The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has ordered water-tight security around embassies, foreign missions, foreigners and their businesses within the country. The order came following attack on Shoprite outlets in Lagos, Ibadan and some other parts of the countries. The attack also led to the looting of the Malls under the pretext of protesting against the incessant “xenophobic” attacks in South Africa. The attack on the mall also left three Policemen injured and a patrol van burnt. Following the development, the IGP has also placed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commissioners of Police across the Federation on red alert in order to ensure that no similar violence is replicated within the country. This is contained in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday by the Force Spokesman, DCP Frank Mba. The statement reads: “The IGP condemns the violent attacks and notes that three police officers were seriously injured and a Police operational vehicle set ablaze. “He also notes that a total number of 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident while a good number of looted valuables have been recovered by the Police.” The Force while recognizing the rights of citizens to air their views on salient national issues as enshrined in our statutes, reiterated that the rights must be done within the confines of the law. The Police also warned miscreants and criminally-minded people who masquerade as genuine protesters to stay-off the streets of Nigeria as it will not hesitate to bring to bear the full weight of the law on any such law breaker. It also advised Parents and Guardians to prevail on their children and wards to desist from acts capable of causing breakdown of law and order in the country. The Force also said it has commenced investigations and profiling of the arrested suspects with a view to establishing their connection with the stealing, malicious damage, arson and disturbance of public peace on the day of the incident. Davido had an interview at Beat FM today where he spoke about his upcoming wedding to his lover, Chioma and also addressed rumors that she is pregnancy. The 27 year old singer who had his wedding introduction on Monday September 2nd, said their wedding will hold in 2020. We have not started all that plans yet. 2020 is the year for sure'' . The Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with the decomposing corpse of a lady found under the bed of a hotel at Sapele. The lady identified as Abina Isaac, was found dead in Ebis Hotel in Amukpe area of Sapele earlier this month. Her father is Ghanaian and mother from Delta State. Spokesperson of the command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the arrest to newsmen but did not disclose the identity of the suspects, said; “We got him through his phone number that took us to Abuja where we apprehended him and from there we brought him back to Delta,” Onovwakpoyeya said. “The politician is currently helping us with investigation towards unraveling the true cause of the incident. We are detaining him at the Sapele Area Command, and we shall transfer the case to Asaba (State Police Command) once we are done for prosecution,” he added. The alleged politician, who reportedly led the police operatives from Sapele Area Command to arrest two other suspects from Benin, was tracked and nabbed in Abuja. The trio are now in the custody of Sapele Command while further diligent investigation is said to be on course. The Lagos state police command has confirmed its officers shut down the venue of crossdresser, Bobrisky's 28th birthday party holding in Lekki, Lagos state today August 31st In an exclusive chat with LIB, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, confirmed that the directive for the shutdown came from the state command. A 40-year-old man has been arrested by men of the Abia state police command for allegedly raping a 2-year-old girl in Uturu, Abia state. Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the story online, said the victim, Ihechi Ndubuisi's mother, sells Akara in front of an estate where the suspect worked as a security man. On August 22nd, he lured the little girl into his security post and defiled her. Ihechi's mother found her baby with bloodstains all over her body. The suspect has been arrested and detained at the Area Command Isiukwuato, Abia State. The Victim is currently receiving medical treatment. A large crowd gathered today at Choba Junction in Port Harcourt as a pastor allegedly cured a mentally unstable man. In a video obtained by LIB, the pastor is seen with a rosary around his neck as he confronted the fully-clothed mentally unstable man. After a while, a crowd gathered as the ill man appeared to regain his senses and the pastor shaved his hair, making him look presentable. Witnesses can be heard making several comments in the crowd. Some said the man, who was now topless, had become mentally unstable as a result of smoking Indian hemp. The Niger State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, Usman Adamu, 34, of the Fadikpe area of the Minna metropolis for allegedly breaking into the Kwarkwata Mosque, in Bosso Local Government Area of the state. The suspect was trailed and arrested by a team of policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command following a tip-off. This was made public by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, in Minna on Thursday. It was gathered that the suspect, who had been on the police wanted list for armed robbery, broke into the mosque and stole an amplifier. The suspect had been named in a series of robberies around the area. In an interview with our correspondent at the command headquarters, Adamu confessed that he had been involved in armed robberies over a two-year period. “I usually steal people’s belongings at the slightest opportunity. I break into people’s houses, especially when they have gone to work and sometimes when they are asleep. I have the tools to open any door I want,” he stated. Asked why he stole an amplifier from the mosque, Adamu said, “I stole it because I wanted to sell it and make money for my upkeep.” The police confirmed the recovery of the amplifier from the suspect. Ajayi Samuel aka Preacher, a final year Accounting student of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos, an affiliate of University of Benin, has been shot dead by suspected rival cultists. Some cultists had stormed the school during the final students signing out yesterday and shot sporadically in the air before leaving. However, today, they returned and trailed Samuel – said to be an only child – to a canteen where he had gone to eat. While stepping out of the canteen, they shot him in the neck, killing him instantly. Immediately the news of his death got home, his dad and mom rushed to the scene crying.
