The Kogi State Police Command on Wednesday, said corpses of five students have been recovered from clashes between students’ cult gangs at Kogi State University, Ayangba.

Spokesperson for the Kogi Police Command DSP William Aya, made the clarifications in reaction to some reports that 13 students have been killed so far during the clashes.

The Police spokesperson in a statement, listed the casualties to include Justice Keke, a 300 level student of Physics Department who was killed in the campus after a theatre production on Nov. 1.

He also said that a yet to be identified corpse was found in an uncompleted building behind the university on Nov. 2. Also, Abdrulraman Usman Paddy, a 200 level student of History Department was killed at his father’s lodge on Nov. 3.

“On Nov. 3, two corpses, identified as that of Olaruntoba Godwin, a 400 level student of Geo/Planning Department and Ajileye Richard, a 200 level Accounting student, were seen inside the bush behind Harbor Bay Hotel. These give a total of five persons killed and not 13 as reported by a section of the media,” Aya said.

Meanwhile friends of the deceased, Usman Paddy, have taken to Facebook to mourn his death.

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Hajiya Lubabatu Sani Lawal BK, the wife of the Deputy Accountant General of Katsina state, Alhaji Sani Lawal B/K.

It was gathered that about gunmen numbering about 10, stormed her residence located within the Government Reserve Area (GRA) at about 9:00PM on Wednesday.

According to reports, her abductors came in two vehicles including a Peugeot 206 model. They allegedly beat up some residents and searched the house before locating her. She was immediately whisked away by the kidnappers.

Lubabatu who is the younger wife of the Deputy Accountant general had just returned from lesser Hajj with some of her children.

Her husband was recently appointed as Deputy Accountant General. He had served as the Head of state treasury before his appointment.

One Falilat Olatunji has been arrested for allegedly stealing a four-month-old baby boy in #Abeokuta, #OgunState.

Ms Taiwo Bello, the mother of the child, Ibrahim, had left him in the room while sleeping and stepped out to wash her clothes behind the house at Iyana Kajola, Mile 2, Abeokuta, only to return to discover that he was missing.

The woman raised alarm which attracted a lot of people and the police was informed.

A full scale investigation into the case yielded positive result when Falilat was sighted with the baby at Ilewo Orile and was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the suspect, who resides at 23, Jawando street, #Ayobo, #Lagos, confessed to stealing Ibrahim, but claimed that she only wanted to use him to deceive her husband whom she had earlier informed that she got pregnant for.

Investigation further revealed that the suspect was once squatting in the same house with the parents of the baby and was present during the naming ceremony of the same baby.
