The prime suspect in the murder of Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Secondary School in Jaji, #KadunaState, Navy Commander Oluyemisi Ogundana, allegedly planned it from the church he attends.

According to TheNation, Bernard Simon, who was removed as Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Secretary by Mrs Ogundana for alleged illegal practices, was residing in the church days before he allegedly executed the evil act to punish her.

It was also gathered that the suspect was earlier evicted from his residence by his landlady who had expressed displeasure over his behaviour.

“He is the General Secretary of the church and when his landlady sent him packing, he moved his things to the church. He was actually staying in the church at the time he planned and killed her,” said a source.

After killing her, mutilating her body with the help of his nephew, Ibrahim Momoh, they dumped her inside a well near a church inside the cantonment.

Bernard then returned to her home the following day to steal her belongings including a laptop, car money and other valuables.

It was gathered that investigators took the suspect to the church where most of Commander Ogundana’s items were found.

One of the 7 suspects arrested over the newly discovered mass grave which cassava was planted on in Benue State, has revealed that he killed his victims for money and mystic powers.

The serial killer and kidnap kingpin identified as Iorwuese Kpila, was paraded alongside others by the state's commissioner of police Mukaddas Garba. He revealed that most of their victims are commercial motorcyclist whose bike they boarded.

“We will tell Okada riders to drop us at a certain location and immediately we reach there I and my gang members will grabbed the victim and strangulate him with a rope, dig a grave, burry him and plant cassava on top of the grave, thereafter we sell the machine to a buyer,” Kpila said.

The suspect who has so far killed 16 people, further disclosed that “the ‘Queen’ who is a spirit told him to kill 20 people before he will have powers to appear and disappear.”

“So far, we have kidnapped 16 persons, robbed them of their vehicles, motorcycles and other belongings, killed the victims, buried the corpses and planted cassava on the graves. The ‘queen spirit’ directed us to do so and after meeting the target of 20, we would acquire whatever we want in life. It is the ‘queen spirit’ that consumed the blood of our victims" he added.

Commenting on the arrest made so far, the police commissioner Mukaddas Garba said investigation is still ongoing. It was also learnt that some of the exhumed bodies seems to have been buried for more than a year even though Kpila claimed to have carried out his activities in Ushongo for only three months.

Peters is standing trial on a 27-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, forgery and use of forged documents to the tune of N978, 401, 732, 09(Nine Hundred and Seventy-eight Million, Four Hundred and One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Thirty-two Naira, Nine Kobo (N978, 401, 732, 09) brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The defendant allegedly defrauded the Federal Government of the said sum of money by supplying 6, 505,140. 04 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, instead of 19,488, 992 litres, being the quantity he was contracted to supply.

The defendant also allegedly forged the documents that were used to procure the product in order to conceal the exact amount he paid for it and receive in excess money for the product supplied.

At the resumed sitting today, the defence counsel, Emefo Etudo, sought to withdraw from the case on the grounds that his client was planning to jeopardize the case and abscond from the country.

Etudo, in a sworn affidavit, also told the court he urged his client to pay back the money upon realizing that he had defrauded the Federal Government.

“My Lord, he agreed to pay the money and subsequently made some payments.
.
“He, however, stopped at some point.
.
“He also informed me of his plans to abscond from the country without paying back in full the money he obtained under false pretence,” Etudo stated.

The defence counsel, in his further submission, told the court that his client was planning to frustrate a similar case after receiving money from parties involved.

Two Kenyan athletes barred from the World Championship after failing to meet anti-doping rules

Kenyan 5,000 meter runners, Michael Kibet and Daniel Simiyu, will not be allowed to compete at the athletics world championships in Doha after they both failed to meet anti-doping rule requirements.

Athletics Kenya (AK) officials said that they hoped that the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) would clear Kibet and Simiyu, who finished first and second at the Kenyan trials, to compete at the global championships that begin on Friday. AIU rules state that athletes must go through three out-of-competition and one in-competition doping test to be eligible for the world championships.

AK Vice President in charge of competitions, Paul Mutwii, confirmed that the AIU had declined a request to enter Kibet and Simiyu in the global showpiece. “Only Nicholas Kimeli and Jacob Krop (third and fourth at the trials) will represent us in Doha. Kibet and Simiyu have not been allowed because they did not comply with the AIU anti-doping rules. We are now very strict with the compliance rules, we cannot make a mistake,’’ Mutwii told reporters.

About 60 Kenyan athletes have been sanctioned for anti-doping rule violations in the past five years. They include the 2008 Olympic 1,500m champion, Asbel Kiprop; 2016 Olympic marathon winner, Jemimah Sumgong and former Boston and Chicago Marathon winner, Rita Jeptoo.

Officials said Kenya would still be strong contenders in the men’s 5,000m in Doha, with Kimeli among the world’s fastest in the event this year, having run 12 minutes 57 seconds in June. “Kimeli is the strongest among Kenyans, despite his third placing at the trials,’’ AK Council Member, Barnaba Korir, said.

The Kenyan team has suffered several setbacks in the lead up to the world championships. Elijah Manangoi announced last week that he would not be defending his 1,500m title due to injury. Also, Jackeline Wambui, who won the 800 meters at the Kenyan trials, and Linda Kageha, who was in the mixed relay team, withdrew after failing to take mandatory testosterone level tests.

A Twitter user has taken to the platform to ask for help while accusing a University lecturer and HOD colluding to prevent a 22-year-old final year student from graduating, except she has sex with the lecturer for marks.

According to @TheBrotherUno, the lecturer and HOD are both in the "faculty of management science".

He said the lecturer is already making the girl have missing scripts and he's asking that anyone who can help sends a DM, so the student isn't prevented from graduating.

He tweeted:

I'm really angry AF. A 22 year old trying to graduate, lecturer wants to sleep with her in order for her to pass. The lecturer and HOD are colluding. Please if you can help DM me. She's in Uniport in her final year and she's likely gonna have an extra year if nothing is done.

A Twitter user asked: "Lemme guess faculty of mgt science."

And he replied: "Exactly!"

He added: "He's giving her missing script already. Babe is scared, says she doesn't want anymore wahala. That she's jus gonna do the extra year. This kinda shit breaks my heart."

Twitter users are already tagging activists to the post to get them to act.
