The Police, on Friday, arraigned a 28-year-old Husseini Abdullahi in a Karu Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly duping his fiancee of money and phone totalling N56,000.

The defendant, who resides at Ruga, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, is being tried for criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal misappropriation.

He, however, denied committing the offences.

The prosecutor, Vincent Osuji, told the court that the victim, Khadijat Ahmed, of Old Chief Palace, Karu, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja, on December 3.

Osuji said Khadijat alleged that the accused breached the agreement between them and duped her of N56,000.

“Sometime in August, 2018, Khadijat and the defendant started dating and in the process, she took the defendant to her parents, who did not approve of their relationship because of the defendant’s appearance.

“However, the defendant lured Khadijat to Kano, collected a cash sum of N20,000 and one Infinix Hot 3 phone valued at N36,000 under the false pretences that he would marry her.

“Realising that Khadijat had reported the matter to the Police, the defendant began to threaten her through his friends,” Osuji said.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 312, 322 and 309 of the Penal Code.

The judge, Sani Mohammed, granted the defendant N200,000 bail, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until February 6 for hearing.

Tragedy struck in Florida on New Year’s Day as a man was accused of shooting his wife and her parents after he discovered a video of her cheating on him with his best friend.

Police say William Brian Stillwell, 39, of Satellite Beach, was arrested on attempted murder and child abuse charges, WFTV reported.

He is being held at Brevard County Jail without bail.

Stillwell allegedly went to a house in Melbourne uninvited before he shot his wife and in-laws.
His children, five-year-old twins, went to a neighbor’s home asking for help, WFTV reported.
The children were heard in a 911 call asking their father to stop shooting.
“No, daddy. No. I don’t want anyone to die,” one of the children said.

Following a brief standoff, Stillwell peacefully surrendered to police. The children were not harmed in the shooting.

Stillwell told detectives he recently watched a video on his wife’s phone of her having sex with his best friend.

Stillwell’s wife went to live with her parents after they separated, investigators said.

His father-in-law was released from the hospital while his wife and mother-in-law underwent surgery, relatives told WFTV.

The names of his wife and in-laws have not been released.

Two lovers reportedly drowned while ‘having sex in a river’ to celebrate the new year, and their family have blamed it all on a mermaid.

The two lovers identified as Charmaine Nyakata (21) and 17-year-old Munashe Nedziva, were allegedly having sex in Mayambura River near Prince Charles Dam in Seke, Zimbabwe, when the incident occurred.

While some believed that the man drowned while attempting to save his lover from drowning, the naked bodies of the lovers where retrieved by police sub-aqua divers and the clothes of the lovers were found on the edge of the dam placed on stones.

However Silvester Lafoti, Charmaine’s uncle who conveyed thoughts of the family in an interview, said the family suspected that the two were taken by a mermaid believed to be in the dam. This suspicion was backed by a beer bottle spotted floating on top of the water, before the lovers drowned.

”We have lost a girl who was so brilliant and was supposed to do her Upper Six this year, We are not sure of what actually happened, but from what we gathered from the people who were celebrating New Year at the place, we are convinced that the two were taken by a mermaid,” said Lafoti.

The family further claimed that the two had been taken by mermaid following findings that Charmaine’s body was found without her eyes, however fish mongers dismissed the suggestions saying fishes could have feasted on the body.

Actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has been in the news a lot this year for different reasons. Some days ago, the actress took to her Instagram page to state that another actress, Seyi Edun, had attempted to get her arrested. She stated that when the policemen got to her house, she was already on her way to the airport. However, many people on social media insinuated that Nkechi actually ran away from her house to avoid getting arrested.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Blessing refuted those claims. She said, “Why would I run away because of Seyi Edun? (That means) she must be the president of Nigeria. I was actually supposed to travel on the 17th but I had to change my flight ticket to December 21 because of a movie I finished shooting on December 20. Should I have changed my ticket because of Seyi? I had left my house for the airport about 15 minutes earlier when I got a call from my mum that some police officers were in my house. As unprofessional as they were, they did not even state the main reason they came and who sent them. First, they said I did business with someone and cheated the person. Later, they said I threatened someone. My mum didn’t buy their story because they looked like kidnappers; so, she asked them to leave her house that I was already on my way to the airport.”

The actress also claimed that she reported Edun to the commissioner of police. “Of course, I had to start calling those I know too because it felt like a life threatening situation when I heard that policemen came to my house. What if they were kidnappers? However, all that is in the past now because I don’t think I have time for drama. I want to be drama-free (from now).”

On what caused the rift between both of them, Nkechi stated, “Sincerely, I don’t know who advised her to send police officers to my house without evidence. She claimed I threatened to release her sex tape but she is not even my friend; we are just colleagues. Where on earth could I have got her sex tape from; that is even if she has one in the first place.”

Reacting to speculations that they were fighting over a man, Nkechi said, “Who gave her a man? She is actually with someone’s husband.”

Responding to the actor, Mr Macaroni, who alleged that the actress had become a nuisance on social media, Nkechi said, “That one is just a cheap attention seeker and people like that don’t deserve my reply. I don’t know him; so, that settles it. I don’t care about such comments because they fail to realise that if you don’t make noise about yourself, no one will do it for you.”

Eight persons have been confirmed dead after two vehicles, - a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a commercial bus, rammed into each other and plunged into a river along the ever busy NPA Expressway in Warri, Delta state today December 29th.

The source explained that the two vehicles were on the same lane of the dual carriageway around the Ekpan community axis of the expressway when the unfortunate incident happened. Eyewitnesses say the commercial bus was parked on the side of the road to pick a passenger when the SUV rammed into it and both plunged into the river with the eight persons on board.

“The bus was picking a passenger around that spot when the Jeep (SUV) on high speed ran into it and pushed the bus and itself into the river. Eight bodies were recovered from the wreckage inside the water. It took the intervention of sympathisers as well as men of the Nigeria Police Force, Ekpan Divisional Headquarters to recover the corpses and evacuate the vehicles from the scene of incident,” an eyewitness said.
