Hmm, this Donald trump sha, he can never fool me because I know him very well, he says one thing and does the opposite of it.
This is the same man that is currently at loggerheads with Nicholas Maduro of Venezuela and Gustavo Petro of Colombia over drug issues, he's even planning to invade Venezuela and forcefully remove their president
President Donald Trump has formally pardoned former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, telling reporters at the White House on Tuesday, “I feel pretty good about it.”
Hernández’s attorney Renato Stabile and a White House official told CNN earlier Tuesday that Trump had pardoned the former Honduran president. Trump announced his intention of granting a “full and complete pardon” to Hernández last week in a move that erases a major US drug-trafficking conviction for a onetime US ally.
President of Honduras from 2014 until 2022, Hernández was convicted and sentenced last year to 45 years in prison and given an $8 million fine by a US judge for drug-trafficking offenses.
Both Republican and Democratic members of Congress criticized Trump’s plan to pardon Hernández, with some saying they didn’t understand the president’s decision given the administration’s efforts to stop drug trafficking.
Hernández has now been released from prison, according to his attorney. A US Bureau of Prisons database also shows that the former Honduran president was released from a prison in West Virginia.
“On behalf of President Hernandez and his family I would like to thank President Trump for correcting this injustice. President Hernandez is glad this ordeal is over and is looking forward to regaining his life after almost 4 years in prison,” Stabile added in a statement.
Hernández’s wife, Ana García de Hernández, said in a social media post reacting to his release that her husband was a “free man” thanks to Trump’s pardon.
White House defends plan
Trump on Tuesday defended his move to pardon Hernández after facing criticism that granting clemency to a convicted drug trafficker ran counter to his pressure campaign against drug cartels in the Caribbean.
“Well, he was the president, and they had some drugs being sold in their country, and because he was the president, they went after him — that was a Biden horrible witch hunt,” the president told reporters. “A lot of people in Honduras asked me to do that, and I did it.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also criticized the prosecution under the Biden administration. “He was the president of this country. He was in the opposition party,” she said Monday. “He was opposed to the values of the previous administration, and they charged him because he was president of Honduras.”
But as CNN has reported, prosecutors accused Hernández of conspiring with drug cartels during his tenure as they moved more than 400 tons of cocaine through Honduras toward the United States. In exchange, prosecutors said, Hernández received millions of dollars in bribes that he used to fuel his rise in Honduran politics.
Though the Trump administration is blaming the Biden administration, Hernández’s brother was prosecuted by Emil Bove during Trump’s first term in office. Bove then served as Trump’s personal attorney before becoming a federal judge nominated by Trump.
Several people in Trump’s orbit lobbied for Hernández’s pardon, including his longtime ally Roger Stone, who said he called on the president in June to pardon him and claimed he was targeted by the Biden administration.
Lawmakers criticize pardon of Hernández Since Trump announced his plans to pardon Hernández, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have criticized the move, with some suggesting it goes against the US’ escalating efforts in the region against alleged drug cartels.
Republican Sen. Rand Paul told reporters Tuesday that the pardon demonstrates the “craziness of this policy” of striking alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.
Paul noted the inconsistency in how the administration handled this convicted drug trafficker, as opposed to alleged traffickers in international waters who have been killed in the strikes.
“We don’t know who’s in these boats. There could be people being trafficked, basically trying to go into another country illegally, could be in these boats. It could be a host of things,” he said.
GOP Rep. Maria Salazar told CNN’s Dana Bash on Monday that she felt Trump’s announcement sent a mixed message as the administration advances its campaign against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
“I would have never done that,” the Florida Republican said.
Similarly, GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy posted on X Sunday, “Why would we pardon this guy and then go after Maduro for running drugs into the United States? Lock up every drug runner! Don’t understand why he is being pardoned.”
Democratic Rep. Norma Torres of California, meanwhile, sent a letter to Trump on Saturday, urging him to not pardon Hernández.
“Releasing Mr. Hernández flies in the face of your stated aim to fight narco-trafficking and to label narcotics gangs as terrorists,” Torres wrote in the letter. “If drug cartels are terrorist organizations, Juan Orlando Hernández is a convicted terrorist and must not go free.”

