Business / Re: What To Do With His Retirement Money? by GMG(m): 7:20pm On Jan 16, 2008
One business idea that came to my mind that your uncle could do with the money is to open a frozen depot where market fish mongers can store their goods overnight and also be selling fish as a whole distributor.

With such business, you will always have income everyday. Not many people thought of such a dirty business like this but a white collar business with no idea of what they are doing.

I don`t have all the facts about that with me but could be researched further.

The area of business are:

1. Over storage facility for market ppl to store their goods.
2. Sell frosen chicken and fish as a wholeseller

I believe the money might just be enough for the business.

All the best with your uncle money.
Career / Re: I'm Working At NNPC But Not Being Paid by GMG(m): 8:11pm On Jan 11, 2008
Well my dear friend,

I will start by saying that you have not made the good use of the IT you are doing at NNPC and it seems what is important to you is the money instead of making connection and seeking for opportunity to create a good friendship with the staff there. You should be more concerned with after school not the immediate gain.

I did my placement in the UK with a company, I counted this as a great opportunity for me not that I was better than other who could not get one and international student for that matter, but I did it and before long I made good friends and created a good impression which I believed changed their impression about Nigerians.

Why did I do that? Is because of reference for my next job should I need this. This is what you should be concerned about now and understanding our country, you need to be in good term with others. Also, by doing this, you can approach qualified people at work for advice and this might even help you in your final year and project.

If I were you, I will approach the matter with care and speak nicely to HR if there could be anything that can be done for you. So be appreciative for the opportunity and make the most use of it.

All the best in your final year and wishing you a successful career.
Autos / Re: 2005 Toyota Camry At Cheaper Rate by GMG(m): 7:18pm On Jan 10, 2008
I think Seun should be charging for either direct or indirect adverts on this site. The poor guys need to make money too. It will be unfair if something like this goes on underneath.

This will make the authenticity of the advert great and you can be sure you are not being duped

Romance / Re: Can A Guy Love Two Women At The Same Time? by GMG(m): 7:48pm On Jan 09, 2008
A responsible man is like a tamed "dog" living in the area where he is tamed but when loose can be dangerous as so as a woman. It takes the fear of God for a man or a woman to love one person and be totally committed to that person.

Our society is so corrupt that this situation is not so any more. A man can profess to love 100 women. but that is a language of a playerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Romance / Re: Can't I Marry My Girlfriend? She's Fifteen by GMG(m): 7:40pm On Jan 09, 2008
Dear poster,

I think the amount of attentions you wanted as a result of your cooked up story have been given to you and if the story were to be true, Only God can forgive you of the act and deliver you.

Let come to think of it, the poverty level is Nigeria has waranted this kind of enticement ( Enticing a 14 year old girl into bed) Did you ever think of the future of this girl? I doubt it, you are so selfish and whatever a man plants, he will surely reap.

Why can't the Nigerian law forbits such an act? Only God will save our children from such wolf in this civilised world.
Romance / Re: I'm In Love With My Boss But He Won't Dump His Girlfriend by GMG(m): 7:21pm On Jan 09, 2008

Everyone who has contributed to this thread has given a solid  and undiluted advice and if I were you, I will settle the account with your boss and call it off.

I know this might be hard at the beginning but it pays off at the end. All the best!

Romance / Re: Trust In A Relationship: Should It Be 100%? by GMG(m): 12:06am On Dec 20, 2007
Never try it at all.

I did it once and I was wonded and still living with the scars till now.
ONLY take people for who they said they are but don`t trust them. In relationship or business never trust anyone. I will say 0% trust for the first 3 months in a relationship and gradually increase it but not more than 40% until marriage if possible and not to exceed 50%, 2 years after marriage. It is now up to you to increase it to 70% when you are both old,

But not 100% at all,

Business / Re: N100,000 Support For A New And A Genuine Business Plan by GMG(m): 6:41pm On Oct 09, 2007
Thanks to everyone who have in one way or the other shared their opinion on this subject. I appreciate both positive and negative criticism.

One thing I will point out though is that we Nigeria have a 419 mentality on anything and I will not blame anyone who think this way. It is quiet unfortunate that good intention can be caught up in the middle of a our pre-conceived idea about our fellow men.

I am not in the country at the moment but watching a program like dragon's den in the UK which provides an avenue to the public to come on the show to show case their brillant idea infront of highly successful buesinessmen and after being judged by these panel, the amout required by the person presenting the proposal could either be granted or turned down based on how viable and profitable the business is.

I came up with a similar idea to encourage people to start thinking to be a business man if they have the opportunity of someone financing their idea.
Also, I said at the begining of this thread that if there are people out there who have got money to invest as well, they could join me in helping others.

