Obi couldn't have completed every projects he started but he left a whopping 98 billion for us , the children of the state. Additionally, the FG owed us over 48 bill6...add this together and you have nearly 150 billion. What could be more uplifting than this. Obi also cleared over 40 billion worth of pension , owed salaries and gratuity. He transformed both the healthcare sector and education. Many schools of nursing were built and accredited. The Anaku teaching hospital built. The permanent site of Anambra state university built, the state secretariat built. All the general hospitals in Anambra renovated and refurbished.

Poverty mapping in Anambra north done and massive inroads made in the north were most roads were built because that area was considered the poorest , but Obi was from the central. What manner of a great man is Gregory Oseloka Obi (named my son Oliseloka after Obi) ??

Again at the twilight of his regime, everyone was aware that Peter Obi kept flagging off new roads, hired 10,000 new workers and a plethora of abandoned projects such as Agulu and Onitsha hotels, Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha malls to name a few. The fact that he does not mention the liabilities and how much it cost Obiano to complete them speaks volumes about his character.

Whether you like it or not, Peter Obi had very limited capacity to achieve big projects, and thus focused his effort on achieving only the millennium development goals , while Obiano had great dreams for Anambra state and huge personal capacity to lead people towards achieving great feats. Thus, he focused his attention on landmark projects to help Anambra become the great state that it is today.

While i wish Obi victory in 2023, it should not be done on the alter of forcefully claiming all Obiano's achievements as his own. We were all here when Obi refused to even use the Anambra International Airport , even after Andy Uba and Ngige had done so and praised Obiano for achieving the age long dream that they all played limited roles in helping to secure the land when they were governors. Till date , Obi has not publicly commended Obiano for achieving the dream of Anambra people to own an airport since 1982! Shamelessly claiming that the project his criticized an unnecessary waste of funds was indeed his brainchild just because Obiano ignored him and worked very hard to deliver the project.

Today, Soludo is working hard to execute his vision for the state. Peter Obi is busy junketting Nigeria for his personal ambitions. When Soludo succeeds, he will be the first to claim Soludo's achievements as his own.

Revealed: How Obiano govt sold Anambra’s dollar savings

A crisis is brewing between Anambra State Governor Willy Obiano and opposition parties over the alleged secret sale of the state’s dollar savings in the last three and half years.

The governor, according to sources, has disposed of the cash saved for the state by his predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi. In the last transaction, over N10 billion was realized, according to one documents The Nation stumbled on.

The last transaction was carried out, following a letter of March 17, 2017 by the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency.

In the letter of authority, its Chief Executive Officer Joe-Billy Ekwunife, directed Afrinvest, the firm appointed by Obiano to manage the savings to carry out the transaction.

The agency directed the firm to execute a partial sale of the Eurobond Portfolio domiciled with two commercial banks to raise N3.7 billion and N6.3 billion.

According to sources, the bonds in one commercial bank that were disposed, following the directive, included 6.75 per cent 28 January 2021 FGN bond with a face value of $30,000 and 6.38 per cent 12 July 2023 FGN bond with a face value of $50,00.

“There are also the 10.5 per cent 19 October bond with a face value of $21,000 and eight percent July 2021 FGN Bond with a face value of $14,000. The FBN bond was sold in two tranches of $9,000 and $5,000. Prior to their sale, the savings had yielded billions of Naira as revealed by the manager,” the source added.

Also, it was disclosed that each time the bonds were sold, the agency directed Afrinvest to credit the money realised into the Anambra State Special Excess Crude Account. It was not immediately clear yesterday if the special account is not under the purview the state’s Accountant-General.

It was learnt that the first sale of the dollars accounted for the disposal of 8.25 per cent of a first generation bank’s bonds from which about $10.2 million was realised. This amounted to about N3 billion, going by the exchange rate at the time. The bond, which was to mature in August 2020, had an annual coupon yield of 8. 25 per cent and it was purchased by another bank at a much discounted rate on December 18, 2015.

The problem is how to increase IGR, expand income from taxes and levies WITHOUT overburdening of the taxpayers.

I think Soludo's finance commissioner and budget&Planning team are intellectually lazy to dream up new sources of revenue and expand the tax base.

For instance, i was in Awka to inspect my building projects. Now, there are more than 10,000 plots of land in just the new estate alone! All the landlords had applied for C of O from the government and the state government officials said that they were not issuing any! Mind you, each land owner in the estate was willing to pay 200k each for a C of O from Anambra state government , yet they won't issue and gain the revenue. Instead, the only idea that comes to their head is how to increase taxes on keke snd okada operators! This is why Soludo needs those exposed to internal revenue services abroad to advise him. Than the current clueless people in the finance ministry.

Again as i previously mentioned , Anambra csn quadruple its IGR simply by creating an agency that enforced traffic laws. Those who contravene traffic laws are fined 10k to 25k on the spot! The money must be paid via POS or bank transfer to avoid leakages from cash payments. If Anambra had s traffic agency like LASTMA whose job depended on meeting stipulated quota, they will apprehend traffic violators and make Anambra roads safer. While helping to generate revenue for their continued employment and boosting the state's IGR.

Imagine that a pilot told me that the airport was one of the few in the country where aviation fuel was constantly available. To top it up. They don't play with safety while refueling aircrafts. They even pull out a crash tender to stand by even for just refueling. Talk about doing things by international standards.

Again, let me use this opportunity to dispel the lies by one online media man, Njenje Media that claimed the airport could not sit up to 100 people. I counted 634 seats just in the upper deck alone! On the day i flew to Abuja from there, i came quite early in order to do a thorough inspection of the facility and have documented picture evidence for the future. When people would throw out their lies.

Meanwhile, the seats were not crammed together. In fact, you could add more if you wanted. All these lies just to convey the false impression that Anambra International Airport was not standard just to spite the builder of the facility is very shameful.
