Here is a throwback video of Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, ordering the Police to shoot at sight on OPC members if they resist arrest.

In his own words;

"The police have acted according to the instructions they have been given - that any criminal should be shot at sight...anybody who calls themselves OPC...should be arrested or if he doesn't give himself to arrest should be shot at sight."

The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) is a Yoruba nationalist organization in Nigeria. The Yoruba people, who live in the southwestern part of Nigeria, and in neighbouring countries such as Benin republic.

This is coming barely 24 hours after President Buhari made a controversial statement at the APC Caucus meeting in Abuja, where he gave a stringent order to the Police and Army to be ruthless to election ballot box snatchers.

After the emergence of this throwback video, controversies have trailed, following the order to shoot OPC members at sight. But in the video, he [Obasanjo] summarily stated that " if he [OPC member] doesn't give himself to arrest should be shot at sight."
