I took my offline rider to liasu road ikotun and decided to look for a ride back to Ojodu on indrive. I eventually saw 1 with a very very very ridiculous price to ogunnusi road from egbeda bus stop and highest bid was 6300. I decided to do it to cover for fuel only for the rider to tell me it’s delivery, I asked for picture of the goods and he sent picture of 4 big boxes with a small fridge, i just vex cancel the ride begin dey drive home.

This work can test someone’s patience and tolerance now

To be honest, that's why I stopped complaining of price. A suitable increase is not affordable by the average rider, and correct me if I'm wrong but there seems to be a decline in riders especially on bolt in recent times compared to earlier in the year.

Indrive should not start what they can't finish. It will shoke them. The major reason drivers port to Indrive is because of the freedom. Introducing nonsėnsē "cancelation rate", is Introducing unnecessary problems.
Most cancelation is beyond drivers control.
Both Apps keep blocking drivers, despite the ridiculous fare prices, because is less competitive.
Any new app should just come with that 'freedom'.
But, what exactly is the problem of these app companies

Not until Bella came, Uche was doing very fine with Bolt. He understands the Nigeria market.
The reality of driver/rider relationships goes beyond using computer system in offices.

Morning bosses. Pls how do you guys deal with phones overheating while using the Bolt Driver app and Google Maps?

Mine overheats a lot even when I'm running just these two apps. And most times the apps will just close. And then I'd have to turn off the phone and wait for sometime. It can be really frustrating cuz sometimes it does this mid ride, and then I'll start begging riders to give me directions.

I use a Samsung S20 with a Snapdragon chip. It's 6gm RAM.

the only enticing facility is to give out free money to riders and drivers to gain market share. That's investment they need to get back somehow later.

Uber for example only started turning profit in 2023, 3 years ago. Bolt for the first time last year. you're asking another person to come in and burn millions of dollars so that in 7 years they can maybe make profit.


If you look at people abroad that usually pay by card. Uber will charge them as much as possible and then pay the driver as little as possible. Just wait till it's Uber that is processing payments.

Government intervention is truly the only way and these companies are even fighting that abroad too

After doing this business for upto 5yrs, u should be able to tell an investor practically how to enter the market and still remain relevant, sustainable and lasting in this business.
Ur recommendations will bleed the investors and their partners for years. They will run at a loss just to gain traction and after all said and done, when their money is finished, d only thing that will still keep Riders on that app is a competitive price. Then we will be back to square one.
Don't forget we as Drivers are looking for how to raise our income as cost is rising.
So whether 1 or 10 more apps enter d market, that is not the solution.

Whatever idea is based on money baba. How can drivers earn what is fair? Riders dont want to pay much too because apps have reduced base rate badly, these prices i dey see i no even see am when i never start driving by 2023 as a rider, na hin i dey see as driver now

Another funny thing with bolt pricing now.

Bolt calculates Linear distance to pickup not Driving distance.

They also use the same linear distance to destination to price a trip not Driving distance.

You see a trip of 10km by the time you start it turns to 18km, if you arrive earlier to destination Bolt will still reduce your money from the initial amount you saw when you accepted the order
