The BBC Africa Eye sex-for-grades video is not the first time lecturers are being accused of soliciting sex to help female students.

The story is the same in virtually all citadels of learning – Universities, Polytechnics or Colleges of Education.

It is an open secret that so many female students have become victims of sexual harassment.

It should be noted that in May 2016, the Senate considered a bill that would slam a five-year jail term on lecturers who exploit students sexually.

Obafemi Awolowo University

A recorded audio conversation between a senior lecturer in the department of Accounting at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Professor Richard Akindele and Monica Osetoba Osagie, a postgraduate student in Business Administration, went viral on social media.

Akindele was heard demanding to have sex with Monica five times before he would upgrade her score from 33% to a percentage of her choice.

It was also obvious that Monica was not the only student who was embroiled in the lecturer’s sex- for- marks web.

She repeatedly addressed the other person in the conversation as ‘Prof. Akindele’ who protested: ‘stop calling my name!’

Osun state University

At the Osun State University, Osogbo, a randy senior lecturer in the Department of Languages and Linguistics, Dr. Olabode Ajoniyi, was also caught on video having sex in a hotel room with one of his female students identified as Mercy Ikwue.

The case is still being investigated.

UNILAG

Dr Boniface Igbeneghu, University of Lagos
In the 52-minute, Dr Boniface Igbenuhue, a lecturer of the Faculty of Arts in UNILAG, the current sub-dean and the head pastor of Four Square Church, was heard in one of the discreetly recorded videos telling an undercover reporter who had disguised as a 17-year-old admission seeker to switch off the light so he could kiss her.

“Switch off that light, I’ll kiss you for a minute,” he said.

Boniface quizzed the undercover journalist about her age and sexual life, things that are totally out of the purview of an academic mentor.

“Everything that we discussed here be assured that your mother will not hear and anything that happens between me and you, nobody will hear about it,” Boniface told the young undercover journalist.

Ekiti State University

A lecturer at the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, Dr. Olaleye Aduwo, was also alleged to have been involved in sex-for-grades scandal.

The lecturer, in a 29-second video that went viral, was accused of attempting to have sex with one of his students for mark.

During the process, the lecturer was tortured, harassed and dehumanized by people brought by the lady.

University of Abuja

A lecturer of the University of Abuja whose name was withheld was also indicted to have demanded for sex to award marks to one of his female students.

The alleged scandal was blown up after the lecturer, who is a dean, was caught in a hotel in Gwarimpa area of Abuja, where he had gone to have an affair with the student.

LASU

An Associate Professor of Economics in the Lagos State University (LASU) Dr. Sunkanmi Odubunmi, was allegedly caught sexually assaulting an unidentified female undergraduate of his department.

However, after prompt investigation by the school disciplinary committee, the affected staff involved in the scandal namely Dr Sunkanmi Odubunmi, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Dr Ajani Ogunwande, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry were dismissed from the school.

Olumide Ogunremi, a Nigerian who lived in the Newark area of the United States is currently in custody for helping to run a computer hacking and identity theft scheme that ordered about $1 million in office products after stealing personal information from U.S. government workers.

Ogunremi, who also went by the name “Tony Williams,” faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of a single count of wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey said in a statement.

He was docked in a Federal court on Thursday, October 3rd and pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. According to a report by nj.com Ogunremi and his cohorts tricked employees of the U.S. Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Department of Commerce into divulging their usernames and passwords by creating fake websites and sending phony emails that mimic legitimate government sites and email addresses, authorities said.

They then used the stolen credentials to place fraudulent orders for office products mainly printer toner cartridges from vendors authorized to do business with government agencies. Ogunremi and his partners had their orders delivered to associates in New Jersey where the goods would be repackaged and shipped to Nigeria to be re-sold on the black market.

The scam operated for about six months in 2013. Ogunremi, who fled to Canada, was extradited to the United States on Sept. 26 and charged two days later. He is being held in New Jersey without bail. One of Ogunremi’s co-conspirator’s, Abiodun Adejohn, previously pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud conspiracy, and was sentenced to three years in prison in May 2015. Phishing attacks are the most common form of cyberattacks faced by the federal government.

Pentagon email systems, for example, thwart some 36 million phishing-related emails each day. In recent months, agencies have taken a proactive approach, alerting the public of potential phishing schemes before they blow up. In August, the IRS publicized a phishing scheme where fraudsters had created a website similar to IRS.gov in hopes of spreading malware to taxpayers. In June, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency warned the public that bad actors were purporting to send notification from the cyber agency in another effort to spread malware.

The time devil settles in your home is when one gets married to a bad partner. I got married to a wrong woman about 12years ago, we had 3kids, 2 boys and a girl, our first child (a boy) is 11years old. I have been suspecting her for some time now. We've been having issues recently, our families and friends have tried to help us reconcile but she kept insulting me and my family members an attitude which she developed overnight. Initially she stole from my save about a million naira and ran away from home with our kids, I started searching for her, called her people to persuade her to return home because her safety and that of the kids is more important to me and I do not want to know the reason why she stole from me. So I decided to dig up her Facebook account and see who are mutual friends are, I tried to see if I can get the details of the man she runs to. I picture one of her ex, believing he could be the one, but something struck me about this man, my first son has a form resemblance with him, is it possible I am not the father of our first son?, or is it just my imagination? She did the usual again and I vowed never to take her back ,families and friends tried to settle our differences but I refused, they don't want to see things from my perspective ,they don't seem to understand me, they kept using the kids as a bait, I accepted her again.

About 2 years ago, she packed out of the house on her own, insisting I get her an apartment for her and the kids which I did, she demanded for a shop where she will sell frozen foods, I did all she wanted, gave her monthly allowance for the kids and her self. So, I decided to take the bold step, I did DNA test for my first son, after some weeks the result came out NEGATIVE. I almost lost it, I wasn't myself, I called her one on one and told her about the DNA result, she wasn't shock and she didn't feel remorseful, I told a friend of mine who was also close to her to talk to her about the result and recorded their conversation, she said I should not think of digging too deep because I might hurt myself, already the doctor advised that I carry out DNA test on the remaining two kids, few weeks back , I got the results, our second child which is the girl is mine, but the other boy is not mine. So painful after 12 years, I get to know the person I called my wife. Now, she is no where to be found with the kids. I want you all to help me fish out this wicked woman, so she give me my daughter before she destroys her life
