CelebritiesRe: Comedienne Princess Regrets Going To Oyemade’s Church by gidig(m): 3:52pm On Dec 10, 2012
This matter was dealt with some days ago and we thought it had ended but some people have simply given it a new slant to bring it up again. Church bashing actually sells these days. So, I guess nairaland needs one to draw people in. I actually don't think the episode did her image any good in the first place, especially when the pastor was humble enough to apologize to her. Like I said, its church bashing season.
Christianity EtcRe: Usher Embarrasses Comedienne Princess In Poju Oyemade's Church by gidig(m): 10:10am On Dec 04, 2012
Please people. stop insulting the young lady. God does not love her any less because of what she did. Mistakes were obviously made in the manner the usher talked with her and perhaps she may not have handled it well by taking it to twitter but the pastor has apologized and lets let this go, please.
Christianity EtcRe: Usher Embarrasses Comedienne Princess In Poju Oyemade's Church by gidig(m): 10:07am On Dec 04, 2012
I do not know about any other church but at Covenant Christian centre, there are no special chairs. We all seat on the same types of chairs. If you have an ego problem, it is not the kind of place you want to go. They don't raise any special offering for anything and emphasis is placed on your personal walk with God. I found the place after years of being disgruntled by what the church did to me when i was a young christian and I had my doubts initially because of my very critical nature but its authentic place to worship, if what you are into is purely a relationship with God and not some new age teachings to get rich quick scheme.
Christianity EtcRe: Usher Embarrasses Comedienne Princess In Poju Oyemade's Church by gidig(m): 9:52am On Dec 04, 2012
amanda, imagine you come into a church and people just seat on arranged chairs as they please. Even when the sermon is being preached, people who come late will walk to the front of the church and be a distraction to others. It is just order and the Bible talks about order in doing things. If you go through the Bible, you will see how God creates order in the things he does. people follow order when they buy their tickets for planes but when they come to church, they start acting funny.
Christianity EtcRe: Usher Embarrasses Comedienne Princess In Poju Oyemade's Church by gidig(m): 1:16am On Dec 04, 2012
How do you create a news out of a none-news? Sensationalize it! That is what this is all about. I also attend Covenant Christian Centre and I can tell you that we don't have any special seat for people. The pastor does not have a special seat, neither do any group of people, except nursing mothers and choir members who have to come on to sing. Apart from those everyone else seats as directed by the ushers. People generally want to sit anywhere they like but the ushers have a duty to fill the seats as people come in in an orderly manner.Otherwise, people will simply seat as they feel. I do not know what transpired between the usher and this lady but I do not think the reason is because she is single. No such policies exists to deny anyone a seat because of their marital status. If any usher said such, he or she is wrong. I have had reason to be directed to some seats in church that did not give me a great view of the pulpit and I have had to comply because it is all part of Christian Character to be humble. Afterall, it is just under two hours service.

Its good thing pastor Poju apologized to this lady. Every member of that church will be shocked that an usher said that because it is not consistent with the nature of the church and the pastor. he is the simplest person in the world. As much as a part of me thinks there must have been a misunderstanding between the lady and the usher, this has been blown out of proportion. Since she has done the right thing by confronting the usher after the service, I think it should have ended there. If its God we all came to worship, he watches over everyone na.

Films have been produced and books have been written about Jesus that would have been termed a mockery but Christians wont kill anyone for that.

PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by gidig(m): 11:17am On Aug 15, 2012
You really need to step forward as a witness o!!
Although I wount blame you if you dont... Nigerian Police no sabi witness, only accomplice.
But atleast thanks for clarifying the scenario..
Of the over horde of witnesses that were there when the incident took place, you are the only one who saw that the woman was making a scene even when Lastma had taken a picture of her vehicle and were about to tow the vehicle. And when the investigators got to the scene to ask a wide range of people question, including those who were there before the accident occurred as well as those selling things and making a living there, who in good conscience were sad that the death took place but still maintained that she was not responsible for her the man;s death.