Muslim lady tackles Nigerian skit makers for using Hausa language and Islamic dressing to portray criminals
A Muslim lady has called out some Nigerian content creators over a growing trend she says is dangerous, unfair and damaging to an entire community.
According to her, the constant use of Hausa language, hijabs, jalabias, turbans and Islamic imagery in skits to represent bandits or criminals is not “content” — it is profiling, and it has real-life consequences.
She warned that many people around the world who do not understand Nigeria may end up believing that every Hausa speaker, every Northerner and every Muslim is tied to crime — a stereotype she says is harmful and irresponsible.
She added that Northern Nigerians already deal with unfair labels like “illiterate” or “backward,” and content creators are now “adding salt to their wound” by turning an entire culture and religion into a joke.
Her message was firm:
Criminals have no tribe, no religion, no language — bandits and kidnappers are not cultural representatives. They are simply criminals.
She urged creators to stop using Hausa and Muslim identities as props for crime-related skits, stressing that it puts innocent people at risk, affects how they are treated abroad and fuels bias in workplaces and everyday life.

President Trump is shutting down Venezuelan airspace “in its entirety” amid a surge in drug trafficking from the South American nation, he announced Saturday morning.
“To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY. Trump wrote in a morning Truth Social post.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The measure comes just two days after the president said he would begin bombing land-based drug trafficking targets.
“The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon,” Trump told reporters.
The US has been conducting a sea-focused campaign since September, bombing alleged drug boats originating in Venezuela and other Latin American nations.
Trump claims “poison” trafficking via sea has dropped by 85% since the bombings started, a practice Democrats, scholars and human rights experts have described as extrajudicial executions.
The administration has since carried out at least 21 fatal strikes on the boats.
In one such bombing, the US allegedly killed survivors after bombing a drug boat near Trinidad in a so-called “double tap” strike under orders from Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth to “kill everybody” — which the former Fox News contributor called “fake news.”
Trump spoke with Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro last week and discussed a possible meeting between them — which would mark the first-ever encounter between the authoritarian Venezuelan leader and a US president, the New York Times reported on Friday.
The House of Representatives has kicked against any policy or law seeking to rehabilitate terrorists while victims of heinous crimes are left to fate.
The lawmakers who spoke during the plenary specifically tasked heads of various security agencies to fish out informants and other saboteurs who connive with terrorists and criminal elements to sabotage security operations.
Hon. Bitrus Laore (PDP–Adamawa), in his remarks, cautioned youths against engaging in criminal activities and opposed any policy or law aimed at rehabilitating terrorists while victims of their crimes are abandoned.
He said, “Today, we are on the brink of history as part of this National Assembly. On what page will history put us? The victims are seeing these people rehabilitated. The message we are passing is crimes pay, and the youth should join crime.
“As long as the victims are not rehabilitated and the terrorists are rehabilitated, that is the message we are passing and there will be no end to crime. Please, we need to do something about the victim support system.”
Also speaking, Hon. Dabo Haruna (APC-Bauchi) harped on the need to “strengthen security architecture, community policing, and local security. Address root causes of insecurity, border security, and arms control. Justice system reform, technology-driven security approaches, support for victims and affected communities.”
Speaking on the reported cases of genocide against Christians in Nigeria, he observed that Nigerian delegation who engaged the US Congressman, Rep. Chris Smith observed that the petitioner’s claims were not completely accurate and did not represent the true security situation in Nigeria.
While alleging that no official of the Nigerian government was given the opportunity to present Nigeria’s position during the initial hearing, but affirmed that US and Nigeria eventually reached a set of mutual agreement sequel to further engagement between both parties.
One, that the U.S. Congress will convene a second public hearing allowing all relevant stakeholders, including Nigerian officials, to present testimonies before a final report is issued.
He however lamented that, despite the agreements reached by both parties, “Nigerian parliament has not yet fulfilled its own commitment, particularly on obligation to conduct an independent public hearing.
“This delay has contributed to heightened tension and misinterpretations internationally, including public statements suggesting potential foreign military intervention, which have further complicated our domestic security situation.
“My recommendations and advice are on this matter. Establish a parliamentary committee to conduct a comprehensive public hearing on the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria, as well as other related killings and security concerns.
