If you have knowledge of advance fiscal and Monetary ECONOMICS, you will understand that the hardship in Nigeria is just starting.
No sane country will float their currency as a national policy and remove subsidy in a sector like ENERGY at the same.

These two policies at the same time is like trying to conserve OXYGEN by holding someone’s noise tight hoping that the person can also breath through the anus.

On the issue of subsidy removal, Tinubu acted like a promiscuous Nigerian male undergraduate who simply rushed out to buy CONDOM and changed his bedsheets simply because someone told him that he sighted his girl friend in their neighborhood. No plan of the said girl friend's visiting initially.
No consideration of whether the girl is in that neighborhood just to buy sanitary pads. Acting before planning at the extreme.

With time tissue paper may be sold at N12,000 per unit. Ph. Ph.D. or professorship can not guarantee the quality of economic advice or policy implementation.

Funny enough I am seeing the hand of God in this
This is because BAT is just being exposed and disgraced not just as being grossly incompetent, but for being hypocritical because same subsidy he rallied against GEJ,claimed does not exist, but is not only going behind the back to pay, after having stupidly floated the ₦ at the same time, but is now paying at least double what other presidents ever paid.
Who says God doesn't exist indeed![/quote]

FG And State Governors Agreed To Creat State Police To Combat Insecurity.

Nigeria’s Federal Government and the 36 states of the Federation have agreed on the need to create state police as a means of beefing up security across the country.

This was the highlight of the meeting held on Thursday between President Bola Tinubu and the 36 State governors at the State House, Abuja.

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, Information and National Orientation Minister, Idris Mohammed, said

security improvements nationwide were acknowledged, with a focus on enhancing forest rangers’ numerical strength and exploring the possibility of State Police.

He said further discussion will be held on the issue between government at the centre and the states before sending a bill to that effect to the National Assembly for necessary constitutional amendment.

On food crisis, the Minister, who spoke in the company of Governors of Plateau, Kaduna and Delta states, disclosed that the National Security Adviser, Director General of State Services, and Inspector General of Police have been directed to collaborate with state governors in addressing hoarding concerns, particularly in the wake of soaring commodity prices.

The meeting, Mohammed further said, also emphasized the need for enhanced investments in agriculture to combat food shortages, declaring a halt to food importation to broaden Nigeria’s self-sufficiency and potential as a net exporter.

Sources who spoke to Vanguard said the outspoken politician slumped when a penalty kick was awarded against Nigeria during the match, which gave the South Africans an equaliser.
He was said to have suffered a heart attack and was confirmed dead at a hospital he was rushed to.

2. Ayuba Abdullahi.
The Deputy Bursar of Kwara State University, also died while watching the match.
Sources close to the deceased, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Abdullahi went to a viewing centre in the Sango area before he started feeling unease.
One of the sources said, “The deputy bursar watched the Nigeria/South Africa match from the beginning till the end of the extra time, and continued till it was time for penalty kicks.

“He complained that he was feeling dizzy, so he said he needed to go back home and rest, not knowing that his BP had gone up.

Nwoye was on top of the moon, shouting at the top of his voice when Nigerian striker, Victor Osihmen, scored the second goal which was later cancelled by the Video Assistant Referee, VAR.

“That was when other people at the viewing centre rushed to him and took him to one of the private hospitals in Olomoore where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead,” she said.

Yul Edochie Holds First Online Service, Narrates How He Was Called Into Ministry.

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, who recently launched his online ministry, conducted the inaugural church service on his YouTube channel, True Salvation Ministry.

During the virtual gathering held on Sunday, Yul delved into his spiritual journey, sharing his divine calling and the moment he felt God’s direct guidance. Reflecting on instances where others recognized his potential for ministry, he revealed that a life-altering car accident on the Ore road was the turning point that led him to fully embrace his calling.

Following a narrow escape from a fatal outcome, Yul described a transformative experience where a compelling voice urged him to dedicate his life to serving God and humanity. This revelation marked the beginning of his “second life,” distinct from his previous pursuits.

Despite initially aiming for a physical church with a sizable congregation, Yul disclosed that God intervened, guiding him to start humbly and utilise the resources at his disposal.

Judy Austin congratulates Yul Edochie as he launches online ministry, It's time to answer God's call- Yul Edochie launches online ministry.

He said in part, “As far back as 2012, 2013, I’ll meet a couple of men of God, pastors and they will always tell me that you are destined to be a minister of God, you can’t run away from it, you are going to be a minister.

