Business / Re: Voguepay Charges Is Making Me Want To Think Twice by globaljobs(m): 8:49pm On Dec 13, 2017
I just checked the vogue pay fee on their web site. And the minimum withdrawal amount is $1,500.

This means a merchant's funds will be stuck with them until sales reaches $1,500.

That is outrageous!

Adverts / Free Retirement Planning Guide - How To Become A Self Made Retiree by globaljobs(m): 2:53pm On Aug 14, 2017
Proactive retirement planning is essential to living a happy and fulfilled life after retirement.

Unfortunately, millions of employees in Nigeria (and worldwide) do not take retirement planning seriously early in the career.

Consequently, many retirees end up with abject poverty after they retire.

Thousands of these retirees lived a wonderful life when they were still in paid employment. They drove fancy cars, lived in luxurious apartments in the best part of town and threw lavish parties with reckless abandon.

Unfortunately, they failed to prepare for retirement until it was practically too late. And now they are retired and broke.

Don't let that happen to you!

Become A Self-Made Retiree!

I am a self-made retiree who has thoroughly enjoyed my retirement from the 8am-5pm rat race.

My retirement years have been the most exciting years of my life because I started preparing for retirement early in my career. Hence, I invested my salary in things that now generate income for me now that I am out of paid employment.

My advice?

Business / 2-tier Affiliate Programs Versus One-time Affiliate Payment by globaljobs(m): 4:10pm On Jun 07, 2013
Affiliate program is a partnership program where a company pay partners or affiliates a percentage of the product sale price when they refer a paying customer to the business.

It's actually a win-win relationship.

The company has products and services to sell and they want more customers without spending hundreds of thousands more in advertising expenses. Affiliates, on the other hand, are looking for companies willing to pay out good money when they refer customers to them. Therefore, an affiliate program is a "help me i help you business" model.

Should you settle for single one-time payment or 2-tier payment with recurring commission?

I highly recommend you go with affiliate programs with a minimum of 2-tier payment model with recurring commission.

2-tier affiliate programs pay affiliates in 2 levels:

1. For referring paying customers and

2. For introducing their friends and other people to the partner program

This means that affiliates get paid for their own sales performance and the sales performance of other affiliates they introduced the business to.

Why is this important?

Well, not everyone is a good salesman or saleswoman. With 2 tier affiliate programs, even if you're not a good salesman, if you can get couple of people who are good sales people to join the company through you, you can still earn sizable commission from the affiliate program.

Another thing to remember is the concept of recurring commission.

Recurring commission means that if you refer a customer who buys from the company, the company will pay you the commission agreed for the current purchase and the same commission anytime in the future when the customer buys from them again.

This is certainly much better than getting paid a one time commission and NOT getting paid when the customer shops again with the company.

Bottom line.

A 2-tier affiliate program is the better choice. It helps the affiliate to build his earnings exponentially over time.

With this kind of program, the work you did last year will add up to what you will earn this year especially where the product purchased is a recurring payment product (that is, a product that elicits repeat payment e.g. web hosting is paid for monthly or yearly; software renewal is paid for yearly etc).

Are you planning to join an affiliate program?

Make sure it's at least a 2-tier affiliate program with recurring lifetime commission.

NOTE: Recurring lifetime commission means that as long as the customer you referred to the company continues to buy from the company, the company will continue to pay you, the affiliate who referred him to the company, ongoing commission. Sweet, isn't it?

Business / Re: Affiliate Marketing In Nigeria by globaljobs(m): 3:43pm On Jun 07, 2013
One of the problems Nigerians face with popular global affiliate programs is that they pay affiliates commission using online payment processors like paypal and moneybookers and these payment processors do not accept affiliates from Nigeria.

This means they will not send your affiliate commission to you here in Nigeria even if you make money from the program.

So, why join an affiliate program when you will not receive your commission?

I recommend you join affiliate programs that will send your money to you in Nigeria.

You have two options:

1. Join an oversea program that pay oversea affiliates by bank wire or

2. A Nigeria based affiliate program that will pay your earnings directly to your bank account

Autos / Re: Niger Delta Flood And The Advantage Of Using Revlyte Portacabins by globaljobs(m): 10:51pm On Jan 27, 2013
Thanks for highlighting the importance portacabins (or portable cabins) so nicely.

