Three teenagers have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 20-year-old woman in Paikoro, #NigerState, following a report by the father of the victim.

The suspects, Shafiu Isah, Jawalu Babuga, 19, and Musa Sabiu, 18, allegedly accosted the victim on her way from work and raped her. The suspects revealed that they had been raping girls for a long time and were never caught.

One of the suspects, Isah, said none of their victims or their parents had been bold enough to report them to the police stating that it was very surprising when they were arrested because of the rape.

According to him: “We are street boys, we move from one village to another looking for whom to rape since we have no money to give to girls after sex. .

We usually perform the act where nobody will see us and our victim cannot refuse us sex. We have no means of livelihood and that was why we resort to raping women and girls.”

I woke up this morning in my hotel room in Basel, Switzerland pretty overwhelmed. I can’t for the life of me believe it is 15 years ago today that I sat on that sofa with Funmi Iyanda on New Dawn with Funmi, and did something that shocked Nigeria.

It has been a 15years of many ups and many downs. Of laughters and tears. Of love and hate. The last 15 years has shaped my life beyond what I could have ever imagined that morning when I uttered the word “I don’t want to marry a woman cos the society wants me to”. I look back many times and say, maybe if I haven’t, I could still be in Nollywood now, married with kids. Maybe if I hadn’t, I would be pulling millions of followers on social media and having many endorsements, and hosting shows in Nigeria.

But I did.
I did and it came with a price. A very scary one.
I am here in Basel cos I did. I went to the White House and met Obama, cos I did. I spoke to sold out conferences, halls and schools cos I did.

I call many celebrities and amazing people around the world as my friend cos I did.

I married the most amazing man in the world, cos I did.

Coming out has thought me everything has a price, and I am happy that while it might have cost me tears, doubts, agonies and pains, it has also shown me that life is beautiful and being honest, authentic and real is the biggest gift you can give yourself.

Tiwa Savage has just opened up that her relationship with Wizkid is nowhere near romantic or sexual.

The “49-99” singer who is currently about her international rave had an interview with BeatFM 99’s Olisa Adibua and she was pressed on her relationship with Starboy.

Olisa asked if she and Wizkid are ‘friends with benefit’ and she replied with the word ‘yes’, but not in the cryptic direction Olisa and his BeatFM 99 team are thinking towards. The Anambra State Police Command has declared three kinsmen of a renowned writer, Chimamanda Adichie, wanted.

This followed a land dispute between Adichie’s Abba community in the Njikoka Local Government Area of the state and its neighbour, Ukpo, in the Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The novelist had recently in newspaper publications condemned the intimidation of her people by the police.

She had accused a certain oil mogul in Ukpo of paying the police to “diminish, intimidate and humiliate” her people in order to appropriate their land.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, said in a statement on Thursday that Adichie’s kinsmen were declared wanted for alleged conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace in the area.

The statement read in part, “The Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that warrant of arrest was obtained by the police in respect of the following suspects over alleged cases of conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace at Ukpo in the Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“They are Pius Nweke, Isaac Nwafor and Bennett Anekwe, all males of the Abba community in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“The command enjoins members of the public with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the aforementioned suspects to contact the nearest police station/formations.”