“As time went by I started to hear the voice myself like anywhere I am, most of the time when I’m in an enclosed place, just me, I’ll be hearing that voice telling me you are going to work for God.”

Yul Edochie announced last story week the launch of his Christian programme, True Salvation Ministry, on YouTube, where he will deliver sermons.

It is crystal clear that northerner elites hate the current administration.

From the electoral votes in 2023, Atiku won most of the core northerner states (NE and NW) yet Tinubu made allies of the North.

Today, those allies are scheming on bringing power back to the North and there is nothing Tinubu's administraton will do please them.

Started off with the issue of Niger - They threatened and Tinubu had to calm down..

With the issue of probing past administration - They threatened, again Tinubu calmed down

The on-going issue between Christians and Muslims in middle belt rages on, Tinubu tried to act but again, the North threatened, Tinubu looked past.

Islamic organisations, myetti and other core northern organisations are on offensive blasting the administration in mosques and towns, Tinubu had to quickly call a meeting but it rages on..

Infact Myetti president was arrested but almighty DSS quickly denied it when North again threatens..

Meanwhile, in the name of allies, Tinubu has released past Efcc boss and even Abba Kyari just to please his ally and has continued to hold Nnamdi kanu to avoid outcry from same ally.

Today, the part relocation of FAAN and CBN have provoked the core North again and guess what, Tinubu will fold again.

In all this, Tinubu has neglected the south. He doesn't want to learn from OBJ who united the south, he will learn the hard.

This administraton is not one year yet time is coming when the North will stone any presidential convoy they see in the North.

Like GEJ, Tinubu will once again prove that when South are not together, the North will always win.

Politics / You Don't Punish A Man Unjustly - Buhari Defends Emefiele. by Gjrich(m): 3:30pm On Jan 17
You Don't Punish A Man Unjustly - Buhari Defends Emefiele.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has told Nigerians why he refused to act on speculation about the presidential ambition of Godwin Emefiele, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“I met Enefiele in office when I came and unless there were firm evidence against him, it would be unfair and an act of injustice to remove him, acting on hearsay. When he was linked with the campaign for the 2023 presidency, I did not ask him, because he told nobody he was getting involved. If you punish a man unjustly, it could dog his footsteps throughout life, so if you would punish, you must have evidence and you should know that yourself wouldn’t be there forever. You would leave one day”, he said.

Buhari made these known in a memoir titled “Working With Buhari: Reflections Of A Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023)”, written by Femi Adesina, former Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity.

Launched in Abuja, on Tuesday, the book also put up the former President’s defence of the Naira redesign policy, saying it helped the country achieve a clean general election in 2023.

Buhari maintained that those who had a problem with the policy were individuals, who had too much money.

“The scarcity of money was not deliberately done to punish Nigerians. Democracy allows people to express their will and we did not attempt to control them. People understood the implications of their choices and we did not force them.

“My state, Katsina, showed the beauty of the whole system. In the Presidential poll, APC lost, but they came back to win the governorship. Maybe they took things for granted earlier because it was my state and they thought they would win easily. People do not like being taken for granted.

” I met Enefiele in office when I came and unless there were firm evidence against him, it would be unfair and an act of injustice to remove him, acting on hearsay.

“If you punish a man unjustly, it could dog his footsteps throughout life, so if you would punish, you must have evidence and you should know that yourself wouldn’t be there forever. You would leave one day.

“I’m very conscious about the morale of people who serve with me. I also expect whoever succeeds me to be fair to me. I have family and friends, who will feel it. I’m very conscious of fairness.

“When he was linked with the campaign for the 2023 presidency, I did not ask him, because he told nobody he was getting involved. Otherwise, I would have removed him and told the nation why.

“There is no denying that the naira redesign policy gave us cleaner elections. It was people who had too much money that had problems with it.

“When it was said that the new notes were not available, over N260 million was found with one bank chairman. Did I take on the Supreme Court on the issue? No, I could not have.

“Some APC Governors went to court. I refuse to judge people by my own standards, I am not materialistic, but it would be too much to expect all Nigerians to be the same way. It is not fair to condemn anybody, but it is up to them and their conscience. I want to continue to conduct myself with a clear conscience so that when I go to bed, I sleep off immediately”, Buhari said in the 12th chapter of the book.

Politics / “Tinubu Met Empty Treasury, He Is Borrowing To Sustain Nigeria”–Ex-Gov,Osoba by Gjrich(m): 8:48am On Jan 03
Former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration met an empty treasury upon assuming office.