Most Nigerians don't realize how important it is to have the ability to relocate your house or office until it is too late.

A good example is the case of houses along Ikorodu road in Lagos Nigeria that is currently being expanded.

The road expansion means that houses along the road have to be destroyed to make way for the road construction. And that is a huge loss for the owners of those buildings and the offices that occupy them.

If only the houses were transportable or relocatable, the story would have been different for many of these property owners.

I recommend you take a look at prefab house plans at http://www.nigeriaportablecabins.com/prefab-house-plans.html to understand what is possible and how fast you can get a prefabricated house or portacabin up.

Business / Re: Are All This Making Money Online Rea? by globaljobs(m): 9:27am On Aug 07, 2012
Some people make money online while some don't.

One of the hottest selling item online is information.

This means that even if a person is already making 15k per day, he will make even more money by selling YOU or anyone else information about how he makes 15k per day.

The truth is, people are constantly looking for successful people and their success stories. So, if you're already successful, you can get even more successful by selling information (in a book or manual) about how you did it.

Think about it.

If dangote were to write a book about how he became Africas richest man, do you think the book will sell?

Of course!

Why?

Simple. Millions of people want to be like him.

A word of caution: Not everyone who claims to be making 15k per day is really doing so. Often it is hype to grab attention and get people to buy. And if the person market his manual very well, he may end up making that much per day by just selling a manual about how to do so.

Bottom line.

Search for genuine achievers and follow in their footsteps. You can't go wrong if you do so.
Business / Re: I Have N40k , Which Business Can I Do? by globaljobs(m): 10:14pm On Jul 24, 2012
Anything that involves betting cannot be called 'reliable'.

It is what some people call a "game of luck".

That means you can either win or lose.

As someone mentioned earlier in one of the posts in this thread, he has tried it many times and lost his money.

Betting = playing games

If you have just 40k and you're looking for a reliable business where you take calculated risks and sell to make profit, I suggest you try a low startup capital p-to-p business.

You can start with as low as 10,000 Naira.

Another option is partnership with an online real estate company.

With an online real estate company, you can run your business entirely online.

For example, you can start with as low as $12.95 per month (or 2,200 Naira per month).

12.95 x 12 = $155.4 per year = 24,864 Naira per year.

Guess what.

There is no limit to what you can earn even with that low startup capital.

This real estate company is called the Erimama real estate investment club.

You can get more details in the official web site at http://www.erimama.com/page.php?id=2

That is why the best way to earn money is to join a business where members make money through collaboration and teamwork.

That kind of synergy results in ever growing income and you will never again be afraid of retirement, redundancy, re-structuring, or any other language used to tell you that you're out of a job.

Properties / Oro Masquerade Rituals Or Festivals In Ikorodu Lagos by globaljobs(m): 9:30am On Jul 17, 2012
How are oro masquerade rituals/festivals held in Ikorodu area of Lagos state?

What time period? Day time or night time?

Are they announced so people will be aware and watch their movements?

What happens if someone is not aware and walks into the crowd of oro masquerade and their followers?

A property agent told me last week that he is afraid to recommend investing in Ikorodu properties to non-natives because of the issue of oro festivals/ceremonies/rituals that usually happen in the day time (unlike some parts of lagos where it happens only at night from, say, 10pm-5am) and can last up to 1-3wks.

To make matters worse, he said all the ikorodu villages do not have the oro festivals/ceremonies/rituals at the same time and it usually rotates from one village to another in the ikorodu area of lagos state.

He said businesses are usually closed during this period and women are not allowed to come out for fear they will see the oro masquerade and that will mean loss of their lives.

Is any of this true?

Is there anyone here in NL that lives in any Ikorodu town/village who can give some further insight into this matter.

If this is true, it would make investing in ikorodu property a very risky venture. And businesses have to close for weeks because of oro?

If any of this is true, how do we get the attention of the lagos state government to minimize or even eradicate public display of local traditions that risk other peoples freedom of movement and even lives?

Please share your experience and knowledge
