Gimba Kakanda, a Muslim twitter user shares poem they were made to recite during primary school

He called it 'dangerous' because according to him, students were being radicalized without knowing it.
Many other twitter Muslims user who saw the song were surprised as they just sang it without knowing it'd lyrical content.

One of those that retweet even said its the anthem of popular Muslim organisation, MSS.

The song goes thus:

Mr Kolawole Viyon has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for loeing about his marital status while applying for UK Visa in Nigeria, by an Ikeja Special offences court.

The man was dragged to court following a petition received from British High Commission to ICPC


At the resumed hearing of the case yesterday, the ICPC through its counsel, Gogodoye West, told the court that the defendant and his accomplice, Olaronke Akerele, had committed the offence on December 13th 2016.

West said officials of the British High Commission in 2016 handed over Viyon and his accomplice, now at large, to the ICPC, for giving false information in their visa application forms.
''In his extrajudicial statement volunteered under caution before Mrs. Nkem Ezenwa, an investigating officer with the ICPC, he made a false statement that Olaronke Akerele is his third and legally married wife. Viyon informed Ezenwa and Mr. Kenneth Agba, another investigating officer of the ICPC, that the marriage ceremony between him and Akerele was conducted by an Imam under Islamic law. The defendant said the marriage was evidenced by a certificate with number JUN/LB/0000064 which is dated January 9, 2016 and issued by the Jama-at-ul-Islamiyya of Nigeria. Viyon also lied that he had signed the marriage certificate and that the ceremony was conducted at No 108 Tokunboh St., Lagos Island, Lagos.

Viyon claimed he was married but investigations by ICPC however showed that Viyon and Akerele were never married and that the marriage certificate issued by the Jama-at-ul-Islamiyya of Nigeria to that effect was fake.

When the charges were read to him, Viyon pleaded guilty.
Delivering judgement, Justice Mojisola Dada, said the accused person was guilty as charged. The presiding judge however aksed the accused to pay N.3m fine in lure of the jail term, adding that the fine must be paid within 24 hours after the judgement was delivered.

A 41 year old man, Raymond Udiale, a Nigerian born Microsoft engineer has been reportedly arrested in Florida. He was said to have been working with a UK citizen who would distribute and infect people with Reveton ransomware while Udiale would collect paymentand send them to the English man.

Ransomware is malicious software that locks you out of your computer or your data, and demands money to let you back in. Reveton pretends to be a warning from your country’s national police service, locks you out of your PC, and threatens criminal proceedings within 48 hours – usually for unspecified copyright offences and made victims to pay $200.

The Microsoft engineer allegedly obtained prepaid debit cards and, using the online alias of Mike Roland, would use an unnamed messaging program to send K!NG the account numbers for the prepaid cards.


He would later convert these funds into the Liberty Reserve digital currency and send the proceeds to his UK partner, keeping 30% of the funds, part of his cut.

If found guilty on all charges, he risks a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $500,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Uadiale has been set free on a $100,000 bond.

Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked the FG to withdraw from circulation, the N100 notes printed during the administration of former Pres. Jonathan.



In a statement by Ishaq Akintola, its director, the group alleged that the N100 notes of Jonathan government were inferior and had no Arabic Ajami inscriptions.

Akintola claimed that the removal of the inscription was a form of “ethnic cleansing” aimed at discouraging the learning and use of Arabic language in Nigeria.

Ajami refers to Arabic alphabets used for writing African languages, especially those of Hausa and Swahili. It is considered an Arabic-derived African writing system.


Since African languages involve phonetic sounds and systems different from the Arabic language, there have often been adaptations of the Arabic script to transcribe them.

MURIC wondered why Ajami was removed from some notes with the assumption of office by a Christian president. “It was not the first time this would happen. .

Arabic inscriptions which have always been on Nigerian currency since independence were unceremoniously removed in 2005 from N5, N10, N20 and N50 denominations during the reign of Olusegun Obasanjo,” the statement read.

“But Nigerians need to know that this move was calculated to hurt the Muslim population and may end up as a disservice to the nation. .
.
The average northerner cannot read any other script except in Arabic Ajami and anyone who wants to communicate with him effectively must use the Ajami, not even writings in Hausa language can help in this matter.

Millions of northerners have therefore been marginalised by removing the Arabic Ajami. Currencies worldwide are designed to suit each nation’s culture and history. Incidentally, Nigeria is a multireligious entity.

In this case, therefore, our cultural and religious homogeneity should be the criteria, particularly when designing our banknotes, our stamps, etc. We are all taxpayers and to that extent we all deserve representation.”

The Lagos state police command today paraded a primary school dropout, Abdulrahman Mohammed, who has practiced as a medical doctor for four years in the state.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state police commissioner, CP Edgal Imohimi, said Mohammed operated a clinic at Idi-Araba area in Mushin, where he administered intravenous injections to patients and also collected blood and urine samples for diagnosis.

