Hi guys, I’m so broke at the moment.
I have 2004 Toyota Corolla, all papers intact, based in delta, I’ve only visited lagos once.

Is it worth it to venture into this business?
As a newbie how much can I be earning daily? And what possible challenges I will face, things to avoid in Lagos, where o avoid, pls I need advice
Hmmmm.
God no go shame us.
You might find if very difficult to hustle in Lagos, being that you have only visited once.
But fear not, you go blend in.
Whenever you decide to migrate to Lagos for the hustle, please go straight to the Island.
Avoid mainland completely.
But do you have someone here in Lagos that's ready to accommodate you?
because you no fit migrate to a new land without accommodation.
With your Corolla, 20k fuel should gross you like 80k or a bit above, according to Corolla users.

Much respect, baba.

Lol, you no wan work for them at all, by now, bolt for don give you lifetime ban😃😃

Sometimes I dey pick all those rides to boost my acceptance rate. With the road construction going on lekki road, I think Uber and Bolt are the best. I dey always go from Gold to Platinum on Uber, I never see this kind 0% acceptance rate before😃 😃😃. You no even send their papa
Smiles.
I use Uber sparingly as a support, indrive is my main grind. I think my acceptance rate will remain zero because of that. Smiles.

@Vela01

So, is it because my acceptance rate is zero, na why Uber removed me from the platforms wey I suppose dey make 1 million in a week? grin

Make dem no worry nah, make I keep am on zero like that since I no fit dey take those 2k-3k-4k net trips of 15-25 mins pick up wey dem dey throw at me. grin grin

I entered road today and earned 41k bought fuel for 16,000..my issue here is how do I settle Uber from my account or how does it work ..I’m seeing connect my account to be paid but I already received payment offline ..How do I make payments or how does it work , pls enlighten me guys .

Today was quite stresful being my first time , quite an experience lol .. I learnt my lesson from Taking a trip to Ajah ..
@the bold of your last statement - this is exactly what I like to read from new drivers.
You need the on-field experience, cos that's what will definitely build you up.
Not the questions upon questions wey I dey see from aspiratants. grin
Though, the question stuff is necessary, but too much question is not what is required, as long as you sabi drive, you'll learn the hustle on field.

Now, to your payment issue - if you had already linked your bank account with your Uber profile, wait till tomorrow and work again, the app will bring the option for you to make their payment.

I just hope you already have linked your bank account with the app.

Lastly, what do you mean by "... you already received payment offline" in the first bold statement?

Boss, learn to buy fuel right, get fuel only at confirmed stations (mrs ahmodu, Mobil Agidingbi, Total Gbagada etc.
Avoid these locations,
Alakija,
Amuwo Odofin
Orile Iganmu,
Ojo
Mile2/Apapa
Amukoko,
Bagadry
Oko Agbon
Igbo Elerin
Okokomaiko
Ifelodun Ajeromi
Shigbiri
Oko afo grin etc.
For this period, stay with bolt and Uber, no go drag ride with Glithronix and co oo, you won't get any trip.
You see those locations you mentioned ehn, looks like a compilation of horror movies. lipsrsealed
During my early days on bolt, I shuttled Amuwo/Ago palace/Festac/Mile2/Apapa/Iyana Iba wella.
Those places are horrifying.
I still have the picture of those areas in my head.
Make no newbie try those areas ooh, not even now wey be say road sanity in Lagos don disappear. Everybody just dèy do anyhow now. grin

Btw, at the bold.....

Hello I’m hitting the road soon as a Uber driver as a means to offset one’s current bill and economic recession..I will be driving from Ikeja .. pls if you got any advice for me to aid my confidence in this job pls do share ..have read through the group chats for a while now and I’m quite encouraged by you guys resilience in this business ..I pray the road will be good with me cause normally I get tired easily driving on Lagos road and I’m not too conversant with the Lagos road except heading to few high brow area but I guess google map will be my partner for a while until I get used to this roads ..I hope this job is exciting and most especially encouraging financially, I guess I will find out by myself..
Not the best period, though.

But for a start, do weekends only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for now.

Sample those days for like three weeks and once you feel you're blending and your strength and confidence improved , you can increase your working days, but for now, only weekend is advisable.

Reason is because, prices on all the apps (Uber, Indrive, bolt) are very poor at the moment - dry season for e-hailing.

Lastly, do not go beyond lekki phase 1.

The only consideration for one-way is granted to Ambulance 🚑 and that one self must be on emergency duties.
Any other vehicle, no matter who u be, must not drive against the traffic.
But those arrogant lots whom we already know no send the law, we dey see dem almost daily as dem dey take one-way routes.

Does it mean indrive's new charge is now 12.3%?

If that's the case, they're still fair.
Yeah, somehow still fair.
But the root of the push in their commission is the Nigerian government which many people won't appreciate.
It's still fair - it's still fair, na so e go dey climb up small small till it gets to 20%. angry
If Nigerian government no come up with their yéyé tax, indrive will still keep their commission below 11%.
The implication of the recent increase is that they will still push it up more. It's not even about the 12.3%, cos it's not really much and "indrive may still not increase their base fare with significant %".
Na my issue gangan be that.