According to Osoba, the situation compelled the Tinubu-led administration to embark on a borrowing spree as a stopgap measure.

Osoba made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television, emphasizing the efforts made by Tinubu’s government to navigate the prevailing economic hardships in the country.

He assured Nigerians that while borrowing became necessary in the interim, the administration would review and adjust its strategies after the initial phase.

“When the treasury was empty and the last administration was borrowing to pay salaries, the whole place was empty. What else can you do other than in the meantime, borrowing to fill the gap?

“That does not mean that the culture of borrowing will go on forever. You met an empty treasury. There was nowhere to turn other than to still engage in a bit of borrowing. After the first year in office, the whole thing will be reviewed and we will see.

“Talking of borrowing, when your pocket is empty, you have to go to your bank to shore you up for some time. It depends on how you manage that situation.

“I have explained to you that we are lucky, but by June 1, the whole system was set up to totally collapse. I’m telling you if he (Tinubu) didn’t go the way the government had to go (things would have collapsed),” Osoba stated.

Despite acknowledging the current hardship, Osoba conveyed optimism for 2024, expecting improvements in the country’s economic conditions under Tinubu’s leadership.

Regarding the recent increase in the 2024 budget, Osoba asserted that the key lay in its practical implementation, highlighting the need for reasonable utilization of allocated funds.

Responding to inquiries about Tinubu’s absence from Plateau State amidst security crises, Osoba emphasized the president’s commitment to addressing the root causes rather than token appearances.

Osoba defended Tinubu’s policy decisions, acknowledging their impact on the rich and the poor and attributing them to the imperative of fostering economic growth.

He criticized the wasteful spending and extravagance among state governments, urging sub-national entities to curb excesses and enhance fiscal responsibility to alleviate financial strains.

Politics / Labour Party Will Be Nigeria’s Opposition Party In 2024 – Peter Obi. by Gjrich(m): 12:24pm On Jan 02
Labour Party Will Be Nigeria’s Opposition Party In 2024 – Peter Obi.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on Monday said his party will adjust to a new role in 2024 as Nigeria’s main opposition party.

Obi, in his New Year Message, said LP will remain firmly in opposition and keep the All Progressives Congress (APC) on its toes to protect the interest of Nigerians.

The former Governor of Anambra State said, “As Nigeria is the only country we have, deeply endowed but lacking good leadership over the years, we will continue to seek a new Nigeria that we know is possible.”

According to him, a new Nigeria is possible in spite of the numerous yet-to-be-fulfilled aspirations of citizens.

Expressing his heartfelt and warmest greetings to all Nigerians, Obi prayed to God to bless them richly and grant them good heart desires in the new year and beyond.

Obi said: “The events of the past year are now part of our national history. As we trudge on, we remain mindful of the state of our nation and that our best hopes and aspirations remain largely unfulfilled.

“Peace and security continue to elude us with the rising level of bloodletting deeply troubling and sometimes beyond a war situation.

“A situation where hundreds of Nigerians are violently killed in December alone is deeply sad and unacceptable.

“While we pray for the repose of the souls departed, we demand that the Federal Government must do whatever is required to bring the perpetrators to justice and permanently stop a reoccurrence in any part of Nigeria.”

He noted that the nation’s economy needed a turnaround, considering the rising unemployment, inflation, poverty, inequality, and other key socioeconomic variables.

Obi said, “Nigerians are now very aware and convinced that good governance, inclusive development, and accountable leadership expected in a functional democracy continue to elude us.

“But we must be consistent and resolute in our demand for the rule of law, regulatory quality, and government effectiveness for transformative solutions to a litany of our social problems.

“If there is one fundamental threat to our democracy, it is the undermining and weakening of our national institutions and the capture of state affairs and resources by few individuals and private interests.

“This must stop for Nigeria to move forward and function as an inclusive and sustainable society and nation.”

According to him, in a democratic and secular country like ours, there must be full respect for the separation of powers between the three independent arms of government, as well as between the federating units.

He said the National Assembly should devote time and commit itself to the diligent performance of its functions, like the 2024 budget, which required its prudent examination and subsequent patriotic-oriented approval or rejection.

Obi said the nation must work assiduously to avoid drifting to a one-party state or a situation where the Federal Government intervened unduly in the internal affairs of the states, particularly in circumstances where national security is not threatened.

He added, “We in the Labour Party have undertaken in the national interest and in our undying commitment to a New Nigeria that is possible, to remain firmly in opposition and, as such, must remain focused going forward.

