A video of a Ghanaian teacher showing his student a practical example of proper and improper fraction has received praise.

In the video, the teacher is seen carrying a student on his head. and explained that it's a proper fraction. He then takes the child down and attempts to make the child carry him. Students burst out laughing and he explained that the child carrying him is an "improper fraction."

Twitter users have praised the teacher and say he deserves an award because the way he explained it means his students will easily get it.

65 fake graduates apprehended across 37 camps in Nigeria for allegedly presenting fake certificates during their National Youth Service Corps registration, have been handed over to the police for prosecution.

The suspects busted during a verification of certificates presented at the different NYSC orientation camps include Nasiru Yau, Sheu Muktar, Iliyasu Usman, Offor Blessing Chinelo, Mezenwa Ngozi Chidinma, Nwachukwu Chimaobi Curtis, Ononuju Amarachi Nwamaka, Francis Joseph Arinze and Chigozie Evidence Chijioke. It was learnt that some of the arrested suspects claimed to have graduated from Istop University, Cotonou in Benin Republic.

“The total number of fake corps members nabbed during the 2019 Batch B Stream II orientation course was 65. All of them were handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

“They were picked from different NYSC camps all over the federation" a paper which confirmed the fake graduates were handed over to the police read.

This is coming after the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi said the Director-General of the NYSC, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim was stern in his warning that unqualified home-based and foreign-trained Nigerians would no longer pass through the scheme.

“The NYSC is committed to stemming the tide of fraudulent mobilisation of unqualified home-based and foreign-trained Nigerians, especially those purported to have graduated from unaccredited universities in the West African sub-region,” she noted.

Recall that in the last week of August 2019 when the orientation was in its second week, NYSC authorities announced that it apprehended over “50 unqualified graduates who came with fake certificates to the orientation camps” and attempted to get registered. The fake graduates were also decamped.

Blossom Chukwujekwu finally opens up on his marital crisis, says his heart is broken

After weeks of keeping mum on the crisis that was rocking his marriage, actor Blossom Chukwujekwu has reacted to the issues he has with his wife, Maureen Esisi.

There were several reports making the rounds on social media that Chukwujekwu and his wife have broken up and are presently living in separate houses.

Also, there were allegations that the cause of their break up was because ex-wife to Ubi Franklin, Lilian Esoro was pregnant for Blossom.

However, just a while ago in a short Instagram post, Chukwujekwu hinted that he is in his healing process, although his heart is broken.

Charges against Sowore confirms Buhari government's unprecedented level of paranoia — Wole Soyinka

Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka has described the charges against Omoyele Sowore as a confirmation of the Buhari-led administration's unprecedented level of paranoia.

Revealing that he first dismissed the report as fake news, Soyinka added that 'Sowore's Issue' has moved beyond harassment and taken on a sinister direction. He further stated that the nation had failed to learn from past experiences.

He said, “This is utterly depressing news. So, the Sowore affair has moved beyond harassment and taken on a sinister direction. Outside the country where I happened to be engaged at the moment, I can testify that the immediate reaction around me was to dismiss this as yet another grotesque product of fake news, of which Nigerians have become the greatest practitioners. I confess that I also joined in this school of thought – at the start.

“Further checks have however confirmed that this government has indeed attained an unprecedented level of paranoia. I do not believe that the Justice department itself believes in these improbable charges, as formally publicised. So, once again, we inscribe in our annals another season of treasonable felony, History still guards some lessons we have yet to digest, much less from which to learn. Recall that the Nigerian government filed a 7 count charge against Omoyele Sowore a day to the expiration of the 45-day detention order they obtained against the 2019 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in August. The charges centered on treasonable felony, insulting President Buhari and money laundering.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested nine Oro worshippers for allegedly attacking some Muslims in Idi-Iroko, in the Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State during the Oro festival.

The Oro adherents reportedly imposed a curfew on the people in the area on Saturday, which was defied by some Muslims in the area who went out to observe their prayers.

PUNCH Metro gathered that some Muslims and Christians resident in the area were beaten by the Oro worshippers for alleged non-compliance with the order.

