bizzle2: Are you saying the Golf 4 is more rugged than the Golf 5 ?
By Mk2 and Mk3 do you mean Golf 2 and Golf 3 ?
I'll definitely get professional assessment before buying,
My issue with the Golf tho, is road clearance I have a golf 4 and overall I think it's a nice car but am of the opinion that Golf 4 and newer models are not everyday cars considering the nature of our roads. They are excellent cars for traveling on long distance. Yes by mk2 and 3 I meant golf 2 and 3, they are more rugged on our roads and the cost of maintenance isn't much due to the availability of spare parts although they might not have the best interior |

bizzle2: Why do you rate the Golf 4 above the rest As you said you prefer european cars the golf 5 would have been perfect but as this is your first car I suggest you buy a more rugged model like the mk2 or mk3. I mentioned golf 4 because it's an ideal balance of performance and style as I sense you have an eye for good things. I also think you should involve a good mechanic in making your decision as he will be the one to maintain the car afterwards. Cheers |

bizzle2: First Car Choice
Please EPPPP!!!!
This is my first thread in this section, I’m a complete automobile newbie in the middle of making a very critical buying decision. I need the help of the astute members of this section in making the perfect choice of Car Brand , Model and Year that would be best suited for my needs & within my budget .I’ll be spending a sizeable chunk of my savings on this so I need to get it RIGHT the first Time, I ABSOLUTELY do not have the luxury of trial. -Car will be used primarily for intercity commuting -The roads in my locality are bad so I’m thinking in the line of good ground clearance (most likely a small SUV) -Reasonable maintenance cost and fuel economy, pleasurable drive, durability, good handling are of course a necessity.
Here are my own thoughts on some considered options: Golf 5 ( afraid of ground clearance and how it would fare on bad roads) Peugeot 206 ( same as above) BMW 3 or 5 series (afraid of ground clearance and cost of parts/maintenance ; fuel economy not really a concern) RAV 4 2002/2003 ( I generally like European cars, but not sure how durable the japs are and how well they handle) Lexus Rx 300 ( Same as above ) Interested in very sound registered vehicles .Budget is 850k for SUV and 600k for sedan. can adjust depending on condition of vehicle. PLEASE ADVISE !!!! I NO SABI NAFFIN FOR THIS CAR MATTER

Smartforecast: So I happened to stumble upon a journal of Edo state and I saw the achievements of Governor Oshiomhole in contrast to what the perilous pdp government achieved in 8 years, I was astonished... There's a city Centre called ring road, when I saw the BEFORE pictures, I nearly cried for Benin residents, it looked like a den of vultures and wild creatures.
Go through the journal and see how Edo state has been transformed... Seriously if Edo people had voted in pdp I for say dem swear for them.
Person wey do better pass person no dey at all my people.
Congratulations Governor Oshiomhole, Congratulations Obaseki...
I hope to visit Benin on your swearing in.

Huston1: Please Nairalanders I need help because I am loosing my patience. I have been married to my wife for 6years and I have never had dinner before 9PM. Sometimes m served dinner past 11pm. My wife doesn't have any job yet. I wake early every day because I have to bath and dress our two kids up in the morning while she makes their breakfast and prepare something for the lunch boxes. I drop the kids at school and go to work from there. I return home before 6pm and dinner is never ready. I have complained and complained and she makes adjustments for two days each time I complain. I got angry at a point and told her I will not eat her food after 7pm. That week, she acted on my instruction and I really ate at 7pm or just before 7:30pm. That is the only week I enjoyed dinner early. I have even developed pot belle due to eating late. I got home early today and she started picking vegetables to make soup at about 3:30pm. This is 8pm and I still haven't eaten. I am so angry. I really see her busy working in kitchen but I don't know why it takes so long for the food to be ready. Not that she attends to the kids. I assist the kids in their homework and prepare them for bed. I'm very angry. Please advise. Bros I will advice you to buy groceries during th weekend and cook the meal yourself. If you can cook that is |

A change is not change until there is a change. The pain of change we are experiencing today is a result of our fear to change in yesteryear. Thus, the present pain can not be compare to the future glory ahead of this country. Well said |
Politics › Re: Buhari And Osinbajo, The Moses And Aaron Of Our Time by glingev(m): 1:35pm On Sep 05, 2016 |
Toks2008: President Buhari like the moses in the Bible was sent packing from the position of authority some years back but made a come back to be the leader.
This time around he did not come back with the background he was known for as a military man but as a civilian just like moses who was known to be part of pharaoh's household came back as an unassuming fellow to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the promise land.
I don't know what anyone else believes but I strongly believe that President Buhari is the moses of our time that will lead us out of our Egypt experience, take us through the wilderness experience but may likely not enter the promise land with us.
Now let's see the allegory;
In the life of every human or nation, there is always the Egypt experience, the wilderness experience before the promise land experience.
During the Egypt experience, the situation may seem OK but it is a disguised bondage but if you decide to leave your Egypt experience, you must be ready for a very tough wilderness experience that will make you wish you go back to Egypt.
The wilderness experience is a must for anyone or any nation desiring a promise land and those who prefer to create a comfort zone in their Egypt experience will never see the promise land.
The Buhari and Osinbanjo led government are like the Moses and Aaron of our time and the years we thought were OK in the Egypt experience only seem to be because we were in great bondage to leaders who looted our treasury with impunity while patting our heads with a ticking time bomb.
The years we thought we were OK in our Egypt experience were the years our leaders fed fat on the abundance inflow of good profits from our crude oil while throwing crumbs to the floor for us to feed on.
Like the Israelites who were already frustrated with their condition and needed a quick fix, their wilderness experience was tough and very discouraging which made them doubt the competence of Moses and Aaron and in like manner,Nigerians have gone through years of frustration and in need of a quick fix but unfortunately undergoing very very tough times which is a wilderness experience for us and this has made most Nigerians doubt the competence of President Buhari and vice president Osinbanjo.
The Israelites said to Moses and Aaron, "If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death." Exodus 16:3
Yes like Moses and Aaron who made series of mistakes, it is expected for our leaders to make mistakes too but just as some Israelites persevered, prayed and supported Moses and Aaron which saw them to the promise land, let us pray and believe in the course of this seemingly "clueless" government and I'm positive that we shall get to the promise land.
Lastly, we must understand that Moses and Aaron started the journey with Israelites to the promise land but not even one of their generations who left Egypt entered the promise land but it was Joshua who eventually led the younger Israelites into it so in like manner, it just might be a Joshua who is yet unknown that will lead us to the promise land but the journey has begun and together we can channel a new course for the coming generation into a new Nigeria that will be the envy of the whole world.
Let us blame and curse less but be hopeful and let us support this government by offering viable advice and raising our voices in unity to ask questions if we are not OK with any government policy and together we will create a greater and better Nigeria for the generations to come because the journey from Egypt to the promise land will not happen overnight but we will surely get there.
God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria. God bless you sir |