Please note: If you are not comfortable to participate, it is not by force as we used to say in Nigeria. I am not in Nigeria to steal and use your idea.

In response to the person who wrote a long episode, I found it really long to read and I totally ignored because, I stated that an email will soon be created for people to send their business plan if they consider fit to do so. At the moment a guy has sent me a business proposal request for nearly half a million and I need to throroughly look into pros and cons of the business plan, will it yeild a good return on my money? and if not, I will not be considering such business idea if it is more likely to floop the money than to make money with it.

Also, if you want to be part of this initiative, I mean helping others, we could also discuss via the email and we can think together on how to move this forward.

Regards

Business / Re: N100,000 Support For A New And A Genuine Business Plan by GMG(m): 8:41pm On Oct 08, 2007
Thanks Richystar4 for your comment. I am not thinking of stealing someone else idea but help people who have got business plans with financial support if that is a way I back help people back home in Nigeria.

It is an amount I can part a way with and with little impact on my should the business not succeed. And for your information, there are great programs here in the UK where people who think they have got business plan and if they present it to panel who are made up of rich people receive support with some little return in their investment. It is a win-win situation in which someone with idea receives financial supports and any other help to ensure that the business succeed and millioner making other millioner. Don`t get me wrong, I am not a millioner yet but I am willing to help others as well.

I have been there and I know how it is. So, I will not take your comment wrongly but I guess whoever considers this as a great help and they have got a great idea that will yield a return on my investment, I shall be willing to help.

Looking forward to hearing your opinion on this. And if you want to partner with me to help others, you are more than welcome. The more we are, the money support we can give to people at home.

Business / N100,000 Support For A New And A Genuine Business Plan by GMG(m): 2:40pm On Oct 03, 2007
Dear Reader,

I am willing to finance a strong and viable business plan with a sum of N100,000. This is a way of encouraging the Entrepreneurship capability in the less privileged Nigerians. The criteria for selection will be based on the idea you have and if it will yield a good return for my investment, then you migth be considered for this great opportunity. The term and condition will be published later once the nairalanders consider this idea safe and helpful.

It is not a free for all money, it will require you to work and have a strategy on making profit for the investment and if your business plan is considered viable and requires more money, this possibility is available as well. I am looking for 40 - 50% ownership in the business if successful but bear in mind that I will put the money down but the rest of the work in turning the money into gold depends on you.

Watch out for further information soon. All, I want to see at this stage is your interest and suggestion from the Nairalanders

Regards

GMG

Note: Only geninue and honest business minded individual is welcome.

Also, if you want to be part of this initiative, please leave your interest on this forum as well. What I mean is if you want to be part of making this happen by providing financial support for ideas and creativity, please let me know in this forum and soon I will setup an email address on which all interested individual can forward thier interest. I just developed this idea today at work.

Romance / Re: Do You Believe In Second Chances? by GMG(m): 7:18pm On Oct 02, 2007
Giving someone a second chance is easier said than done. I am currently in a pleading situation with a girl whom we were somehow in a relationship and begging her to take me back, even though she is still single but finds it difficult to trust me again.

I told her how sincerely I was and I still am, but she cares about what other ppl will think and say. If it happens to me, will I give a second chance?. I guess I will, depending on the circumstance surrounding the situation.

I think it is hard for us human to give a second chance, especially in a situation where trust is involved.

I will like to hear other people's opinion on this.

Romance / Is It A Dump Idea To Discuss With Your Girlfriend That You Might Be Impotent by GMG(m): 4:28pm On Sep 28, 2007
As a guy or a girl, what will you do in this situation? Bearing in mind that the guy has not been medically proven that he can not father a child but he has had sex several times with the girl friend without any conception.

Please give advice from your heart. If you are girl, what will you do if your boyfriend told you this

Thanks debosky.

I shall be looking into this.

In your post, you mentioned that this can be done in any police station in Nigeria right? So it is not necessary to take all the items you mentioned to Alagbon.

Career / Re: Sleep With My Boss Or My Resignation? by GMG(m): 8:40pm On Sep 25, 2007
My advice to you are these:
1. It is God that blesses and He does not add sorrow to it. All the people that do this kind of things, where are they today and even many of them are regretting to have fallen into the mess. Please refraim from it.

2. If you are married and you cheat on your husband because of promotion, you are bringing a curse into your lovely home of happiness except if having peace of mind does not worth anything to you.

3. Sleeping with your boss will never have an ending and he or she can call on you whenever the need arises and you now become a "filler of passion"

4. You will loose your sense of worth and your value within the organisation is gone if you sleep with your boss.

5. It could even be a test to see how trustworthy you are and how committed you are to your spouse if you are married.
