Nigerian couple, Reverend and Mrs Nnaghe Itam of Foundation Faith Church (Salem Church) in Calabar, have welcomed their first baby after 22 years of marriage.

The baby girl named Gordalli-Evergreen Nnaghe Itam was dedicated in church yesterday, Sunday, Febuary 24.

The church shared photos from the dedication on Facebook, writing:

"Glory to God as our Papa and Mama Dedicate our Global Baby Gordalli-Evergreen Nnaghe Itam, she goes to Church today after 22 years of Marriage. The Joy that fills our Hearts knows no bounds. #BreakingForth #Imagodei #AMCCalabar"

A 38-year-old Islamic cleric identified as AbdulLateef Mustapha, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in his single room apartment in Bariga, Lagos State. .

Newtelegraph reports that the suspect lured the girl into his room when his wife had travelled out of the state for a function on February 16, at Mojoyinola Street, Bariga. .

The victim later told an elderly woman about the incident and the woman raised the alarm and brought it to the attention of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Child Protection Network. .
.
The Coordinator of Child Protection Network, Somolu Branch, Mr. Toyin Okanlawon, said: “Initially, when the suspect was arrested by policemen from Bariga Division, he denied the allegation. .
.
He said how can he sleep with her wife’s cousin? But when the girl was brought before him, it was then he opened up that he only slept with her thrice. .
.
When the girl was taken to the hospital, it was confirmed she was defiled and she had also being infected with Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and her bladder had been ruptured which made her to be bedwetting whenever she sleeps.” .
.
Some of the friends of the Islamic cleric berated him but were said to have pleaded with the DPO to pardon him. His wife also reportedly begged for mercy, saying that they would go home and resolve it amicably. .
.
But the DPO was said to have told the suspect’s wife and friends that there was nothing he could do. According to the DPO, the matter is a state case which no one should toy with.

A gunshot survivor has shared a photo of the scar she sustained on her stomach after she was shot.

Takieyah Reaves was shot in the stomach and the bullet shattered it but, miraculously, missed every major organ. However, it damaged her stomach wall beyond repair so a skin graft was done with flesh taken from her thigh.

The procedure left her looking pregnant and she says people sometimes ask embarrassing questions, like when her baby is due and why her stomach makes growling sounds.

But she's more grateful for life and determined to make the best of it.

Two male TV presenters have been dragged on social media for talking about a female reporter’s boobs during a broadcast break, just after she gave a report.

Gerardo Velazquez de Leon and Carlos Albert, a former footballer, were off air when they were recorded discussing Mexican sports reporter Patty Lopez de la Cerda.

They were caught during an advert break while filming the show ‘Reaccion en Cadena’ (‘Chain Reaction’) which airs in Mexico.

The pair was discussing Patty’s social media activity and accused her of “always showing her boobs”.

In the footage, Gerardo says:

“Bro, this woman has posted photos and says that she finally found similar pictures and put them together to show her boobs 10 years ago and now.

Reading from his electrical device, he adds:

“10 years ago she showed off her boobs and again now.”

Carlos walks over to the presenter and says:

“It is the only thing she knows how to do.”

Gerardo agrees:

“It is the only thing she knows how to do.” At one point he also says: “Tart”.

Meanwhile, Carlos replies:

“She is married and she posts this picture, it is unbelievable.”

The video was widely shared on social media and Patty responded on Twitter .

She said:

“Being insulted for sharing photos of me in a bikini reminds me of the classic ‘if she gets raped it will be her own fault for the way she dressed’.

“Sadly a lot of people think this way. “A society that pulls people apart for taking a photo of yourself in swimwear is what we should be more concerned about.”

Meanwhile, Gerardo has publicly apologised for his remarks and said that even though it was filmed during a break there was no justification for it.

He ended his apology by calling for an end to gender violence.

The friends of a 24-year-old lady identified as O'tega Kehinde Grace, have been thrown into mourning after she allegedly committed suicide in Lagos.