Let us even buy your story. Does that ,mean she is responsible for the man making a phone call and across the road at the same time? If the man had taken a poisoned drink after the argument that you saw, she should then held responsible for the death that occurred? I know that someone has died and the Agency involved is somewhat humbled by the pulling apart of their fabrications but why has nothing been said about the transport vehicle that killed the man. Everyone- including LASTMA- seem to be fixated on the female banker. is it her fault that she is banker and drive a SUV? Does making her the prime suspect a response to the sense of outrage the middle class people have against the conduct of some of these LASTMA officials? If LASTMA is very serious about getting to the bottom of this, they should get the actual person who killed the officer. I am sure that between the park and a few bus stops, someone should be able to know where he is. You can almost sense that they are simply not pursuing that angle. And that seem to the bottom of this. After all, the danfo or molue driver does not work in a bank owned by a Mu;ti national that can be harrased into doing something. The right step of Justice should be the pursuit of the true killer of the officer.
PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by gidig(m): 8:29am On Aug 15, 2012
Naval sadiq: Yea i find it very strange that a photos of the lady and the lastma official was taken even before the demise of the official.those people who accused her wrongly should be be apprended by the police and charged to court because it's a serious offence under the law to accuse some one wrongly for a crime he or she did not committ.as for yinka thumbs up to her.she can as well charge the lastma authority to court for accusing her wrongly and in end finding them to avoid future occurence because it has come to my notice that the authority in lagos has a way of victimizing people jst for their own self fish interest.
OMG! this has been explained before na. It is a standard procedure with them these days to carry camcorders around and record the point of arrest for evidence. What is so difficult to understand about that. LASTMA took the photograph. Yinka is my friend and i had asked her where she got the pix from. She said from a LASTMA site or something. I couldn't understand what she was saying because her baby was crying and the police in Panti were complaining of so many visitors for her alone the day after. She did not take the picture- LASTMA did. you can then imagine how shocked she was when she read the James Bond version of the incident has narrated by LASTMA. And even though I am not making an excuse for her driving on the side of the road against traffic, if you visit the scene and judge how people who live on that side of the estate can go to VI, the route has been their only option to connect the only break in the median. The other alternative is to get to Ikota before turning back. Mo provision is made by LCC for people around here. It is almost everyone is being forced to head towards the Toll gate!

Some of the comments I have read here are so ridiculous, based on some very fantastic conspiracy theory. THIS THING HAPPENED IN THE OPEN! PEOPLE SAW IT. WHAT IS THE DEBATE ABOUT? aND ALL THE WITNESSES SAID THE SAME THING. THAT WAS WHY THE DETECTIVES DROPPED THE MURDER CHARGES.
PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by gidig(m): 4:56pm On Aug 14, 2012
CHESSBOARD: There is no driver in that car, the woman probably was in the back where d guy was standing, but the question who took the pix and why because this is Nigeria
well< the picture was taken by LASTMA officials. it is part of their procedure when they arrest vehicles for such offense. They took the pix and turned around to accuse the woman of using the same vehicle that is about to be towed to kill their colleague some metres away.
PoliticsRe: A Danfo Killed The LASTMA Official. Not The Banker - Eyewitness by gidig(m): 2:58pm On Aug 14, 2012
murder charge has been dropped. it was not even brought to the court after the police investigation. She is now on bail to answer only traffic offense. LASTMA get ready your lawyers cos you will answer against malicious prosecution and defamation of character!

aspabay: I see a grand conspiracy by some Lekki elites to win public symphaty for this woman and make us believe she's innocent.
The TRUTH will be revealed soon.
I am not Lekki Elite and I know she is innocent not only because she is my friend but because it is the truth. The whole thing took place in the public. The witnesses are all alive and they are not Lekki big shots. The scene is around Ikate, almost directly opposite Zenith bank. You can go there and find out what happened. It did not hapen in America. Today, Lagos State officials came to the scene with family members of the late LASTMA official and they all heard the truth. Its shame that this vendetta is pursued against someone innocent when the real culprit has escaped.
CrimeRe: Banker Kills LASTMA Official In Lagos by gidig(m): 7:16pm On Aug 13, 2012
Witnesses have actually started coming out to substantiate her claim that it was a Danfo that killed the LASTMA officer. Most people were scared initially that since its a Govt agency, they may get in trouble but truth always prevail at all times. The question we should be asking ourselves is why does LASTMA want to pin this death on her and not pursuing the Danfo driver who is the culprit?
PoliticsRe: A Danfo Killed The LASTMA Official. Not The Banker - Eyewitness by gidig(m): 6:26pm On Aug 13, 2012
Thank God. One of the occupants of the Danfo bus that actually killed the Lastma officer has come to Panti to confirm that Yinka did not kill the man. Great piece of news. More witnesses are coming. God answers prayers.
CrimeRe: Banker Kills LASTMA Official In Lagos by gidig(m): 9:27am On Aug 13, 2012
IF THIS IS HOW THEY INTEND TO RUN THEIR STATE POLICE, I AM CONTENT WITH THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE AS IT IS. ONE OGA SITS DOWN IN HIS OFFICE WRITING A PRESS RELEASE THAT IS NOT INVESTIGATED AND WILLING TO SEND AN INNOCENT WOMAN TO JAIL FOR AN OFFENSE SHE DID NOT COMMIT.
PoliticsRe: A Danfo Killed The LASTMA Official. Not The Banker - Eyewitness by gidig(m): 9:15am On Aug 13, 2012
I understand how envious people can get at times when they see a young successful person driving a SUV while they are under the sun, eking out a living. Hating someone because they have what you do not have is a sign that you dont even deserve it in the first place. Investigations have started and witnesses came out to she did not kill the officer. Even though she drove on the wrong way, it is not on the road (it does not make driving that way right). It is a bumpy side path that makes entering the estate easy because of the atrocious and unending road work in Ajah. The other alternative is to go to Ikota and God help you with that as you may be there for one hour. This is something that happened in the open. Anyone can go there to ask what happened. It did not happen in the dark! That is what baffles all reasonable people. All the witnesses are alive. Thank God, they came out when the investigation started.