It was gathered that many Muslims and Christians, who stood against the act, were also beaten and their properties vandalised.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed that nine suspects had been arrested.

Oyeyemi identified the suspects as Idowu Desu, Monday Akinlolu, Dele Dada, Raimi Jacob, Dondo Sunday, Abiola Azeez, Olarewaju Akerele, Nurudeen Lawal and Tetede Jamiu.

The PPRO said the suspects would be charged to court for breach of peace and other criminal acts.

Narrating his ordeal in the hands of his assailants, a victim, Tolahat Yahya, alleged that the Oro worshippers destroyed his car during the festival.

Yahya, who showed our correspondent his bruised body, claimed that he and his colleagues were attacked on their way to the mosque.

He said, “We were coming back from a programme at our mosque when the Oro worshippers attacked us. They beat us because we did not comply with the curfew order.

“We stood our ground and grabbed three of them, whom we later handed over to the police.

“The intimidation is too much; they refused to allow us practise our religion despite the agreement that the Oro ritual will not be performed at daybreak; they did not obey that.”

A peace meeting was reported to have been held on Thursday between the Muslims and the Oro worshippers.

The meeting, however, ended in deadlock.

Our correspondent, who obtained a copy of the report of the peace meeting held before the Saturday attack, gathered that the traditional ruler in the community allegedly refused to sign a Memorandum of Understanding proposed by the Muslim community.

He was reported to have insisted that the community had been performing daybreak rituals for long and would not stop.

The monarch further said the Muslims must be ready to either accept the tradition or leave the community.


He said, “I am the king here and I have authority over all my subjects, which cannot be queried by anyone.

“Traditional worshippers are not criminals and any action you see them take is a counter reaction to an action.”

But in his reaction, the leader of the Muslim community advised the monarch to ensure that the community obeyed the judgment of the court that warned against observing the Oro ritual at daybreak.

The High Court sitting in Ipokia had given a judgement that the Oro adherents must desist from holding their festival at daybreak in any part of the area.

Students, who reside in Auchi Polytechnic hostel, Estako West Local Government Area of Edo State have described the current situation within the institution as worrisome, calling on the school management to urgently arrest the ugly trend that may cause grievous harm to students, especially with the current alleged invasion of the hostel by reptiles.

The hostel inhabitants, comprising students, canteen operators and business owners, told our reporter that they now live in fear as they don’t know who may likely be the next casualty concerning the recent discovery of snakes that now fall from the hostel ceilings.

According to sources, “We now live in fear over the recent discovery of snakes in the hostel.

“We are living in fear in this hostel, snakes were found and killed yesterday in one of the girls hostels. Snakes are now everywhere and nothing is being done about it.

“Somebody (one of the girls) was bathing in the bathroom and a snake almost fell on her. She ran out naked. She was very lucky.

“Snakes are just everywhere as you see this hostel, even in the portals offices, snakes have taken over, we are just confused. They will not give us light to see or read despite the fact that some of us are writing examination”

“We are begging the school management to come to our aid and fumigate everywhere so we can be peaceful. Although management sent some persons to come and cut the grasses but look at it now, they don’t even look like grasses that were weeded. Not only the hostel, but they should also cut the grasses in the learning areas like Area 1, 2 and 3, ” he said.

Meanwhile, a quick check at the polytechnic premises from Area 1 to 3 shows that the institution needs special attention.

Reacting on the issue, the institution Public Relations Officer, Mustapha Osahiobugie, however, denied the narrative. He said the school hostel is placed on priority on the scale of preference as it concerns the students.

“Whether there is BEDC power or not, we have two giant generator set aside for students alone so that they can have adequate power supply. I’m happy you are an ex-student of the school, our hostel building is two storeys. We do spot check every the weeks and non of our ceilings is compromise, the roofs are ‘parafect’ well covered, how a snake we now fall from the ceiling, i don’t understand. So that is not correct maybe the students that told you do not reside in the Hostel”

“On the environment as it relates sanity, the horticulture staff are fully in charge but i will inform them right away to go and check the sports complex and every area concerned,” he added”
