Well, popular Nigerian pastor and philanthropist, Tony Rapu, has shared his take on what he feels is the bible’s stand on cosmetic surgeries. According to Pastor Tony, there is nothing in the bible that condemns the act and it is a considerable option for people undergoing emotional discomfort over a deformity. He said: “The bible is really silent about plastic surgery and there is really nothing in it that tells us it is wrong.

“If a person is really conscious about a deformity or physical aspect of his or her body that’s causing them some emotional discomfort, then cosmetic surgery is certainly an option. There are women who have had mastectomies and who have had breast implants and we know many many people who have benefitted from surgeries especially when the surgery is non-invasive and the side effects are minimal.

There really is nothing wrong with enhancing the quality of a person’s life”. Speaking further, Pastor Tony explained that surgery becomes a problem when it is an attempt to fill an emotional void or to attract unnecessary attention. He added that the issue than could be psychological.

Colleague David Hundeyin took to social media to mourn her death. It is a sad and trying time in the Nigerian broadcasting space following the death of young and vibrant broadcaster, Binta Badmus.

According to reports making the rounds online, the young lady had been battling a non-life threatening sickness that had warranted her frequent visit to the hospital.

Corroborating the story of Badmus’ health challenge, colleague and media practitioner David Hundeyin, via a series of post shared on micro blogging platform, Twitter, disclosed that the deceased had developed a back related problem that started when she was working at Smooth FM.

“Worked her way up from studio intern to news reader at Smooth FM all by sheer force of personality and will. Joined Channels, quadrupled her income and basically spent all of it fixing the back problem she developed at Smooth. Took every Monday off to go to LASUTH or Igbobi,” his tweet read.

Lawal called on her well-wishers to continue praying for her family because that has been the only thing that has kept them going. She also appreciated her pregnant friends who stood with her during the trying period.
