Your skin is your largest organ and plays a vital role in detecting hot and cold, regulating your body temperature and protecting your muscles, bones and internal organs from outside infection and disease. But that’s just for starters. There is so much more to your skin than you might think. Here are some of the most interesting facts about your skin: The average person’s skin covers an area of 2 square meters. Skin accounts for about 15% of your body weight. The average adult has approximately 21 square feet of skin, which weighs 9 lbs and contains more than 11 miles of blood vessels. The average person has about 300 million skin cells. A single square inch of skin has about 19 million cells and up to 300 sweat glands. Your skin is its thickest on your feet (1.4mm) and thinnest on your eyelids (0.2mm). The skin renews itself every 28 days. Your skin constantly sheds dead cells, about 30,000 to 40,000 cells every minute! That’s nearly 9 lbs. per year! Some sources estimate that more than half of the dust in your home is actually dead skin. Dead skin comprises about a billion tons of dust in the earth’s atmosphere. Your skin is home to more than 1,000 species of bacteria. Skin that is severely damaged may try to heal itself by forming scar tissue, which is different from normal skin tissue because it lacks hair and sweat glands. Skin can form additional thickness and toughness — a callus — if exposed to repeated friction or pressure. Some of the nerves in your skin are connected to muscles instead of the brain, sending signals (through the spinal cord) to react more quickly to heat, pain, etc. Your skin has at least five different types of receptors that respond to pain and touch. Changes in your skin can sometimes signal changes in your overall health. These fun facts are just some of the thousands of important aspects of your skin and its health. Forefront Dermatology’s skin care experts have all of the information you need, including how to best care for the health and beauty of your skin, and the advanced expertise and experience to help you protect it throughout your lifetime. Right time to wear makeup: Even if you’re a no-fuss, makeup-free kind of gal, one of the few skin care productsyou simply shouldn’t skip out on using would have to be moisturizer. After all, there’s just something so beautiful and glow-y about the way moisturized skin looks. Of course, how and when you moisturize is just as important as what moisturizer you use on your face and body. Keep reading to learn the best times to use moisturizer—and how to apply it—for your most gorgeous-looking complexion yet. It’s time to moisturize your skin like a pro! 1. USE MOISTURIZER…RIGHT AFTER YOU WASH YOUR FACE According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the best time to apply moisturizer is when your skin is still damp, as this can help lock in hydration. So, use your moisturizer before your skin has dried post-cleansing. (That means no more reaching for a towel as soon as you rinse off your facial cleanser!) Try the L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Normal/Oily Skin, L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Normal/Dry Skin, or L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Extra Dry Skin. 2. USE MOISTURIZER…IN THE MORNING Set your skin up for success by moisturizing before heading out for the day. Moisturizing should be the last step in your skin care routine before you move onto makeup, so don’t forget to use one before applying your foundation. Look for a moisturizer that’s formulated with broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher, like the L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Bright Reveal Brightening Day Lotion SPF 30, and apply as directed. (Remember to take other sun protection measures as well, including limiting your amount of time in the sun, seeking shade, and covering up exposed areas when you’re outside). Toss the bottle in your bag so that you can reapply every two hours or immediately after swimming or sweating. 3. USE MOISTURIZER…BEFORE BED Put your hard-earned beauty sleep to good use by applying a super-hydrating moisturizer before your head hits the pillow. Think outside the box by reaching for an overnight face mask, like the L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Triple Power™ Intensive Overnight Face Mask. This luxurious, hydrating leave-on creamy mask forms a virtual protective mask to cradle skin. Immediately, skin feels hydrated and looks more radiant. Apply this overnight face mask to cleansed skin before bed, smoothing it over your face, neck, and jawline until absorbed. Leave it on overnight, then go about your morning skin care routine when you wake up. THE SECRET OF BEAUTY: A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:/ Its loveliness increases; it will never/ Pass into nothingness,” wrote John Keats in Endymion. Unfortunately for the beautiful, their beauty will eventually fade into nothingness with the passing of time. Nor, say scientists, is there such a thing as beauty in the eye of the beholder. Rather, men and women have remarkably similar views worldwide about what constitutes human beauty, and it is tightly linked to health, youth and, as new research shows, skin condition. The secret of beauty and attractiveness has been a quest of humans for as long as we have been