There is one hitch though, my husband cannot get through to me on magic jack line only on my cell and land line land. Hopefully that will be sorted out in the near future.

Customer service is the worst I have seen. Service never worked for me, not even for one day. These guys are scams and very soon they will be raided by the appropriate agency for defrauding people and coming here to write these nonsense. Pls my people dont waste your money. Customer service has been ok with me, there's nothing i haven't experienced here in the US with other companies. I've had problems and they've fixed them in less than 5 minutes. I'm able to get through to my husband anytime i call him and the line is always clear. They are not a fraudulent company, they are legit. I've been using them since November 1st. I'm not sure if you're complaining about the customer service in Nigeria or in the USA. My husband used their branch in Iganmu and he said they were good. He said they are part of a wireless company called Zoom. I'm neither a rep for them or a marketer, i am merely a restaurant owner in the USA with a husband in Lagos and my experience with the company is good. It's better than buying phone cards. It's a new company, give them a chance before you throw them to the wolves.

Tell FEDEX to ship it to UK before sending it to Nigeria. This way they use their own cargo plane for delivery under the supervision of their staffs so just be rest assured your things are gonna be OK. Also declare all your stuff this will make them liable if it get lost in transit.
I use them to ship extremely important and expensive stuff and i have never been dissapointed. Maybe cos i live in the West Coast i don't know.
I live in CA and sometimes my friend do send stuff to me from other parts of the country to send it for them and they dont mess up. You track everything so no stories. I even use them inside the US and they deliver the next morning. I have always been lucky with them tho. no regrets

Fedex was shipping the stuff from the US to the UK and then on to Lagos. I would follow the package using my tracking # and i wrote everything down the international document form and still stuff would get missing. I'm not sure if that has happens with DHL because i've never used them but Fedex, Never again. I'll try allworld or Ethania when i'm ready to ship stuff home again but not Fedex.

I read up on these guys on the internet.They're in IL but they seem OK. I'll keep you all posted if i use them and how their service is.

The service is going good. Connection is swift and crystal clear, i don't have to dial the number over and over again. I just dial once and i get through. The only thing that happens are dropped calls. It's not too bothersome cos i just call right back. However there's no sound when the calls are dropped so you don't know and you just keep yacking away. It's only after a few minutes of silence on the other end do you realize that the call has been dropped. Other than that i like the service. The most important thing though is the customer service. It's great!

Update! As promised

I signed up with My Nigeria Mobile 4 days ago. The service is very good. I had a few minor kinks with service when i first signed up but My Nigeria Mobile quickly took care of it. I paid for the 2 way starter pack so my husband can call me whenever he wants. The service is clear but it does cut off after 1 hr of talking sometimes but i just call right back. Connection is swift an easy.

I think it's a good service cos it sure does save me a lot of money with those phone cards.

Based on my experience, there are lots of Nigerians that are into Air cargo services.I'm pretty sure there might be one in, or close to the city you reside in.I know a few of those in Chicago, Atlanta & Houston metropolitan areas. I

They usually deliver in 3-5 business days, and rates ranges from $3.00 - $4.50/lb in most cases. Some usually would charge an extra fee (5-10 thousand Naira) at the destination point; mainly for pick-up or whatever. I believe they are all duly licensed Cargo Agents in United States.

But trust me, this is way better than any other means to the best of my knowledge. I wouldn't want to go the route of Fedex or UPS or some websites for that matter.If you think this sounds like something you would like,let me know.

Ok so i took the plunge and did it. I ordered the My Nigeria Mobile 2 way starter pack today. Ordering was painless. I took advantage of the $10 off discount coupon special that they have running now. I used my paypal account. My Nigeria Mobile sent me an email within 15 minutes containing my account number. I called my husband and gave him the account number. He will be heading off to their Surulere branch on Monday to get his free cell phone and to get it activated.

I will keep you guys updated!!!

P.S. A guy on Facebook ordered for his 2 way starter package. He said he hasn't been able to communicate with his family since they got their phone activated. They live in Jos. I sent him an email to give me an update on their customer service and i'll find out from him when he ordered for his package and how long it's been since he hasn't been able to communicate with his family since the phone's been activated. I'll keep you guys posted on that too.

Yes,they do accept packages less than 100kg.

They don't have minimum weight to carry as far as I know.

