind knowing if there is any agency that can help out on that, pls. |

We've tried writing to the school but the response is that we might need to create another application since that is another academic session so I will like to know if that means we should just ignore the application already created or if there is still anything possible that can be done, pls. |