civilized. Many women (and some "metrosexual" men) spend up to one-third of their income on looking good. Why? Besides being popular, beautiful people get special attention from teachers, the legal system and employers. Good-looking people tend to make more money than their plain-Jane counterparts, according to a study by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Researchers found that beautiful people tend to earn 5 percent more an hour than their less comely colleagues. If that weren't enough, the Fed also discovered a "plainness penalty," punishing below-average-looks with earnings of 9 percent less an hour. While we instinctively know what appeals to our own sense of beauty -- we know it when we see it -- defining what determines attractiveness is not always easy. In frustration, we often give up and claim that "beauty is in they eye of the beholder." But is beauty really a personal phenomenon? Recent studies have shown that the secret of beauty may at last be understood. It seems that attractiveness may be hard wired in our brains. Experiments designed to measure attractiveness usually involve showing a series of images of human faces and asking subjects to rate their visual appeal. Surprisingly, people from a variety of different ages, races and cultures agree on what is and isn't beautiful. Babies as young as 3 months can identify and prefer faces that most adults would deem beautiful. Europeans can pick out the same beautiful Japanese faces as Japanese subjects; Japanese can agree on which European faces another Europeans will view as beautiful. In fact, humans can even agree on the attractiveness of monkey faces, thus ruling out most unique racial, cultural and even species influences. So what's going on? Facial recognition is a complex process. Only recently, with the need to spot criminals and terrorists, computer facial recognition programs have been developed to analyze the subtle variations of such things as the space between our eyes, the size of our noses and the proportions of our facial features. Scientists have discovered certain mathematical facial proportions that identify beautiful people. But is there more to beauty than the mere arrangement of eyes, noses and chins? Our day-to-day life certainly lacks the whimsical, romantic quality of, say, a black-and-white movie or a commercial for a diamond store, but who doesn’t want to feel outrageously (and maybe even uncharacteristically) sexy from time to time? You don’t necessarily need to spend a ton of money or undergo a total movie star makeover to work a little bit of that magic into your life. These 20 simple, sexy beauty tips will have you well on your way to stunning them like you were meant to in no time at all. 1. Trade in your bright red lipstick for something subtle and a little shiny. Red lips can be alluring, but they’re high-maintenance, and we all know what happens when lipstick comes in contact with, well, anything. Instead, try a rosy, “your lips but better” balm or lipstick with a creamy natural finish. 2. Blend a shimmery lotion or highlighter into your décolletage. The word is shimmery rather than sparkly, which can read as tacky or cheap—the point is to draw the eye to that part of the body, not to make it look like a disco ball. You can even use a few drops of oil to add supple shine. 3. Focus your mascara application on the outer lashes. This lends a gorgeous wide-open, doe-eyed effect that makes eyes pop without fussy false lash application. 4. Even the most fine, flat hair can get some va-va-voom with this technique: Rub a dime-sized amount of a texturizing cream in between your palms and scrunch throughout the lengths of hair, then massage the remainder into your roots. Take your hand and brush hair back away from your forehead and flip your part in the opposite direction of where you normally wear it. If you’re feeling especially ambitious, you can hit it with the blowdryer for longer-lasting volume. 5. Dab highlighter into your Cupid’s bow. Just a pinhead-sized dab of a liquid highlighter blended into the small divot above your upper lip will draw attention to your lips, making them look larger and more defined with little effort. 6. Choose a subtle smoky eye. Like red lipstick, an over-the-top Kardashian-style smoky eye gives off a high maintenance vibe, but there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of depth and dimension. Try smudging a black or dark brown eye pencil into your lash line and blending well for smoldering definition without tons of makeup. 7. Spritz fragrance on the nape of your neck—and only the nape of your neck. It’s easy for perfume to become overwhelming, so employ the tactic of holding the bottle about eight to 10 inches from your skin and spraying just once. Your skin’s warmth will diffuse the fragrance, but the intimate area keeps it subtle, not in-your-face. Read More https://elitebeautytips..com/2018/06/simple-make-up-tips-to-make-you-look.html#more |
