Good morning all. Many congratulations masky, emi a lo o. More to come in Jesus' name. |
Sanitaion inside rain, for where, I couldn't even find the refuse clearers after the rain. I just don't get how my office gets flooded once it rains. Underground more like. Must look into it on Monday. |
whose birthday o and peepoo, i be babe. |
same thing with our landlord too. but come o axeman, na indomie you dey hunger for all the way from yankee? instead of you to be talking correct poundi or isiewu. i tire o. |
sometimes abi na everytime sef, this country just tire me.We shout corruption yet we task young people to bring 2 to 3 years rent amounting to millions just for a place to live. |
Goodmorning goodpeople. Thank God its friday, even though i have to work tomorrow still, but sha, thank God the week is ending. Thank God too, we now have bathable water. We paid a plumber to reconnect our old borehole since the new one was spewing horrid smelling, metallic water. Now my stress is reduced greatly. @axeman, have a safe flight back and ease up on the bottles o. Nigeria don lose enough good people. @iceblue, that tenancy bill no go see light of day. Do you know how many of the reps own houses in magodo and lekki? |
there are very few direct lettings so yep you have to deal with some leeches who usually try to suck all the blood for deliberately giving you rotten logs. Some agents are so bad they really don't care if the property is practically falling down, all they want it their cut. You especially have to be careful when renovations are to be made before you move in. Make doubly sure they do what they are supposed to do cos once you move in you're on your own. |
Money grabbing Landlords especially in this Lagos . I know of someone who moved in to a 4 bedroom (i think its 4, i'm not too sure now) place two years back for 1.2m and at the expiration of the two years, the landlord simply asked for 2m. |
Hi everyone. @K2,its been a while since I've been there but its still there. And I hear more are on the way at least in Surulere. @maskuraid True talk. my friends got a place on Adelabu street in Surulere sometime back and when the rains started, they would practically relocate everything they owned to the upper level. @ijoseda Considering the fact that you would need to do some bit of work on the property when you finally get one, its better to make the landlord(via the agent) give you additional time on your payment. What I mean is if you're paying in June you should make them give you like 2 weeks to one month before the rent actually starts to count. Thats what we did on 2 properties we rented. |
Hi people. Thank God is friday, though i still gat work tomorrow. @ijoseda Your best bet would be to sample the timing before you actually have to resume. That means get on the road 6am and 5:30 the week before you have to resume work once you're settled in to assess the best time. |
hi everyone. How has the week been so far? @iceblue with regards recreation, we have a small park fashola opened not too long ago off Kernel street in surulere where you can take your kids to play on swings and slides. My only problem with the place was that the equipments were not properly made and grounded such that a few weeks after the opening, one of the swings was already uprooting and i went to the park manager to complain. He promised to do something about it but i haven't been there in a while to find out. Apart from that i can't think of anywhere else where peeps can just go to relax. |
@ ice we've never had security issues personally as per we are under cover of the shadow of the almighty @all i eat amala shitta nearly everyday. wonderful thing. shall i email some to you all? |
Initially I just wanted to jump and pass, just read and enjoy the thread but this is one of the nice threads on NL and I just have to join the community. You guys are funny and its like a nice neighbourhood of really friendly people. Kudos to everyone for keeping it "drama" free. Well, before iceblue will send maskuraid to fine me, let me give my own hood story. I live in Surulere. Have lived here for like forever. Its very centralized, meaning you can easily access the Island and other parts of the mainland from here. We live in a four flat compound though only 3 is occupied and we have 2 separate gates so that its more like a twin duplex. Neighbours are ok, although everyone keeps to themselves. We've had the water pump hassles but now we have a new borehole dug to give us access to drinkable water but the water is so bad ehn, its not even good to bath with. I have tried waterguard to no effect. Still wondering how to make it "bathable" not to talk of drinkable. Landlord lives abroad, so no hassles from that end. We don't have maiguards, so everyone opens and locks the gates after themselves. Its better that way because from experience, those maiguard wahala is not necessary. As per Nepa, tey tey we decided that we are and will always be our own Local council area, so in addition to gen we have 2 inverters. Quite peaceful area. Really don't know how it will feel to move away form Surulere. |
point of note: GMAT does not use queen's english but american and that's why a lot of folks have issues. |