“Our collective role in nation-building remains fundamental and obligatory.”

He used the opportunity to thank all Nigerians who supported his campaign during the 2023 elections and voted for his party because of their belief in the quest for a New Nigeria.

Obi said the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections was contested and remained so, on record, “but the Courts of law have spoken; so be it.”

He said, “I wish to thank members of the Labour Party, the Obidient Family, friends, and well-wishers of Nigeria for their loyalty, resilience, tenacity, and commitment to true democracy.

“We will continue ongoing discussions and efforts for the Labour Party to adjust to our new role as Nigeria’s main opposition party.

“We will continue to constructively engage all Nigerians and our friends, who have now realised the vast implications of the road not taken; and the folly of national interest decisions predicated on sentiments and primordial interests.”

Obi said that Nigeria remained a God-given country and that the business of Nigeria was far too important to be left to those involved in transactional politics.

He said, “I am involved in the struggle for a New Nigeria that is possible and works for all and will remain passionately committed to the crusade.

I, therefore, implore you all who strive for a New Nigeria to remain fully engaged, committed and resilient as it is and will be possible.”

Politics / Northern Politicians Suffering Political Embarrassment From Tinubu - Kwankwaso by Gjrich(m): 9:29pm On Dec 12, 2023
Northern Politicians Suffering Political Embarrassment From Tinubu’s- Kwankwaso

The Coalition of Northern Youths Movement Initiative (CNYMI) has alleged a plot to weaken prominent Northern politicians ahead of the 2027 election.
While addressing a press conference in Kaduna, the chairman of the group, Hamza Bala Lawal, who was flanked by its secretary, Ibrahim Muhammad Inuwa, listed northern politicians suffering political embarrassment, including former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, and Senator Abdulazeez Yari, the former Zamfara State Governor who was subsequently rubbished by the government when he tried to become the Senate President of the country.

Lawal called on the judiciary, security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to abide by their oath of allegiance to the people and the Constitution of Nigeria, stressing that any injustice against the northern region will be resisted.

The group also cautioned politicians against being accomplices in the plots to undermine the northerners, insisting they are aware of moves by certain politicians to destabilize the region, especially the commercial city of Kano and Plateau states, respectively.

Lawal said, “Another Northerner who has also been humiliated since coming into being of this government is Senator Ali Ndume, who by right and qualification ought to be the Senate Leader but has since been relegated to be the deputy despite having served in that position in the past in the last 9th Assembly.

“Perhaps, the major casualty in the plot against the North is the former Governor of Kano State, Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who is being harassed on a daily basis to give up the mandate that the people of the state have given to his party in the general election.

“We are however calling on President Tinubu not to do anything that would truncate the peace and tranquility that exist in the country by allowing the will of the people in all electoral contests to prevail at all times.”

The chairman of the group also posited that Nigerians are witnesses to what is going on in the Court of Appeal concerning the governorship poll in Zamfara, Plateau and Kano States, where the opposition parties won the states at the ballot box and the attempt by the Federal Government to snatch these states from the winning political parties.

He added, “What is even more embarrassing is the case of Kano where the Court of Appeal is still finding it hard to defend its verdict on the election which many have come to see as very ignoble and horrible. The fact that the verdict is tainted was further shown when the NNPP tried to secure the certified true copy of the judgment revealed the underhand dealings that must have happened with the document revealing contradictory outcomes.

“While some paragraphs upheld the election of Gov Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP as duly elected. The embarrassment created by the nasty scenario is yet to abate as we speak as the action has further put the judiciary in the negative spot in the minds of right thinking Nigerians who have lost faith in that vital arm of the government.

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun reconciliation of aggrieved members, indicating interest in bringing back the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, to its fold.

PDP woos Peter Obi as it rejects northern candidate for 2027.
The PDP made this known on Monday, December 11, during a press briefing in Lagos state to address the party's internal issues, PDP presidential ticket in 2027 Speaking on behalf of the PDP stalwarts, Bode George maintained that a southern PDP candidate should be given the party's presidential ticket, as that is the only way the All Progressives Congress (APC) could be kicked out, The Guardian reported.

George insisted that the LP does not have the structure to win national elections. Hence, Obi should consider returning to the party. He said: “The Labour Party doesn’t have the root.

The LP was a movement; they don’t have a solid root. LP came out of anger, it doesn’t have the kind of root we have. LP is a wind. Where was Obi? We can still talk to him if he wants to.