Most girls find it so stressful trying to look pretty for their boyfriends once they start a new relationship and panic at the thought of choosing the perfect outfit for a date. Luckily, YouQueen is here to help. Follow our advice and let us help you on the way to looking your best for that special guy in your life. Skincare Let’s get down to basics. Skincare is very important if you want to look good for your boyfriend. Idealistically, you want to make sure that your skin is clear and spot-free, and overall has a healthy, smooth glow. Achieving this, however, isn’t always as easy as it sounds. You will need to establish a skincare routine that centers around three words: Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize. To get flawless skin, you want to cleanse, tone and moisturize as soon as you wake up in the morning and as you are taking your makeup off at night. Do a little research and make sure you get the best products to suit your skin-type, be it sensitive, oily, dry or combination. The most important thing to do is to avoid sleeping in your makeup at night so you do not clog your pores. Another great secret is to buy a moisturizer with an SPF, so you protect your skin from the effects of sun damage all year round. Teeth Another secret on how to look pretty for your boyfriend is to invest in a whitening toothpaste so that you have clean pearly white teeth and a sexy smile. Paired with a great lip-gloss or lipstick and you have that irresistible, ready-to-be-kissed look that your boyfriend will not be able to resist. Perfume Young beautiful brunette woman sitting against mirror and applying perfume Don’t forget to wear perfume if you want to be extra pretty for your boyfriend. "Who cares about pretty? I'm going for noticeable." Says Veronica Roth, Divergent Let's just get down to it, then, shall we? Looking pretty or beautiful is a matter of perception. If you're confident about it in your mind, it will show in the way you behave, lending an instant radiance to your personality. But if outward beauty is what you're aiming for―and that's important too―there are a few concrete steps you need to take. We're listing the steps right here. 1) Hygiene is above all else. A clean, fresh-smelling person is instantly attractive―there are no two ways about it. Therefore, make it a point to shower everyday, cleanse yourself all over, and shampoo your hair regularly. Not only will this make you feel fresh, it will also keep your skin and hair healthy and clean. Similarly, follow a rigorous dental hygiene routine; brush your teeth twice a day because bad breath is the yuckiest thing in the world. Ensure that your nails aren't broken or chipped―unkempt hands and fingernails can be very unattractive, no matter how "pretty" your face is. The same applies to your feet―keep your toenails clipped, or file them in a decent shape. Remember to regularly slough off the dead skin from your feet to keep them soft and pretty. 2) 'Pretty' doesn't happen overnight. You have to keep working hard towards looking pretty, as ignoring the basic needs of your body won't reap any benefits. So, make it a point to Read More....https://elitebeautytips..com/2018/06/how-to-look-pretty-without-make-up.html#more |

I have found lately that the color of my lips has started to fade a little. I always love seeing pretty pink lips — they make you look healthy and glowing. I have a tendency to bite on my lips to make the color come out more. I don’t like to wear lipstick, so this seemed like the best practice for me — but it only lasts for a short period of time and then it goes. I came across these two little tricks that you can do on a regular basis to make your lip color come out more and I have noticed the difference. One is to rub lemon juice onto your lips before bedtime to bring out their natural color. After you have applied the lemon juice wait for them to dry and then moisturize them. Do this just once a week as lemon juice can dry your lips out. https://elitebeautytips..com/2018/06/2-natural-ways-to-tint-your-lips.html |
1. Essential Oils There is nothing more natural than essential oils. The antibacterial oils such as rosemary, lavender, thyme, lemongrass, lemon, tea tree and geranium, when mixed together, are the most healthier options that not only smell better but are also long lasting. Adding few drops of coconut oil works as a natural sunscreen. Oil tend to get soaked deeper into the skin, so even if you take bath, there will be a still subtle whiff of scents the next day. Apply the mixture of essential oils on your skin before leaving the house and be ready to get compliments for smelling so fresh all day long. They provide you long lasting natural fragrance and since they are not as expensive as traditional perfumes, they will save you tonnes of money. 2. Scented Herbs What do you think about herbs and actual flowers? You may think they look better in the vase or in the flower bed but think again. Putting dry jasmine flowers, lavender flowers and scented herbs in your pockets will keep your hands smell amazing whole day. You can use the spritz of neroli, rose water and lavender extract on your hair and skin to feel refreshing leaving behind the fragrance where you go. 3. Scented Smoke In some middle eastern countries, women carry scented smoke in their hair. The sands wood sticks, sage etc. are some of the best options that can be used as incense. The scents from home often linger on your clothes and skin for some time. 4. Skin Scrub Scrubbing your skin on regular basis helps soften the skin because dehydrated skin lacks moisture and its ability to soak any oil. An effective scrub will keep your skin moist — and allow the skin to feel fresh and fragrant. Invest into a good scrub for effective result.
