Teeprecious:
Good evening great people, please has anyone flown BA recently or is currently booked to fly BA into Canada this December?
Do we need any visa to transit through?
Please what else do I need cos I want to cross my ts and dot my i's please.
I am fully vaccinated too.
Thank you.
Hello
You don’t need any transit visa to get to Canada at all.
You would fly from Nigeria to us then wait some hours to fly to Toronto.

Hello everyone,
I think it is rather selfish for you to have PPR and then not drop your timeline and the documents you submitted. Nairaland has been very very helpful to everyone here. If you think you know everything then I don’t think you should be in this platform. I have gotten my PPR but I still come here to learn things and help in every way that I can.
You don’t drop timeline after PPR but you Caine back and ask question for you expecting someone to answer you.
You keep collecting and collecting without giving back at all is wrong and very selfish which is Nigeria is the way it is right now.
I really hope this bad attitude don’t follow “them” to Canada.
So please stop collecting without giving.
Even if your application was not perfect still drop timeline. It gives people that are waiting hope.
I com in peace.

Hello everyone,
Is there anyone that travelled recently with British airways what documents did they ask them for at the airport?
Also can someone help with a sample of quarantine plan. I plan to quarantine in the basement of a family friends house.

Godsfave:
Good morning team,

Please is there a specific amount one must have while traveling? Will i be asked for statement of account? If yes, can i present my sponsor’s statement of account? Must i be in possession of cash? If yes, how much? Please help a sister
Hello Godsfave
There is no specific amount you need to have but once you are carrying more than 10k CAD in cash you have to declare it before traveling and as soon as you get into Canada.
Some over sabi visa officers will at you at the port of entry for statement of account and you can go ahead and present your sponsors statement of account. Make sure it’s the updated one.

Thank you very much for this information, but I did my biometric screening in Lagos, can I send the passport to Abuja?
Yes you can send your passport to Abuja
Just pay the transmission fee

Myki007:
Good afternoon house, please I did my biometric in Lagos and I reside in Lagos too, can I take my passport to their office for stamping or It's a must to use DHL service?
Thanks in anticipation of your positive response
Hello to you too.
You have to use DHL. Due to Covid 19 people are not allowed into their office.
So you send your passport through DHL, don’t forget to pay for 2 way courier. And I’ll advise to send to Abuja cause Lagos is very very slow.
Thanks

Hello everyone please I want to confirm something.
So I sent my passport to VFS Lagos cause that’s where I did my biometrics.
I did my biometrics last year but I can’t find my slip so I just attached my BVL letter to show that I did biometrics.
Now one mr Gabriel from VFS Lagos just called me now saying that I have to pay transmission fee.
Please I’m quite confused how true is this?

Hello, my friend is traveling to Canada in around 2 weeks, her application has been approved just waiting for them to send her passport back, what can she carry along to Canada, I mean the most important of things, she told me to help her ask cuz I always tell her about how Nairaland got gurus better than agent lol… I do see stuff like that on here but already scrolled up to 50 threads can’t locate any

Thanks
Winter clothes, thick clothes, long sleeves, clothes for raining season as well. And for summer too
She could also get one winter jacket but she would have you get another one when she lands in Canada cause the Nigerian winter jacket would just not do.
Carry a lot of Nigerian foods like: crayfish, pepper soup spices, spaghetti, okazi leaves, dry pepper etc but make sure they are properly dry.
Carry toiletries.
You should also get a universal charger as well. It cheaper in Nigeria.
If it’s a female carry plenty wigs, attachments
Male: clippers as well
Basically hair stuffs.
Pack more of sneakers.
I think that’s basically all I know.
You can check YouTube. A lot of Nigerians in Canada recommended things you should bring and things you should not bring.
Hope I was able to help?

Shayee35:
MY LANDING GIST

I will try to be as detailed as possible.

My flight had been booked for August 1 since the second week in June, and I didn't reschedule because while booking I didn't select the option to pay for a date change. (Too much aroro is not good as I would have changed my flight date and not put myself under unnecessary pressure at the airport while checking in)

On arrival at the airport, I was asked if I had foodstuff. I said yes, so I was directed to the Agricultural produce counter where I filled a form and paid the sum of N2,000. I was then given a print out to show that I had declared the agricultural produce. Next was to find the incredibly long queue for Lufthansa travelers. I got on the queue and when it was turn my bags were weighed. I had 3 bags weighing about 20kg each. I was told I would need to pay for the extra bag, obviously. I was given the ticket to go pay, after I had been checked in. When it was my turn to be checked in, I was asked for the following:

1. Arrive CAN
2. Enrolment Letter (which I did not have)
3. Evidence of payment
4. Letter of Acceptance

I explained that since I hadn't started classes and I had reached out to my school to get the enrolment letter but was refused based on the fact the enrolment letters are only for students who had started classes already, I was advised to explain to the officials. I did so, but they were already saying that "ah, you will not board o, you need your enrolment letter o". I responded by asking them to tell the CBSA people what I told them. The guy in charge left and came back to say the border officer said I couldn't board as my flight date was not within the 4 weeks advisory. (The enrolment letter wasn't the issue)

I told to him to explain that I had booked in June and was not aware of the 4 weeks advisory (I genuinely wasn't, I don't like wahala). The border officer then replied that I should just reschedule. The Lufthansa officer then responded by saying that I had been to TICKETING, and that there were no more flights for August.

Next response: XXXXXXXXX, OK TO BOARD.

The man was gracious enough enough to show me the chats on WhatsApp. I was already afraid that I will have to carry all my luggage back home after all the stress of getting to this point of my Canadian journey, and not just the airport.

My trip was smoother from there. Good inflight food and entertainment. 6 hour layover in Frankfurt. Another 8 hours plus to Toronto. Tiring trip o!

Anyway, at the airport you queue to selfservice your landing, scan your passport, take your photo and all. Then the machine gives you a slip. Next, you get on another queue where some documents are asked of you. For me it was Arrive CAN, Vaccination card (I made sure I was fully vaccinated) and letter of acceptance. The officer was satisfied and then I got on the queue for students to get my study permit. Depending on who you meet, the questions will vary. When it was my turn, I was asked for:

1.Letter of acceptance
2. Tuition receipt

I showed him. Then he asked for evidence of my living expenses coverage and I showed him my bank statement (Print a recent one, please). He then told me to wait, that he wants to print my permits. He gave me 2, Study and Work. He also took the time to explain the conditions on the documents. When he was done he said, "Welcome to Canada" with a huge smile on his handsome face.

I sailed out like the queen I am to look for my luggage which I found after a long while. The airport is so big. Please eat in the plane or during your stopovers. You need your strength for the queues and movements.

As you can tell, I wasn't asked for my hotel reservation because I am fully vaccinated. On my way out of the airport, I was given a Covid home test kit to get a sample for pickup at my accommodation. I am exempt from quarantine.

I think that's mostly it.

Have some loose cash in case the airport officials tax you and you don't know how to say NO.

Oh yea, classes start Sep 7, so I was about 1 week ahead of the 4 weeks advisory.

Paid the extra luggage, it was pricey, so prepare. I think it's worth it, though.

Hope this helps someone.
Congratulations and may the land of Canada Favour you.
I want to ask what exactly is enrollment letter?
Is it like a letter that shows you have been given admission?
Cause I’m confused.
Also I am not vaccinated at all.
Do you think that would affect me?