Tega was said to have drunk a poisonous substance, yesterday, at their Mafoluku residence. .

According to her friends, the deceased had a history of talking about going to join her twin, Taiwo, in heaven, anytime she’s feeling sad.

A chat shared by someone who interacted with her boyfriend also indicates that days before taking her own life, she complained about her parents.

Biologists have captured a rare footage of a big Black Leopard also known as 'Black Panther' walking majestically in Kenya, making it the first time the animal has been photographed in Africa since 1909.

Nick Pilfold, a San Diego Zoo global scientist, said they captured the footage after months of watching and waiting. His team of biologists had placed remote wildlife cameras to track the leopard population near Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia County last year when they heard unconfirmed reports of a possible black leopard sighting.

"We intensified our camera placement in the area the reports were being made. Within a few months, we were rewarded with multiple observations on our cameras" he said on Tuesday night.

The female leopard's coat color is pitch black as a result of melanism, a gene mutation that results in an over-production of pigment, Pilfold said. It's the opposite of albinism and although the leopard's coat appears black during the day, its rosette patterns are visible in nighttime infrared imagery.

While there have been reports of sightings of black leopards the last confirmed observation was in Ethiopia more than a century ago, he said. Pilfold is part of a team from the San Diego Zoo working with local partners, including the Kenya Wildlife Service, to monitor leopard populations in the area and help preserve the species.

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a female undergraduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Chitere Okoronkwo, for allegedly killing her boyfriend, Johnmark Osigwe.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said the 20-year-old Okoronkwo was nabbed on Monday at Ama-Wire Urratta in the Owerri North Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the undergraduate allegedly masterminded the killing of her estranged lover at Nkwo-Orji on August 8, 2018.

The CP said, “Chitere Okoronkwo, 20, of Umualumaku village in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, was arrested at Ama-Wire Uratta in Owerri, Imo State by SARS operatives on Monday.

“She was arrested in connection with the murder of one Johnmark Osigwe, 24, at Nkwo-Orji in Owerri on August 16, 2018. It is important to note that the deceased was a boyfriend to the suspect.

“When their relationship got sour and ended, the girl demanded compensation. The deceased, due to persistent threats to life before being assassinated, had paid N1.8m for shop rent and N2m for interior decoration of the shop to the estranged girlfriend.

“Not done with the threats, she demanded N3m, which the deceased gave through a lawyer. Before the money was finally paid to the lady, he was murdered inside his Mercedes SUV.

“After his death, the lady fled to South Africa. Okoronkwo has confessed that she told a guy that she wanted the victim dead due to their misunderstanding.”

Galadanchi said the suspect would be charged to court at the end of investigation.

“Only God can take the glory for saving my life and that of the nine crew members on board.”

He said that it would have been a breaking news on local and international media that Vice President Osinbajo and nine crew members died in an helicopter crash, but God had not allowed such to happen.

No amount of thanksgiving and praises to God would be enough for saving my life and nine crew on board. “God is the one who can do all things, and only him can take the glory; we return the glory to him.“We are here to say thank you, thank you JESUS. We bless his name forever and ever,” he said.

He prayed God to bless all the people that have celebrated with him in the state, the nation and the world at large.

“

All I have to say is that we are grateful and we are moving to the next level; the Lord will uphold us to the next level and Kogi will be number one,” Osinbanjo said.

Earlier, in a live telecast from the RCCG headquarters, Lagos, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, asked the congregation to rise and give glory to God for saving the live of his son, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, from a crash.

According to Adeboye, the devil wanted to take the life of Yemi Osinbajo, but God put the devil to shame.

U.S rapper, BowWow was arrested early Saturday morning in Atlanta after being accused of assaulting a woman at 205 12th Street around 4:15 a.m. .

Atlanta police said the woman, identified as Leslie Holden, and Bow Wow "sustained visible minor injuries." Officers said they "were unable to determine the primary aggressor of the altercation, so both parties" were charged with battery.
