Why do these riders feel too big to pick app calls?
Entitled people everywhere
This is not the case.
The in-app calling is not well networked by the app company.
While you're calling through the in-app, the rider picks but won't connect.
Same thing when they call you, too.
But once in blue moon, it will connect successfully.
I don't know what indrive has done to that because before, it would connect easily.

As for me most of this ride prices are ridiculous, but wetin man go do naa, personally I prefer long distance trips more, u know say most drivers na family men, people still on higher purchase.. They have to meet their daily target naa, for you to take home like 45k-60k daily, let say u take this type of long distance trip ... 15k*6 trips =90k gross.. take home after fuel like 30k-40k, then maybe you fit collect small short trips to met your daily target maybe make extra 15k-20k..For me to break even for this hustle with this their ridiculous prices you have to know when to take long and short distance trips.. The truth is that this hustle no dey that lucrative again, to take home like 40k-80k now u have to put in more hours like 8-12hours..
Wallahi, you can't say it any better.
All those trips are nons@nse from A-Z, but as you said, wetin man go do? sad
We are not making the profit that's proper in this hustle in the real sense (it's a pity). 🤦‍♂
We just dey rugged am onto say at the end of the week, you're already saving some 'okay' net profit.

Pearl1910:
U just stated u can't do a 1hr trip for 10k
But u did a trip of almost 2hrs for 15k.
For me this is a fair trip, given the current realities.
But if it was a working day, it will be a no no.
Normally a 10km trip should be minimum 5k. This trip was a 40km trip and should be minimum 20k.

If the trips were abundant, I would rather do the N3k trip within Lekki phase 1, 2trips within 30mins, 6 trips in 1h 30mins, rather than climb thirdmainland bridge and burn fuel for 15k from Igboefon to Jara mall.

Trust me, U can never be wrong with Naira/km analysis. There is no gainsaying that N600/km trumps N350/km
First, that 15k trip wasn't anywhere close to 2hrs. It was 1hr 22mims. In fact, when I took a particular link from the PU, it dropped down to 1hr 09 mins >
(I was surprised). That's by the way.

How I wish say na my level dey follow me drag this stuff, e for sweet me die, cos you be my boss in this hustle and I learned from you.

However, shey you can see why we can never be on the same page?
I don't do these short trips una dey do.
Na only short trips go dey give you N500/N600/N700/N800/N900 per KM, and to me, they are all time wasters (on indrive).
While you're doing short-short trips to meet up that 15k that I did in 1hr 20mins (let's say), you go don move a lot. Can you actually complete 5 short trips in 1hr 30mins, with this kind of riders that would delay you for 10mins or more?
Let's assume you covered it in that time frame, to me, you are stressing yourself by moving to plenty PU and destinations. I will never ever do that kind business on the app.

Lastly, if 10km should give me N5k (500/km), so this trip below should be a perfect trip for everybody, right?
The destination is just less than 5km.

Much respect, sir.

@pearl191, see another one I did earlier.
I was just less than 2mins away to PU and naira/km was 284/km.
Time to destination 47mins.
I want know if it was a cr@p trip I did based on the naira/km and time to destination.
There's room for improvement.

One of the trips I did today.
Rider accepted. I drove to PU 9mins (based on traffic).
Was it a good or bad trip, based on the naira/km and, or, time to destination?

BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Glithronix:
Pearl1910:
Nope, The 6k trip has included the long distance to pickup. If u are close to pickup that will be about N600/km and that's a very good price for the trip.
But if u have to go from Oregun/Allen to magodo to pick up d person and come back to Sheraton/GRA thats a very bad decision. that's why u are seeing N250/km. You will also factor the time it will take u to go to pickup and add the time to complete the trip before u analyze ur 6k if it's worth it.
When I uploaded the screenshots, the question I asked was if both orders were like 7mins to the PU, which one would be a better trip. The trip can never be up to 600/km.
However, if I was close to that trip, I won't think twice before picking it, cos it was a perfect trip for the time and destination area, I don't check naira/km.
But the one with higher Naira/km was ignored by everyone - why?
I thought the higher the naira/km, the juicer it is.
That's by the way.

Pearl1910:
As per your point that u only consider time and not distance. On a free road u can do Yaba to Sangotedo in 1hr. So tell me will u do this trip for 10k and call it a good decision?
10k for one hour trip is poor, no matter the distance or area. 10k wey I dey get on 40-45 mins trips?
1hr trip should be ringing a minimum of 12.5k on a normal day. If I see 1hr 5mins trip to where I would like to go and is below 13k, that's when I start bidding. Sometimes, I get picked, sometimes, I did not.

Pearl1910:
That brings me back to d point I am trying to make, u must consider distance and time when accepting a trip, not only time. Cos some locations have free roads and u will speed up. In d process u will burn more fuel so u would make 7k or 10k but u have used 5k fuel. What is now ur gain?
That's not how I operate, boss.
I know everywhere in this Lagos (all thanks to the hustle 😊). I don't pick trips anyhow, I'm very selective. I know where a trip is going at a glance. So, as time is what I factor, I check distance and area. I sabi this hustle small, baba.