It's because of FedEx i'm looking for another shipping company. Fedex has no control over the custom officials who have been stealing stuff out of the packages i've been sending home. They've stolen everything from expensive wrist watches to common boxer shorts. I will NEVER use FedEx to ship to ship stuff to Lagos again. They have no control over the goods once they get to Lagos and it has cost me $1000's.

I've been reading up on orderbay on this website and Facebook however i think i might not be able to use them. It seems that their main focus is for Nigerians living in Nigeria who want to online shop for things and have them sent to Nigeria from Abroad. That's not what i want. I'll be buying all of my stuff myself and ship them to Nigeria. Do you know if orderbay does that? I live in GA and would like to ship my stuff to orderbay in MD and in turn have them ship the stuff safely to Lagos.

I live in the USA and right now the country is in a recession. I love the US, they've been VERY good to me however if i were just starting out i'd head off to Germany. Although they too are in a recession the government is a little better IMO! Also i heard they're starting free education for Germany citizens which i think is really helpful. Plus you get the European passport which enables you to travel,live and school in any of the European union countries without any hassle.

I'm not sure if they still do this today but when i had my interview with the US consulate 10 years ago they sent me a package containing all the list of things they expected me to bring to the interview. It really depends on what you are interviewing for. For non-immigrant visa interviews they usually expect to see that you have a very stable source of income and housing that you can not abandon in Lagos. All economies worldwide are in trouble now. Everyone is money hungry. The last thing any government needs right now is yet another person living off of them. So if you can prove to the German consulate that you can take very good care of yourself while in Germany, you should be OK. They'll need to see bank statements and any documents showing your financial status. If you're being invited by someone to stay or for a visit then that person should be able to prove that they can support you SUCCESSFULLY during the length of your stay.

I've been using FedEx to ship my stuff and they have been stealing items out of my packages before it gets to the receiver. So i've been searching for reliable shipping companies that ship from the USA to Lagos and thank God i found this thread.

Based on what i've read so far, it seems for now orderbay is who i might use to ship my goods to Lagos. I read up on Ethaniaworld.com they seem OK but only 1 person mentioned them. If i'm not satisfied with orderbay my second choice will be Palemilion. If anyone has any info on these 2 companies before i start shipping my stuff it would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any info on reliable shipping companies based in the USA that ships stuff to Lagos?

I've been using FedEx to send my family things but stuff is always missing once my family gets the package. Even though i fill out the international shipping form and write everything that's in the package word for word, there's always stuff missing. FedEx is saying that it's customs in Lagos that is opening the package and taking stuff out and then resealing the package again before handing it over to my family. Also i pay extra for the stuff to be shipped directly to my home in Lagos and i also pay extra for my family to receive the goods. However not only does FedEx call my family members to come and pick up the items themselves they also charge them a fee to release the goods to them.

Can someone please give me info on any other reliable shipping companies? I've tried DHL but they are way too pricey. It's very frustrating not being able to send stuff home to my younger ones.

Any info would be well appreciated.

Wow! Ok i'm definitely going to get my starter pack. I've spent over $100 on phone cards just this week alone. It's breaking my bank seriously and it's killing me. I won't be able to call Lagos again for another few weeks ( ). Just wanted to know, how clear is the connection? What were the requirements for when your mother had to pick up the phone in Nigeria? Did they give her a hard time?

I keep getting these emails on Facebook from 'My Nigeria Mobile'. It's a new service that's for people living in the USA or Canada that have relatives, friends and such living in Nigeria. They are saying that you can now call Nigeria unlimited for $29/month and you can receive unlimited calls too. Seems fair since i pay way more than that using phone cards. However there is a catch. Once you've purchased the starter kit which includes a phone number and a free mobile phone.The person who you want to be calling in Nigeria has to go to the 'My Nigeria Mobile' local office in Nigeria and pick up their free phone too. Calls can only be made and received to that particular mobile phone once payment has been verified. There's a special going on now for $19/month for one way unlimited calling and 29/month for two way unlimited calling.

Has anyone used this service or is using it? If so can you please tell me how your experience has been? It seems like a good service IF it is legit. My husband lives in Lagos and the cost of phone cards are killing me.

I would choose RMD, he's tall,dark and handsome and also very intelligent. Most importantly he has proved he can be with one woman at a time even though i'm sure he has women wanting him all around.

If he really likes this lady, her having a child should not be a problem.