“Two, transmit findings to the U.S. Congress upon completion of the public hearing. So outcomes should be formally transmitted to the U.S. Congress in fulfilling our earlier commitments and to guide their legislative considerations.”
While expressing his view, Hon. Billy Osawaru expressed grief over the unabated activities of ISWAP and allied bandit groups with recurring cases of continued assaults in North East, including ambushes of military convoys and clashes that killed soldiers and civilians.
“Multiple mass kidnapping incidents reported. Over 300 student teachers seized from Catholic schools in Niger State. 25 female students are tortured in Kibbe. 38 worshippers seized. All of this within two weeks,” he added.
In the bid to tackle the security challenges headlong, he emphasised the need to legalize State policing, while urging the “DSS and military to track and neutralize armed groups in remote areas.
“Fast track the counter-terrorism strategic plan of 2025 to 2030. To improve intelligence coordination, law enforcement, collaboration, and community engagement.”
He also highlighted the need to establish a comprehensive national security reform bill to clarify mandates and enhance coordination and institutionalize joint operations; Strengthen the first industrial development to reduce the relevance of foreign procurement; establish a border security control act to better secure our land borders; create a national intelligence fusion center for real-time sharing of information; deploy technology in such a way that will enhance our forces.
Also speaking, Hon. Alex Mascot lamented over the report that repentant terrorists are conscripted into Nigerian military.
While ruling after the debate, Hon. Kalu assured that the House will continue the debate next week Tuesday and pass resolution on the issue of national security.
In addition, he disclosed that the House will commence voting on the Constitution Review bills next week.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro brandished a sword and vowed to defend “every inch” of his country in a theatrical stunt during escalating tensions with President Trump.
The socialist despot was filmed wearing a military uniform and wielding the weapon in front of a crowd of thousands in the capital, Caracas, at a ceremony commemorating the 200th anniversary of the presentation of the Sword of Peru to South American independence hero Simon Bolivar.
“We must be ready to defend every inch of this blessed land from imperialist threat or aggression, no matter where it comes from. The homeland is sacred, the homeland must be respected,” Maduro said, according to a translation by Sky News.
He did not mention Trump directly, instead issuing a vague warning of “new imperial threats of the international far right.”
However, the address came as Trump has repeatedly targeted Venezuelan drug trafficking operations.
So far, at least 80 people have been killed in a series of strikes against boats in international waters accused of bringing drugs to the US, many of which had set off from Venezuela.
The US doesn’t recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s legitimate leader. International monitors also say his election last year — his third — was neither free nor fair.
Maduro’s allies, however, have accused the US of carrying out extrajudicial killings and threatening Venezuela’s sovereignty in a bid to take control over the country’s vast reserves of oil and natural gas.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the National Assembly to review existing laws to allow states to establish their own police forces, as part of efforts to address rising insecurity across the country.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday declaring a nationwide security emergency.
“I call on the National Assembly to begin reviewing our laws to allow states that require state police to establish them,” he said.
The President also added that his “administration will support state governments which have set up security outfits to safeguard their people from the terrorists bent on disrupting our national peace.”
He urged educational and religious institutions in remote or high-risk locations to ensure constant police presence.
“States should rethink establishing boarding schools in remote areas without adequate security. Mosques and churches should constantly seek police and other security protection when they gather for prayers, especially in vulnerable areas,” he stated.
The call for state police forms part of a broader security strategy, which includes recruiting 20,000 additional police officers, deploying trained forest guards, and reinforcing the Armed Forces in troubled regions.
He authorised the police to recruit 20,000 new officers, bringing the total to 50,000, and approved the use of National Youth Service Corps camps as temporary training facilities.
“My fellow Nigerians, this is a national emergency, and we are responding by deploying more boots on the ground, especially in security-challenged areas.
“The times require all hands on deck. As Nigerians, we should all get involved in securing our nation,” Tinubu said.
The president directed the Department of State Services to deploy trained forest guards to flush out bandits and terrorists hiding in forests and to recruit more personnel for forest operations.
He reiterated that officers withdrawn from VIP duties should undergo crash training before redeployment to critical areas.