“Detectives from the Area D Command, Mushin, arrested one Abdulrahman Mohammed, a native of Ran Village in Gamboru Ngala local government area of Borno State for operating as a medical doctor at 3, Bamishile Street, Idi -Araba, whereas his education stopped at primary school level.

Further investigation into the activities of Abdulrahman Mohammed, who has been impersonating as a medical doctor for the past four years revealed that he had been administrating intravenous injections, conducting medical test on his patients and taking urine and blood samples from his patients. He is cooperating with the police and we are working with him to ensure all unregistered drug stores are clamped down.” he said


However, Mohammed has denied practising as a medical doctor. According to him, he only operates a chemist where he sells drugs to people living in his area.

“I was a hawker. I was hawking drugs before I decided to open a pharmacy. I did not finish my primary school and I was not taught to sell the drugs. My pharmacy was not licensed. I do not treat people. I do not collect blood or urine samples. I only sell the kits and people come to buy it. For the thermometer, people used to come and check their temperature and other things by themselves.

If someone comes and complained of headache and fever, I give them Panadol or Boscopan and blood tonic.” he said.

"Another lovely 13th of April, HBD 2 me. I am grateful to the big lion of my little but great kingdom.
Recently, l had a close shave with death. I love travelling to any part of the continent the plane can take me. This guilty pleasure of mine took a hard toll on my life.
I travelled to L.A. for 3 days, got back hopped into the next flight to Dubai, spent some days in Dubai and then off to the UK.
2 days after l arrived the UK l passed out in the loo while doing no 1. I was revived. I went to the bathroom to have my bath, l passed out again and this time around my friend insisted on calling the ambulance before the conversation was over we heard the ambulance siren blasting in the neighbourhood. I was asked if l can walk to the ambulance?
I said l can but before l could take 2 steps l passed out again but this time when l was revived l found myself strapped to the stretcher with all kinds of wires on my body and the nurses struggling to keep me alive and at the same time chatting with me.
All this while l thought of my daughter and l wanted to speak with @kateimafidon@realcolours82@tybello @sylmoe@africanprince007 I just wanted to plead with them to take care of my daughter because l know they can contribute money amongst themselves, and send her to school. They were trusted; tried and reliable friends.
The ambulance arrived The Queen Elizabeth hospital near Lewisham.
I was so weak and struggled to stay alive but then l made this my prayer point 'I shall not die but live to declare the powerful work of God' l asked the cute and handsome Dr giving me injections on my belly if l was going to make it?
I was admitted on the 12th August and discharged 19th August. The hospital bill cama and thst of my 6 months injection on my belly was quiet alarming but l was grateful l survived it.
I had deep vein thrombosis and the blood clotted in my lungs.
I survived it because l was told by some close friends who re Dr's that if it happened in Naija that l will not survive it. And this death scare slowed my frequent trips.
And that's why lam so grateful 4 another birthday and for every day."

A 27-year-old Russian woman has died after being embalmed alive due to a horrific medical blunder.
Medics put Ekaterina Fedyaeva on a formalin drip after routine surgery in her home city of Ulyanovsk instead of connecting her to a saline one.
Formalin is a colourless solution of formaldehyde is later which is infused into the veins of the dead to prevent decomposition.

Ekaterina suffered excruciating pains and convulsions for two days before falling into a coma. She was moved to a top hospital in Moscow and briefly awoke from the coma but doctors were not able to save her and she died of multiple organ failure.

Her mother Galina Baryshnikova said the formalin had eroded Ekaterina’s body from the inside.
She said medical staff knew they had infused something wrong but failed to take the urgent steps necessary to save her daughter.
Instead they told her “to go home, cook chicken soup and stop worrying.” Ekaterina was her only child.

The Voice is over for another year with 18-year-old Ruti Olajugbagbe crowned the 2018 champion.

Ruti battled her way through the semi-finals to make it to the grand final and with the support of her coach Tom Jones she was crowned the winner.

She is a student and part-time carer from South-end-on-Sea. Ruti lives with her mum, dad and little brother Femi and currently attends the Youth Creation Performing Arts School in Stanford-le-Hope.

She was crowned the winner on April 7 after seeing off the challenge of Donel Mangena on the final night.

The teenager, who was on Tom Jones’s team, sang her way to victory, beating Donel Mangena, Belle Voci and Lauren Bannon.

After performing one song and a duet with their coach, the vote was frozen and Belle Voci and Lauren were eliminated after receiving the lowest number of votes.

It was then down to Ruti and Donel to go head-to-head, with them both performing one more song – and Donel’s grandma even reprised her performance from the Blind Auditions by joining her grandson on stage.

But ultimately it was Ruti who won, and now her rendition of Dreams by The Cranberries will be released as her debut single on Polydor Records.
